"Nice room older model TV, free Wi-Fi that worked part of the time. The soda machine actually worked and had sodas in it. Pool wasn't operational, but hey early march why would it be. Would stay here again."
"This room and motel were very good! Often these places can be kind of hit or miss. With a staff of only two, I wasn't sure how they maintain, but they let us look at a couple of rooms with different bed sizes, and we settled on a nice king bed option. Almost flawless. Big TV, fridge and freezer, a hot shower, bed was comfy and the sheets even seemed in good shape. No complaints, everything worked just fine. We had a non-smoking room and I smelled nothing. They do have smoking rooms. And they are adamant no pets are allowed. At $59 for the whole night it was a bit steep- I've always wondered why hotels won't pro-rate down a bit, especially when you arrive at 11 or 12 at night- but anyhow. I'd stay here again. There is a Denny's next door for your food and coffee and tea needs. This hotel also offers some cereal and coffee and perhaps other things in the morning."
"We stayed 1 night here and were pleased with the room, first the rate was less then the tiny room with no amenities in the last place we stayed & this place was very roomy, it had a microwave, a mini fridge, a comfy sofa chair, WiFi, a phone, individually wrapped bar soap. We had a king bed, the place offered a continental breakfast in morning also . My only complaint would be the air conditioning was either too cold or the auto got confused & started blowing hot air so I just turned it off, but since I travel with my own fan its not a huge issue, just an annoyance. Oh the TV was kinda small considering the size of the room & bed, lol but we were so tired, we didn't really care. Definitely worth the price would come back! Would recommend! Would look for this hotel chain name in other states also"
"Place is super clean and the staff is really friendly. Place is in the middle of nowhere so it was really peaceful. And the price was not bad at all."
"The Boxstel experience is like a hybrid hostel and motel model. The Boxstel is truly a modern hostel experience...You want the communal spirit of being around travelers and maybe socializing but also want your own room and private bathroom? You don't want to pay for things that you won't use as you explore El Paso? Everything is barebones and exactly what a traveler needs, like free WiFi, fridge space, a bar of soap, towel, and headphones. It's quite utilitarian, but good quality. You need a space that's in the heart of Downtown in walking distance to all transport and hot spots; stadium, museums, fine dining, concert space? It's literally all that and I was able to walk and use a scooter to get around. It runs $80-$180 depending on the type of the room/bed size you want, but it will all be private and you would never bunk with a stranger. It's a unique little spot and honestly I can see it coming in handy for layovers and hangovers (from a night out). Everything is online and automated but there is a very nice attendant in the front desk. Come check them out and support local!Morning. The Boxstel came in so frickin handy after too many margaritas and shots at Elton's Dueling Piano Bar last night. After spending the night: Easy to get in and out of (locks and code worked perfectly) because instructions were everywhere. Caveat, we had to take the stairs and navigating 2 sets of stairs is difficult when you're buzzed. Thank goodness for the installed railings. We felt safe because 24 hr cameras and monitors. WEAR the Monster headphones provided. You WILL hear the extremely loud train outside, even though the hotel has great soundproofing. You will also hear the springs/squeaks/movement from your bunkmate on top 2 feet above. You will also hear the ridiculously loud and creaky floor boards everywhere. Blessedly though you can't hear other hotel guestsCrazy amount of light, but the blackout roll curtains took care of that.Shower took a about 5 minutes to warm, and the pressure was limp as a baby's wrist, but it's expected from these old buildings and the only downtown hotel I stayed at that had decent pressure was PDN, after their upgrade. It was nice that the Boxstel provided towels (even offered extra ones) a small container of soap and a small bar of soap. I've stayed at motels that didn't even give you that for double the priceIt's cold, and we couldn't figure out the remote to turn on the heat and didn't know who to call, so we kinda suffered though the cold night. On the plus side, bedding is warm, laundered, and the bed for me is amazing. I slept on the bottom bunk and the bed was firm, just the way I like it. Even after bed head and a night of tossing and turning in a strange bed. I never felt claustrophobic.I still wouldn't recommend it for families, since I'd AirBnB still for a home like experience.BUT if they're less than 3 adults, need to be close to the hot spots, want convenience, are on a tight budget, coming in and out of El Paso on a quick trip or business, or exploring El Paso, it's a great alternative option. More choices for the consumer!Boxstel - Modern Stay(915) 234-2976https://www.boxstel.com/500 W San Francisco Ave, El Paso, TX 79901"
