"Love everything about this place! The fresh juices, toast and salads are all so yummy. The ambiance and customer service is really great too."
"Wide and wild assortment of chile and spicy foods, dip mixes,... I use regularly use Tia Rita's Green Chile Salt and the Besito Caliente... There will be a flavor you like! I've known these folks for years and they are dedicated to making good stuff."
"True connoisseur beef jerky! The beef is tasty and smoked and cured expertly. The flavours are extreme, don't get habanero if you don't want the real habanero kick! Highly recommended!"
"One of the best selections of Whiskey & Bourbons in El Paso. Chill ambiance, good vibes, great music, and all the bartenders are on point!"
"They make the best chips for dipping! I first sampled them at a farmers market and have been on the hunt for them since. They are thick and crunchy and not oily. One pound bag is $1.50 and they also come in spicy. They also sell tortillas and masa for tamales. Nice girl working there when I stopped by on Saturday. You can also get them at Vista market but they are $2.19 there."
"It's an attractive store, and the staff are relatively friendly, but what I did not care for were their White Chocolate Chunk Pistachio Cookies. I was excited to see these. The packaging was attractive and enticing, and they looked like they would be delicious, but one bite, and they were awful! They tasted old, and flavorless! They were $17 a bag, and simply not worth it. I only wish that they had had samples before I bought them. Oh, well. Never again. 3/5"
"Ahhhhmazing red beers. Service was on point and explained the menu very well. Had the Thursday special for 1.50$ Tecates and a Clamato with beef jerky and shrimp and it was worth the every penny. Great value and quality for the price!"
"This was one of my favorite little shops in the heart of Mesilla. I had no idea that this was a county that is a huge pecan producer, but apparently it's true. The shop was really fun and bright, neatly organized and chock full of everything pecan, from brittle (soft and crunchy at the same time - very delicious and very unique), chocolate-covered varieties, shelled varieties, pecan coffee, etc. We picked up a couple of items for ourselves and some to take home as gifts. The ladies in the shop were super friendly, encouraging us to take lots of samples and wander around freely. I was also really fascinated by the video they had playing in the store that showed the process of harvesting pecans - there's a special machine that shakes the tree and all the pecans fall down to the ground. How cool! So not only a tasty stop but educational too. Highly recommend."

Nice alternative to greasy fast food places. I got the Perfect Gut and Burrata Bruschetta. The staff were friendly and service was fast. When I saw the ingredients I thought it was going to taste too..."healthy." Surprisingly it was actually pretty good. The bruschetta was good just a little hard to cut so careful if you have to go back to work, make sure you don't get it on yourself. There was plenty of seating. It's a shared space with Verde so it could be a little confusing at first. It is priced a little high, almost $20 for the 2 items. Would visit again.

Amazing ambience, vibe, music, drinks and service. I did not actually eat here; we went after dinner. What a great way to end the evening. I will return here again for sure.

The most amazing tortillas I've ever had. Have you tried their tostadas con chile? One word: delicioso!I also met the owners whom are very humble, you can tell how much thought and love they put into their work. Their employees seem to be happy and are treated like family.

I'm not a shopper, I'm a buyer; however, my Mrs. seems to enjoy whiling away time looking at things for their intrinsic or aesthetic value... even with no intention of buying them. My kids have also seemed to take after their mother in this regard, so if I can't stay in the car or good off outside, I'll try to find a place to sit and wait. This boutiquey little store off Mesilla Plaza started as a family pistachio business, and while there were doilies and blown glass and butterfly paintings and statuary here, the store features many unique flavored pistachios by the bagful. You don't have to be a little nuts to enjoy little nuts, but it couldn't hurt. Besides there's a little table and booth thing at the front end (probably for wine customers, but no one was there or waiting) for Luddites like me to wait patiently. You'll probably want to come here and find a delightful refrigerator magnet or a fancy wine opener, or some platter for serving crudités to your houseguests. Me? Well, I'm doing my best to be a good and patient husband... not perfect, but better all the time.

