Wendy A. "Destination, Hillsboro, to hang out with the Saturday morning Pickers. We showed up a little early for the music, but right in time for breakfast, so we popped in at the seemingly only game in town.Just cuz they got a corner on the Hillsboro nosh market don't mean they ain't putting their best foot forward! The breakfast menu (served until 10:45, if I recall correctly, to enable efficient transition to lunch), was plenty varied with more than a few options I really wanted to try. Middle-aged sedentary lifestyle affording what it does, I only ordered one thing, the pile up..., but I shared it with my friend who shared her short stack of waffles.Pile ups will be pile ups... the mark of superlative being squarely on the chile. And let me tell you, red to green, they mastered both. So, so good! (Man, why did I have to share that??) I'm also delighted to say that the waffles were of my preferred thin and crispy variety rather than the Belgium sort. They were roughly the size of an Eggo, in fact nearly visually identical, but definitely not a freezer-box flavor. Hard not to enjoy a waffle, admittedly; they fit the bill perfectly for sweet breakie dessert. And the prices were exactly what they should be, indicative of craft quality but not of craft pretentiousness. The staff were so so lovely, and the locals prone to chat with out-of-towners. Hillsboro seems like a tight-knit community of folks enjoying small town western retirement... positively charming. There's even a winery a couple blocks away. But if you're planning to check the town out, definitely come on a Saturday morning so you can sit in on the Pickers' bluegrass jam session. And DEFINITELY come early enough to have breakfast at the general store and cafe. Then stay for lunch!"

Albert K. "If you're into snacks, first of all congratulations on not being a robot, you are always on the lookout for new snack spots, so when we saw Tropical open nearby we knew we had to go scope the scene. It didn't disappoint, it offers most of the standards like ice cream, elotes, and paletas, plus a few things I hadn't seen before. The ice cream selection is solid, we tried a couple of flavors that you don't always see, like pine nut, which was good, and banana nut, which was fucking spectacular. The elotes were really good, I hadn't had cup elotes with sour cream before, it added a nice twist (and no, it wasn't disgusting mayo!). We also had a prepared agua mineral with limon and chamoy, it was refreshing af!But the biggest surprise was also the smallest item in the form of baby paletas, which are just too adorable to eat and yet one must devour them.Overall I'd say it was a great visit, as proven by the lack of complaints from the children, we're definitely coming back, I recommend checking it out!"

Paul E. "You gotta love Yogo Berry simply for the fact you can get boba tea here! They also got the Frozen yogurt options where you pay by the weight but I prefer the tea. If you've never had Boba Tea before you may wonder what the hype is all about. It's basically bite size tapioca balls mixed in with a tea flavor and it makes drinking iced tea so much more enjoyable. There only down side is that the tea is a powdered, sugary mixture and I'm not entirely sure any actual tea leaves were involved in the whole process. So basically it's a drink I get every now and then to treat myself. I typically like it when I'm just waiting on the wifey while she shops. Really, drinking the tea reminds me of my time in Houston, so there's a little nostalgia there for me. So if you try it and see like, "what is this?" Please don't blaim me, but then again if you're thinking that right now then I wonder, what's wrong with you! Haha jkOverall, I'm glad Boba Tea is offered in areas my wife loves to shop because I'll take a Thai Boba Tea any time!"

The avocado one is quite interesting and gets very creamy in the middle. The gansito is extremely sweet but I loved it. I wanted to try a couple of shakes and teas. I'm not sure which I preferred but I liked the taste of both. I got a chocolate shake and a tea drink she calls the Wonder Woman. Both had some vitamins/nutrients in them. Jackie has a variety of different flavors. I had a hard time choosing what I wanted. You have to drink the shakes/teas and exercise for weight loss results. Don't forget to also drink lots of water! Consistency is always key for anything you want to succeed in. Losing weight is no exception. Aside from the drinks, Jackie also offers healthy snacks and meals. I've seen sandwiches and breakfast foods. The menu seems to change at times. It's best to follow them on social media to see what they're doing. Jackie also offers a yoga class with a yoga instructor. She sells the powders to take home and make your own drinks. The drinks here were $5 each when I went. I didn't have any of the snacks. They're all made to order. I'll be coming back. I want to try a peach shake that's offered. Go see Jackie if you're looking to eat healthier and lose weight."

Ernesto L. "EXCELLENT!!We've been here several times and it always hits the spot. There's a wide variety of foods offered here. My wife and kids love asian food. They usually get the Poke or Inari Bowl for their rice cravings. Both are deliciously prepared with tofu and lots of natural flavors and seasonings that give it that classic asian umami flavor. I love Mexican food so I get the nachos. The vegan nacho cheese with the other decadent sauces makes these so delectable. I usually get an acai bowl! Also very delicious. This time, since it was Tuesday, I tried the tacos. Man!!! Just look at the picture! This was a huge serving of vegan taco meat which was perfectly marinated Bursting with flavor on 4 white corn tortillas. Service was excellent as usual. The place was clean and had a great ambiance. They have so many options here. Also don't forget to get your healthy juices, detox shots, healthy one stop shop. Definite must go for good food and good health."

My husband who is a health nut ordered the Green Detox drink since he is trying to lose some inches and said it was the best one and most effective he's had. The tacos were excellent, served with four corn tortillas piled high with discada. The salsa that accompanied the dish provided just the right amount of heat. I also ordered the animal fries as a starter, which are always a must-have for me. However, I did take away one star due to the wait time. I know that whenever I order from here, I can expect to wait at least 15 minutes or more. I always try to preorder, but their website doesn't consistently list the "weekly specials.""