"We stayed here on a trip to McDonald Observatory. Mind you, Ft. Davis is a small town so your hotel options are limited (no big chains here) but we found this to be a very pleasant and conveniently-located choice. What a quaint little hotel!!! It reminds me of the type of small, family-run hotels that I like to stay in while traveling small towns in Europe. It is obviously an older property but has been renovated and well-maintained. The room was a bit small (hence the 4 instead of 5 rating), lacked a refrigerator and microwave, but was very clean and comfortable: wood floors, a nice, soft bed, a writing desk, and a little sitting area in the corner with two chairs and ottomans. The bathroom is also quite small and would be difficult to navigate for a large individual. (If you're a multitasker and like to brush your teeth WHILE sitting on the toilet then you're in luck!!). We didn't have time to use the pool, but it looked very inviting. The hotel is conveniently located in town, within walking distance to most points of interest and next to a small grocery store. The store serves morning coffee (free to guests of the tourist camp), carries a lot of natural food products and has a deli with made-to-order sandwiches and a few tables. We ate here twice and enjoyed the very substantial sandwiches (large enough to share), the homemade soup ($1.99), and the homemade cookies and brownies. I would definitely stay here again!!!"
"This hotel is actually a series of rustic cabins set in a row. Rooms are large, super-clean and bright, with comfy beds and lovely warm quilts. Each cabin has a small kitchenette with a small fridge and microwave, plus a window unit with both AC and heat. Everything is well-maintained and in good working order. Each cabin has a covered porch where you can sit and take in the landscape around you for miles around. Only a few minor downsides - (a) bathroom/shower is very small - barely room to turn around, and (b) it is very hard to see the entrance from the road at night - the signpost lights are very dim (likely to reduce light pollution for the McDonald Observatory nearby). Note that the lodge longer serves breakfast or BBQ, so you'll have to head into town for food. Mountain Trails lodge isn't fancy by any means, but it covers all the bases and is our favorite place to stay in Fort Davis!"
"The rooms didn't come with a coffee maker. When I asked at the front desk I got a very disinterested "uh, yeah, there's coffee in the lounge." Which, there wasn't.There were cockroaches in the jacuzzi area. The furniture in the room had chunks, like, broken off of it.The continental breakfast left a LOT to be desired - like any source of protein or fruit (other than the red delicious apples). The carpets were pretty dirty, even after being vacuumed. The water in the showers was luke-warm at best - even first thing in the morning.Just overall, I wouldn't recommend this place."
"Honestly, the room was clean glad I didn't have to deal with what issues other customers had. Everything worked. Check in was easy, I did ask for a first floor room because I didn't want to bring all the luggage upstairs but the lady in the front desk said she didn't have any and put us somewhere near the elevator in a ADA room, basically a room w someone w disabilities which meant we didn't have a full vanity. Ehh it was one night and not bad for thr price I paid."
"A basic hotel, nothing fancy or glamorous about it, ITS SIMPLY A PLACE TO SLEEP. I slept comfortably, it was quiet, the AC nice and cold and the pillows were comfy. It's walking distance from various restaurants and gas stations, if you go down the road past Pilot, you'll find Walgreens, Dollar Tree, Little Caesars, and a grocery store called La Féria, as well as other local restaurants. Wet n Wild waterpark is also located across the highway. If all you're looking for is a place to get some rest that won't put a dent in your pocket like the Best Western across the street, then this place is a better choice. There's usually one or two truckers catching some zzz and their semi-trucks parked on the side of the road. Like I mentioned, it's not fancy, but you'll be able to get some rest and won't have to pay over $100. My room was clean. No complaints."
"So the first thing is there are not many choices in Benson, Az. Copper Stay got better ratings than the nearby Quality Inn and was cheaper. The owner was very nice and accommodating, when we checked in. Once in the room, we discovered his housekeeping staff needs to pay more attention to detail. So one of the queen beds was missing a fitted sheet, leaving the cover to sleep on (no thank you). Luckily we used the other one. There was a very dirty bath towel, complete with a ball of hair, hanging from the bathroom door. The floors were dirty with small chunks and splinters of wood, so it had not been vacuumed. Lastly, the window with no screen was left open, so it took a while to warm up. The bed and pillows were comfortable enough and it served its purpose for tired travelers, but some attention to basic details would definitely up the star rating for the Copper Stay."