Directly facing Mesilla Plaza, I was interested enough passing by to stop in. There was one person working the counter at the store. She didn't greet us, which could be reasonable, but we were literally the only people there, and we were obviously tourists. I had a lot of questions about the products, but the worker was not friendly and I didn't want to interrupt her phone scrolling. There was an empty sample tray and it would have been nice to sample products since I was hoping to buy some food souvenirs to take home for friends and family, but I passed on it since I wasn't sure if they would be good. I got the jalapeno pecan brittle, green chile pecans, and the red chile pecans. The red chile pecans were smokey like a paprika and the heat builds gradually, and there's more dusting of the powder compared to the green chile. The green chile tastes like green chile. They're both fairly mild. The jalapeno pecan brittle is hot and sweet, with the flavors complementing each other. I wouldn't get it again but it was good to try it. The pecans were good quality, with whole halves in the pecan bags, but they didn't have that fresh crunchy texture of super-fresh pecans.I would go to a friendlier shop to buy your pecan products if you're not from the area.

"Need nuts? Go straight to the source! Teeny shop located far west el paso. It's part of the distribution company site for Azar, which means you get great prices. 5 lb fresh natural nut butter for 6.50, 2 lb fancy mixed nuts for 14 bucks, huge bags of trail mix for varying prices, and 5 lb of peach rings for 5.50! We stock up once every 3-4 months because you can't find better price or quality!"
"I was on a quest to find a handful of the most El Paso things I could possibly find and surprisingly that is actually a pretty daunting task. It wasn't enough that it had to be made locally, but I also wanted it to represent El Paso in a way that was more than a t-shirt or religious crucifix. And So El Paso definitely has locally made El Paso t-shirts and crucifixes, but they also have so much more. Like so much more.I gave the room the twice over because I didn't want to miss anything, but somehow the woman working was able to point out something new to me every minute or so. The big appeal for me was the Jalapeno Pecan brittle which is locally made, but come on... Jalapeno. Pecan. Brittle. Sounds crazy, tastes delicious, and is the epitome of El Paso flavor favorites. And yes, I tasted it in the store because they also offer samples.I also picked up some bags of their Picks Up Popcorn (orange and blue kettle corn), El Paso wine stoppers, fancy boot key chains, and tequila lollipops. The tequila lollipops are a game changer. Not only are they tequila lollipops, but they also have a real worm inside... say what?! Too cool.I love that they have a variety of items and every time you look at one you can't help but think "That's so El Paso". There's a lot in there that can be appealing for the day to day shopper (like their salsas and the popcorn) and it's a perfect stop for anyone looking to get someone a gift. The pricing was great and it's all locally made in the area. Also they gift wrap!"
"My weird obsessions include: small towns, anything that predates my life, some other stuff that's not relevant, and beef jerky. Two of my obsessions are fulfilled at Borracho Jerky.I've had Borracho Jerky before (on my otherwise regrettable trips to Big 8) and it has always had a sweet spot with me. This is the kind of jerky that you splash with Valentina's or throw in a red beer. You know, the super thin, crisp kind. After a half day spent at antique shops, buying comic books, vintage records and random knick-knacks I was making the drive back to my casa and on the way up Talbot St. I saw a sign with dazed cows on it. Could it be? Could it be the very place that makes the only item I'm willing to purchase from a Big 8. It was in fact!I pulled in to a beaten path that led to what looked like a tiny house surrounded by a chain link fence. There were two people outside loading up a car and so I asked, "Can I buy beef jerky here?" After some smiles, a nod and a "yes", I found myself inside Borracho.Turns out they weren't actually opened, but the owners were nice enough to open up for me anyways. I was already very familiar with this brand, what I wasn't familiar with was the huge variety of different flavored jerky they carry. In Big 8 all I ever saw was Jalepeno, Tequila Lime, and original. Inside the actual Borracho store they have every flavor of jerky you want and they have these huge packs that will last you weeks (or days if you're an avid jerky eater like me). The regular sized packs you find at Big 8 are usually around $7 and only have 4-5 pieces, the huge ones at Borracho are $12 and have 10+ pieces. I ended up getting the Mesquite and Jalapeno, both quite good (the Jalapeno has always been a fave of mine).Growing up, I guess I was never taught the importance of sharing because I hate sharing my food (unless it's awful, then you can take as much as you like). I had so much jerky I didn't even think twice about sharing with Bambi and threw her, her very own big piece of jerky. Borracho Jerky makes me a better person and for that alone I will always be a loyal customer."
