"Tried with a group of friends and had a good selection to try from. Tried the gyoza, salmon sashimi, Lava roll, caliente roll, chicken katsu bento and Tempura ice cream with mochi. The gyoza is decently flavored but is not an item that I would drive that far to eat. The salmon sashimi didn't have a bad odor, however, it didn't taste fresh which was disappointing. Given we aren't by the coast, I wouldn't expect that freshness here.The Lava roll is was flavorful, however, it's a Americanized version which was definitely not authentic. I would order it again if I go back. The caliente roll wasn't my favorite; it was not fresh or flavorful. The chicken katsu bento was underwhelming since the chicken was less than a cm thick which felt like if I was eating fried bread crumbs unfortunately, don't order it if you are looking for some real katsu.The dessert wasn't a bad option to try, it had decent flavor of the macha ice-cream and tempura was a little bit thick; however, it wasn't disappointing."

"I just moved to the area about 2.5 years ago and am used to having sushi on a regular basis in a major metropolitan area where the sushi places outnumbered the steak places. I was SO worried that I wouldn't find a good place to eat sushi. Not only am I used to having great sushi at the ready all the time in Albuquerque, I've also had sushi along the West coast from California to Seattle as well as in fancy restaurants in Las Vegas and Dallas.I am dead serious when I tell you that the sushi at Sumo beats them all! They also have the best staff! This is the only place where they ALWAYS hear me when I request no ginger or wasabi on the plate let alone the table because then I can't get the flavor out of my food. It has never been an issue here! And they are generous when you ask for sides of eel sauce and spicy mayo!The fish is so fresh and delicious that even my "anti-sushi" husband CRAVES the sushi here. He even had some salmon sashimi and he never does ANY of the raw fish! I don't think he has even had cooked salmon before! We also tried the fried rice and it was worth every pound we gained from it!The restaurant itself makes you feel like you are in Japan! The hibachi area is so cute and they give out balloon dolls for free to the kids that are so much fun! The decor is authentic and constantly gives you something to look at!This hidden gem is a must try!"

"Sushi Freak is the place to go to satisfy your poke craving in El Paso.We originally chose Sushi Freak because of the super fair prices - $5.50 to start for a poke bowl and $3 for each protein. I ordered a poke bowl with salmon (sake) and started with rice. 4 fillings are included with this, and I chose the cucumber, avocado, cream cheese, & green onion. I added the tempura crunch as a $1 topping. Lastly, for the 2 sauces included, I chose spicy mayo & poke sauce.The quality of the salmon (sake) itself was the best I've tasted in El Paso so far. I really appreciate how much salmon was included in the bowl. Both sauces & the tempura crunch also went super well with this order. The only thing I might change next time is to ask for 1/2 the amount of cream cheese or choose another topping - they include a ton of cream cheese. What I ended up doing was giving 1/2 of it to my boyfriend for him to add to his bowl, and it worked out really well.My boyfriend ordered a poke bowl with spicy tuna & really enjoyed it too! Our friends both don't like sushi, so one of them chose teriyaki chicken and the other chose shrimp. It's awesome how they have non-sushi options here as well. I highly recommend coming by Sushi Freak for a delicious poke bowl."

"My goodness. Y'all... don't sleep on this hidden gem. I absolutely love their menu selection. We had 2 pc catfish combo and a Las Vegas roll plus some prawns. Everything exceeded my expectations. The flavor, freshness, and price are great. They have such a large sushi selection plus fried fish. The breading on the fish is not greasy (like that famous chain) it's so crunchy and has great flavor. Their tartar sauce is also different but in a good way.They have fried desserts too but I had no room and I'm seriously sad about that. Come give them a try you won't be disappointed. It's not often I give 5 stars, honestly I'd give more if I could. They take apple pay, google pay, credit and debit and of course good ole cash money. The establishment is clean, which is a big thing for me and you can feel the cleanliness, it's super cute inside too."