"Imagine, the year,1956,the town Marfa Texas, the Hotel Paisano. The Filming of the movie Giant is scheduled to start filming soon. Then one by one, James Dean,Rock Hudson Elisabeth Taylor and others start checking into the beautiful Historic Hotel Paisano. What a time that must have been."

Copper Manor doesn't look like much from the outside, but opening the door, we found a gigantic king bedroom where mirrors, bathroom tiles, and even the bureau sparkled. The cleaning staff has incredible pride in their work, and it shows. The room not only looked wonderful, it smelled wonderful, and the linens were every bit as spotless and clean-smelling as the rest of the room. The fridge was big enough to have a separate freezer compartment, and it, the microwave, and tv all worked wonderfully. The bed was just the right mix of soft & firm, the shower had great pressure, and the soap had a truly lovely scent. Our room even included an extra sitting area with a super-comfy overstuffed chair, and a desk had we anything to work on. All of this at about half the cost of a standard room at the chains in town! The only room for improvement is the continental breakfast, which consists of cereal options or pre-packaged danishes. The selection wasn't lacking, mind you, but making arrangements with a local bakery for fresh morning pastries would be above & beyond.

This hotel is past it's prime. Thankfully it was just a place to lay our heads for the night and we didn't have to spend any real time here.Pros: Right off I-10 and very convenient. We were hauling a trailer so there was ample parking where we could see the vehicle from our room. Cheap rate. Really, really nice front desk clerk that checked us in.Cons: Our room had a funny odor. The door to our room was really difficult to operate and closing it was downright difficult as the bolts kept sticking out. Water temperature in the shower kept fluctuating from hot to cool to hot to warm. Started the faucet in the tub and flipped it the shower but tons of water kept coming out of the faucet and filled the tub half full while I showered. Then when I was done, the water would NOT turn off!!!! Turns out the hot/cold controls were kind of mixed up and you had to turn them in opposite directions which made no sense in my head while I was standing there dripping wet and cold. Lack of cleanliness all around. Didn't even bother with the free breakfast - the only hot thing was waffles, everything else is cold or packaged. Overall: Was it worth the price? Barely. Like I said, our rate was cheap and we literally just crashed in bed, slept, took a shower and left.

Cool vibe and interesting concept. Check-in is like Airbnb...enter the lobby and room with a keypad. A little noisy ( it is across the street from an active train depot). The rooms are very clean, but the cubes are kinda funky (see pic below)Overall, a good value in El Paso.

These great rustic cabins are perfect for those needing a place to crash after a day of exploring the Davis Mountains. Our family of 4 stayed in the 2 bed cabin. All have a little kitchenette with a mini fridge and coffee maker. Perfect for storing sandwich fixings and breakfast needs. The stars at night are beyond amazing. We were cozy and happy the 3 nights we stayed and the owners are very friendly. We would happily stay here again.

"This is my first review of my hotel stays for my road trip over the next four to six weeks. The Grand Motor Inn is very clean and tidy, both inside and out. Because of my bad shoulders, and my room was upstairs (no elevator, ugh!), the desk clerk helped bring my luggage upstairs, which I thought was very thoughtful of him. And, when I went to give him a tip, he turned it down! And the next morning, the same guy was on shift, and he helped me get my luggage to the car. And again, did not accept a tip!I had parked right in front of the lobby in order to check in, and unload my luggage, which was a red zone. So when I went to move my car, the clerk told me that I could leave it there. However, the driving instructor in me couldn't handle that. Haha. But he did let me park my car in front of the low brick work, which is still right in front of the lobby. Now I don't mind the carpet being a bit messy, as overall the room is very clean and tidy. But, the bed is firmer than I would like (a decent nights' sleep). The A/C works well. Though, the cycling on/off is a bit noisy. Now, this will bother some people, but not others. While I enjoy having the A/C blow directly on me while driving, and after working outside, I don't like it blowing on me while I'm trying to sleep). And, there was no way to deflect it, except for bringing the sheet all the way up.At present it is still daylight, so I don't know what effect outside lighting will have on the room. But if I need to add anything, I will edit the review tomorrow.Several of the electrical outlets are loose. Either the receptacle would push in, when I try to plug in something. Or, was so loose that the slightest tug would dislodge my cell phone charger.Other than the carpet, the noisy cycling of the A/C and a little bit of mildew in the grout of the shower tiles, the place is really very nice, and quiet! And, the night time view with a room, was night time! The water in the bathroom was nice and hot and the pressure was pretty good too. However, I was surprised that there were no grab bars in the shower.Edit 1: Well, I'm glad I'm not here for the view. While I do overlook the courtyard and pool, I also have a great view (sarcasm intended) of the roof of the restaurant kitchen.Edit 2: Forgot to mention the Wi-Fi. While I'm use to using it at home, to help save bandwidth on my cell phone bill, I don't use it very often in the field... However, the Wi-Fi here was very reliable, and imo very fast. At no time, did the connection drop. Nor, was connecting an issue."