"I signed my family up for the Ramirez Pecan Farms pumpkin painting event and it did not disappoint. It was by reservation only and they did a wonderful job making sure everyone kept their social distance and at their set table. The farm itself is absolutely beautiful. Tables were set up among the pecan trees and a limited menu was served. The kids had a wonderful time choosing pumpkins and painting them. Everyone who worked here was extremely friendly and helpful. It was a great outing for my family and no doubt we would make the drive again for any other event that they put together!"
"I was in Tombstone on 8/3/2019.Like most, I was walking the streets and enjoying the sights.I walked past this store and I heard a lady say 'hello soldier'.I stopped and was greeted by this lady in the store. She said "we appreciate your service".I ended up buying the 15 ounce squeeze bottle of desert cinnamon. It was sooo good.I have been a regular on-line customer since then and buy it for Christmas gifts which are very popular."
"Went to the Eastside yesterday to try to get my car washed for free at the new Tommy's which turned out to be a bad idea since it started raining again. Decided to make the most of it and stop by Weird'O Beardo Jerky and taste his meat. I've seen them at the farmer's market and never got to try them, but they just opened a cute store off Montwood, right around the corner from Ono Shaved Ice! He had a lot of flavors to try and it's the thin type of jerky that goes with the carne seca drinks. They had a lot of the vendors they work with at the Country club Farmer's market on Saturdays and the Upper Valley Farmer's market on Sundays. From the festive decor to the candied applies, popcorn, caramel, teas, freeze dried fruit and candies, and last but not least, my favorite chamoy Chamoylicious_ep, it's a fiesta in a store! Pretty much a great place showcasing the flavors of El Paso. If they sold glass mugs, pinatas, and some decor, you can actually do a one stop shop for a great happy hour party at home! In fact, all of the store seems to look like it's to celebrate your taste buds. I'm happy that the Eastside has easy access to all the goodies that the Westside gets at the farmer's markets, but kinda jealous they don't have to wait til the weekend. Come check them out and truly #supportlocal. Oh and also get the boba and shaved ice at Ono Shaved Ice while you're at it. I rewarded my kids for the drive with a large shaved ice split 2 ways. I rewarded myself with a brown sugar boba. Can't wait to have the rain go away so I can wash the smells from my damp car. "Great gift shop with a lot of interesting items, mostly imported from Mexico. This is also the first place I've seen with the multi colored chile wreaths instead of just the usual red. The best thing about this place is their selection of bulk dried chile powder. They have all different types at really amazing prices. We got chipotle, cumin, jalapeno and a huge bag of mild red chile powder."
"I mean 5 stars alone go to the concept and creativity of this place. A dessert place for mainly adults.... FUN!!!! I was looking for a new place to go get some drinks and I came across this pace. Walking in we were properly greeted and given the the heads up that it would be a while wait to get our order. You could tell they were hard at work so that wasn't an issue for us. So they have drinks and then they have creamtails. The creamtails take a while to make, but once you see the work and detail that goes into these things you understand the wait. The ice cream is mixed with ingredients from scratch and then liquid nitrogen slowly freezes the alcohol mixed into the ice cream. It's a pretty neat process, in which you can have a front seat view. The drinks are light, but they are all pretty refreshing. I guess I'm pretty bias though in that department, cuz let's be real I'm a veteran drinker lol. I like then on the stronger side.... But I really can't complain on the flavor because they were all pretty good. The service was good, all the guys were on top of their game and all of them were making sure everyone had what they needed. I did read a review about high prices and the staff not wearing gloves. First off all of the staff that I saw wore gloves, which really doesn't make a difference to me, but I just thought I would note that. And honestly after seeing the work that goes into the creamtails, I would easily say they are under priced. Now a days you can't get a cocktail for under $12 and they are $10 as are the creamtails, which I would easily pay $14 for, considering. Overall from the ambience, aesthetic, service, to the quality I would definitely recommend trying this place out. I love when new concepts come to El Paso and this is definitely one of them that's worth supporting. Check them out, you won't be disappointed. A tip.... order drinks while you wait for your creamtail, since they take less time to make..."