We must of eaten 15 plates of food but the great thing is the portions ate small. The whole idea is to take what you like from the conveyor belt and try different things. Everything was good, service was nice, and cost rnded up comparable to what two meals would have cost. My only suggestion would be for the covers to be clearer plastic or labels on them so you know what your getting. We'll be back!"

I did notice they were not seasoned in any way and I didn't see an option for spicy ones.We ordered 3 different rolls:-Las vegas: avocado, cream cheese, shrimp, crab, and salmon. (Deep fried)-Furikake: avocado, cream cheese, crab, and shrimp. (Nori wrapped on the outside)-El dorado: avocado, cucumbers, cream cheese, and shrimp. It also will have spicy tuna on top of roll.I am usually not one for deep fried rolls over the others. This time I have to say my favorite was the las vegas roll by far. As far as the delivery time it took around 50 minutes to arrive from the time that I ordered. It's actually not a bad time for everything considering it is a few miles from the destination."

I told my husband I was craving sushi and we knew we liked Sunny's because we tried the other location here in El Paso, this specific one just happened to be closer to our house.Surprisingly it was pretty busy for being a Tuesday night. A good sign that they're popular! My husband and I were seated right away and our waiter came to get our drink order pretty fast.We both really like their Crab meat puffs so we ordered one order each. Honestly I'd say that's my favorite item on their menu. I could do with just having those. They're so delicious with just the right amount of cream cheese and crab filling.For sushi I ordered the Golden California roll and my husband tried their Samurai roll. He said he liked his choice! I, on the other hand, will probably steer clear of the golden Cali roll from now on. They made the roll very wide and cut it at an angle so when I ate it I either got a bite of just the crab or the cucumber and avocado. It also fell apart very easily so it was pretty difficult to eat. I'll probably just stay with fresh rolls if they cut all their deep fried sushi the same way, it's just awkward to eat and you don't get the full scope of fillings because it's too big.Service at this location is great though! Our waiter was very friendly and attentive to us during our visit.I'll still be back to try other sushi options and their delicious crab meat puffs! But I'd highly suggest staying away from the golden Cali roll."

I am not a big fan of salmon, so I asked them to use tuna only and they did perfect!The crunchy shrimp was delicious as well and had enough fresh crunch on top of it.Just two things went wrong with this order... no wasabi and the driver actually delivered our food to one of our neighbors and that is the reason I am not giving them 5 stars. We ordered a Korean pancake as an appetizer which was delicious along with a salmon skin roll which I was unable to take a picture of because we ate it fast....it was so good. LolFor the main course we ordered fried Makarek (Atka) and Japsae. It came with a few Korean side dishes which were all fresh and me to order the day. The restaurant was not very busy on the inside even though aesthetically it is very pleasing and clean. They seem to have tons of to go orders throughout our stay. Miso soup was way too salty like they don't know the very simple basic of cooking miso soup that you cannot boil miso soup because it'll become salty. That's the biggest reason why I will not come back here. If I pay that much for sushi, I know a much much better place to go."

Dude... seriously look at the menu and every single appetizer to salad, fried ride to Philly roll... ALL YOU CAN EAT! Unlimited, full menu, $28! This place is now my place in El Paso! FOOD: Granted we have all been to 1-2 sushi's places that we swear is the BEST... from Japan to NYC, I have my list as well. But here? This is El Paso Texas - so grade on a curve and don't expect the freshest daily caught wild salmon (we can't even get rain, let alone fresh seafood). So with that in mind, please understand that this is one of the Top 3 as far as freshness and quality in the city! Honestly, I love it. I have no issues with quality, freshness, selection, taste etc. I think it's great! SERVICE: The servers are accurate and fast! They never stop moving (place stays busy). And they work hard. I'm a fan. Never had a bad experience with them. Friendly and professional and knowledgeable. AMBIANCE: It's kinda funny - this was a standard seafood restaurant prior to sushi.