"Pros: Huge room, huge bed, clean, AC is good & not loud, desk to work at, large TV, fridge and micro, new bath countertop, nice desk person, room appeared freshly painted. Cons: It smelled pretty funky (I aired the room out for 30 min and that took care of it). Room needed to be deep cleaned with a soapy cloth- old built-up dirt on commonly touched surfaces. They don't use fitted sheets, so when you move in bed the bottom sheet immediately comes off the mattress, Super annoying. BYO toilet paper, the stuff here is like perforated cardboard. Carpet needed cleaning but was well vacuumed.Train tracks RIGHT nest to the motel. For me that's fine as I love the sound of trains, but if you are a light sleeper it would be a real problem as the trains ran during the night.Good for the price. I might stay here again. But there are a lot of motels so I might try another."
"Do not stay here - it was the worst road trip motel experience I've ever had. I really don't like giving negative reviews but my conscience won't let this one go. I frequently drive the 10 interstate and this place was open at 1am when I was too exhausted to continue my drive from CA to San Antonio TX. The other motels were sold out and I was out of options so I took a room at the Deming Motel. I'd rather stayed at the Bates Motel. The lighting was terrible so I didn't initially see the problems. Plus I'm 53 and didn't have on my glasses. Embarrassing. But by the time I got in my pajamas and laid down I was too tired to get back on the road again. Bugs. Dirty wash cloth. Disgusting. After a night of no sleep I checked out and advised the lady clerk at the desk of the conditions and she had no interest in my concerns. I asked for the owners contact information so I could voice my concerns. Desk clerk denied, so I left a handwritten note. Never received a response. The one excuse the clerk offered was that the bugs were due to stormy weather conditions. Wow, I feel sorry for anyone who is stuck in the middle of the desert with only the Deming Motel as an option. Travelers tip::: sleep in your car."
"I've stayed at the Chiricahua Mountain Lodge a couple of times during my visit to this beautiful part of Arizona. The facilities are comfortable, clean, and modern. The setup is lodge-style, meaning that most of the rooms have several beds around the interior perimeter with a central gathering area a separate kitchen, separate bathrooms and at least one semi-private room. The lodge rooms are rented by the room. Not by the person, meaning that big parties receive tremendous value for the dollar.I'm a big fan! This is a huge improvement to the existing lodging facilities here in far western New Mexico."
"For the value, this is by far the best place in Benson to stay. I will not say what I pay per night, but this has to be the cheapest motel in Arizona. Nancy is the nicest lady I have ever come across at a hotel/motel. Room includes FREE WI-FI, mini fridge, TV, closet, and bathroom. Despite all of the beatles crawling around outside, I have never found one in my room."
"Hosts Clark and Adam provided us with a great show of West Texas hospitality. We stayed in Room 6 for our visit to Marfa, and loved every bit of it. The room was well decorated with vintage West Texas furniture and it had a rustic feel to it. There was also a well-stocked kitchen area and spacious bathroom included in the dwelling. Clark and Adam were informative and responsive to any questions posed. We found this listing through Airbnb and jumped on it right away. If we come back through this area, this will be our first choice for lodging, hands down!"