"This is an interesting little store. It's has imported drinks and snacks mostly from Europe and Asia. For instance, they have Lay's truffle flavored potato chips from France, squid flavored Lay's (I forgot which country those are from), berry Oreos from Japan and ketchup flavored Ruffles from Belgium. There's different Japanese Kit Kat's and all kinds of drinks to include some familiar brands like Coke and Red Bull. They have different Pringles like Mayo and Cheese flavor and Seaweed flavor, but be expected to pay. The Pringles were $10 and I bought I giant bag of Ruffles that set me back $14. From what I could see, prices ranged from $6 to $16. It's a really fun selection of snacks to have occasionally especially if they have something that you're craving that you can't get anywhere else."
"Best of the HatchWe arrived in town (village?) a little after 0900 the morning after Christmas, which was when most of the Hatch gift shops were scheduled to be open. As we drove around from shop-to-shop, they were all closed, and my disappointment was building as we made a special trip back to Hatch just to visit the shops. Then, suddenly, the Chili Gods smiled upon us as we pulled up to Grajeda Chile Market. The Good:*Huge selection of chili themed foods, décor and even clothing.*Lots of pecan and pistachio stuff, too. Evidently, this region is also known for growing pecans and pistachios, as well. *If you live locally, they sell some really neat outdoor furniture.*The lady running the store was extremely friendly and helpful. She's also hard working, as she said she'd been open since 0800! Unlike these other slouches in town...er...village. *Store is organized and comfortable to walk around in. *Clean restroom for visitorsThe Meh:*Prices are definitely geared towards the tourist set, but whatever. The Ugly:*Bring cash, as they add a 4% surcharge to electronic and CC payments. They do take ApplePay if you swing that way. TLDR: I'm not sure if they're "the best" gift shop in the area, but since they were the only one open, then I guess they get all my money. #TheEarlyBirdGetsTheWorm"
"If you've ever driven from El Paso to Mesilla on the back roads (which I recommend you do, especially if you want a change of scenery) you'll see acres upon acres of Pecan orchards. Pecans are currency out here. Driving through canopies of beautiful pecan trees will definitely make a drive to this area more interesting and being able to stop in a town where it's almost guaranteed that you will eat a pecan infused meal is an added bonus. Some of these farms will allow you to drive right up to their front door and buy pounds of pecans, but they can be hard to find and options are usually just shelled or not shelled. So finding this newly opened shop made my heart skip a beat. The building New Mexico Pecan Co. is housed in has some interesting history behind it and is in a pretty fascinating spot to explore. From what I gathered between the man working during my trip and online, it seems as though it used to be the Silversmith Inc. that carried souvenirs and whatnot and long before that it was some kind of mercantil (I believe that's what he said) which actually kind of makes sense when you consider the design.Product wise their shelves look sparse, but they're still in the soft opening stages and there's really no reason to fill a new store with more merchandise than one can move. And not just that. I kind of like how it looks without there being ridiculously full shelves.Obviously their main product is pecans, but they carry other things as well like pistachios, salsas, Neat (not meat), and delicious jams and jellies. The pecans aren't just limited to shelled or not shelled either...they have quite a few different flavors and samples for those of us who don't like to buy blindly. And pecan pralines! Oh gosh, my favorite! The butterscotch pecans were pretty dang good too! I went home with a bag of yogurt covered pecans and hot pistachio brittle for under $10. The yogurt covered pecans had a very smooth, creamy taste which helped cool my mouth after I devoured half of the hot pistachio brittle. That stuff is gooooooood! Spicy as hell and so good!Next time I'm in the are this will definitely be a stop for me and I'll be leaving with bags upon bags of nuts and other goodies. Everything sold here is sourced locally which is a huge plus in my books. Love it, I'll be back again!"