My kids are used to having Boba tea from a different tea company, so when we asked the barista if he can make it a special way, he looked it up on line, and my granddaughter was so happy! She loved her Boba tea. My picky son ordered the strawberry flavor, he loved it as well but he did say the boboa needed to be a little softer. Next time he's going to try the strawberry gobies instead of boboa. I also ordered some lemon cookies and a cinnamon roll, so delish! We are definitely going back! My only tip is perhaps testing the boboa (if they allow it) to see if it's to your liking. This place is great!!!"

The restaurant is very clean, offers other Mexican food and licuados for reasonable prices, and has quick service. There is a drive-thru window if you'd like food on the go. The staff is awesome and the atmosphere was great. It's a perfect size and has everything you need from cardio, weight machines, free weights and all sorts of resistant equipment. I have only been here once but my experience was very positive. I haven't tried the smoothie/shake station but I like that it's there in addition to massage therapy, tanning, and sauna. The gym plays loud music so it can be seen as a good or bad thing depending on your music preferences. Most of the patrons seemed to have decent gym etiquette (wiping down equipment, reracking weights) so that was a nice change from other gyms I've been to. Overall, I recommend this gym to anyone and especially those who are in town for a short amount of time and don't want to lose track."

Eric M. "Towards the end of last year, I was craving tamales. I got them from my usual place, and I saw an ad for theirs online. So I decided to try this place as well. And because I'm never satisfied order just one thing, I also got snacks to go with my tamales. I ordered the violet hummus, buffalo cauliflower, a Matcha granola donut, And a half dozen corn poblano and a half dozen jackfruit Rojo tamales. The Violet hummus is what I call Violet hummus. That color was SOOOOO bright, but so was the taste. It comes with toast pieces and sweet potato puree as well. Topped with sprouts and pine nuts, it was filling by itself. The Buffalo cauliflower was drowning in sauce, but that's okay, as the sauce was a nice heat. My only wish was that the florets were crunchy. The vegan ranch was a nice companion, though it would benefit with some thinning (as would I). There were a plethora of vegetarian sticks on the side. The Matcha granola donut was okay. A bit on the small side and the citrus and the coconut overpowered any green tea flavor. Now as for the tamales (which was what I went for originally), Are usually do not like red tamales or jackfruit as much, but I preferred these to the green. They had a nice rojo taste, and it wasn't to jackfruit -forward flavor but it had a nice consistency. The corn poblano tamales needed more poblano and some kind of seasoning in it. They were kind of bland and all I could really taste was the masa. Overall, this was a good experience to increase my rating from the last time I went. I would say picking up or eating there is definitely better than the long distance meal prep."

My high school was only a minutes walk away from McDonald's, Wendy's, Peter Piper Pizza, El Pollo Loco, and other fast food chains that were ready to take every penny of my lunch money.Usually by Friday, I only had $3 or $4 left. So instead of getting my grease fix, I'd go in search of an ice cream truck. Ice cream trucks in El Paso are different than ice cream trucks in any other city because of what they carry. Nachos, Hot Cheetos and cheese, Mangonadas, Mexican candies, and things that kind of resemble ice cream in taste, but not really (i.e. Tweety Bird ice cream). The Seven is what happens when someone turns an EP ice cream truck into a real business. You can seriously walk in with a few bucks and leave full off a bunch of munchies. Hot Cheetos with cheese, man! And it's only a couple of dollars here...yes, please.I've tried three different smoothies/milkshakes here. Not a fan of the smoothies with milk, but they'll substitute it for orange juice. For the most part, the smoothies are made with fresh fruit which I love (because who wants artificial flavoring)...but the coconut is not among the fresh fruit. I ordered a smoothie with coconut and while sipping a rather lumpy smoothie, found out quickly that they use shredded coconut. Pass. But other than that, my smoothie experiences at The Seven have been pleasant.Great if you're looking for a quick snack and drink!"

The thing I liked least was how the cheese made the crunchy corn dog breading get a little soggy but other than that, good stuff!Ordered a fried cheese combo with a cucumber tajin lemonade and a separate mango tajin lemonade for the girls to split. One might even say that you are entering the intersection between San Francisco, Portland, and Austin, where the land speaks the law: keep it weird. Upon entering Tippi Tea, you sense the spirit of the Earth represented in their various teas, unique vegan lattes, and even rolled ice cream. The menu is as diverse as the species of this Earth and the atmosphere enshrouds you in a mystic zen. Who would have known that all the green in this city with a small town feel would lie here. Now, lets talk about Tippi Tea.The DRINKS: Vegan drinks with a large variety of Earth conscious choicesMatcha Latte: FROM THE EARTH TO YOUR STOMACHVery rarely do we harvest greens from the Earth and end up with sipping something green in a glass cup in a café. The Matcha Latte is on full display as a pine-green concoction like a wheatgrass shot, but with a lighter green foam layered on top. Overall, it is very light in flavor, similar to strong green tea with milk. The soy milk added a creaminess without the scent of dairy, but left the latte thin and needing a source of sweetness (-1 star). The Matcha held a fresh and strong Earthiness, which was accented by a slight bitterness like a cup of coffee. If you enjoy Matcha, this is definitely the drink for you. The VERDICT: A LITTLE BIT OF SAN FRANCISCO, PORTLAND, and AUSTIN in EL PASO. Sometimes you need to get away from the mojave shades of brown and sepia of El Paso and be reminded of the vibrant greenery of this Earth. Tippi Tea brings you into a mystic café with a library of teas and tables adorned with crystals. The Matcha Latte provides robust Earthiness with light foam on the top. With slight bitter tones, this is a drink that can appeal to Matcha connoisseurs as well as millennial hobbyists. However, if you are looking to fulfill a sweet tooth, this might not be your cup of tea. Regardless, there is something relieving about finding a natural sanctuary that appeals to the vegan lifestyle and natural living in El Paso. Best believe I will be back for another round."