"Jamie and I spent a lovely Saturday night here, because it was reported to be the best place in town to stay. Based on our experience, I will wager a large sum that those reviews were correct. This is a newer house that was built to look and feel like an older one, with reclaimed tiles in the kitchen and bathrooms, old oak floors, and a nice big porch. The rooms are very clean, and the community kitchen is bright and beautiful. Free snacks are healthy and delicious, and the breakfasts are basic and tasty.Highly recommended place to stay in a beautiful area- enjoy."
"We stayed here over the Labor Day weekend and this B & B is a great place to just to R & R! We loved the patio with the grape vines, plants and mini pond. Enjoyed every evening out there with drinks and cigars! Sue is a great Inn Keeper/Hostess, we enjoyed her company. She served us our continental breakfast included with the room. It was enough for us with coffee, juice, toast or bagels with butter, jam or jelly and cream cheese and a nice bowl of fresh fruit. A full breakfast is available for an additional cost. Sue will take good care of you!8/30 - 9/2/2013"
"Not sure why this hotel is rated so low. Perhaps it was managed by a different company in the past. It is obvious that this hotel was recently updated and renovated (from my understanding it is converting to Days Inn). I was very impressed with my room, pool/hot tub area, front desk area and parking lot. The hotel is well lighted, safe and quiet. Room was equipped with a microwave, mini refrigerator, hair dryer, cable TV, great lighting, excellent window blinds, and a nice desk area and another table and chair. No coffee maker (these will be coming to rooms in near future), but they have juice and coffee available in lobby area in morning (breakfast is also to be added in near future). There are also a number of resturants and stores in the area. Staff is friendly and price was very good, and probably the best lower priced room I have ever stayed in. My bed was also very comfortable, room extremely clean, AC worked well and efficiently, all linen and towels fresh and clean, and the toilet paper even had the end water marked. Only things I thought could of been better is shower waste pressure was a little lower than I perfer and towels not as soft and full. Just be aware they require a $100 room deposit which the CC authorization is cancelled the day of checkout provided the room is not damaged. Definately recommend this hotel and will stay here again if in area. I also had a nice conversation with Cynthia during mu check out."
"I came here to escape my broken a/c on a 100°+ night, turns out they have a swamp cooler and the room was just barely cooler than my houseI have no regrets. For $60 I got to experience a little bit of history. The tiny room was adorable and the bathrooms were shockingly clean and tidy (considering the entire floor shared 2 bathrooms)."
"Reading the reviews after finding out we would be staying here for work...I was nervous. I know that the town is a "company town" and is all about the mines. We were setting up a Dollar General in nearby Cliffton. We arrived late in the evening around 9pm after working a full day then driving 6 hours. The girl working the desk was very nice and helpful with directions and where we could eat at the late hour.Got in our room. Nice large room. Refrigerator and micro wave worked well. Nice big bathroom and sink area. Flat screen tv was good size and the beds were very comfortable. The building from the outside is dated....with soul. The inside the part that counts...is updated, clean and comfortable. Everything worked. My review is for 2 rooms because we checked out after 3 night's and the company had to book us another night because of a problem at the store....... and the staff once again were great even when we over slept and kinda of pushed the checkout time.I only gave 4 stars because...though they do have a breakfast...it is for sure a grab and go affair. With an improved breakfast an easy 5 stars."
"Clean, cute, quiet place on Montana. It's obvious the owners put some money into this throw back motel. The rooms are a good size and the beds/pillows were comfortable. Well appointed furniture as well. Nice big flat screen on the wall. Bathroom was clean and plenty of hot water. Room temperature was easily controlled."
"Loved it! Great location right downtown, you can walk anywhere--eateries, bars, coffee, museum. I wasn't happy to hear I really had no control over the heat--but it was comfortable all day/night. Comfortable bed & pillows, 2 chairs that faced the tv , fridge & microwave rounded out the room. No housekeeping but I didn't miss it. Definitely recommend."
"We spent just one night at the Lundeen Inn of the Arts, but could easily have enjoyed a week there. It's an amazing combination of bed & breakfast, art gallery, and a welcome change from staying at motels. The place is family-owned and -run, and as a guest there you are welcomed and made to feel at home by Linda Lundeen and her daughter, Lydia. Each room is themed to a particular artist. We enjoyed the Georgia O'Keeffe room, which was bathed in natural light. Another visitor mentioned that their room had but one small window. This is an older and decidedly eclectic place, so don't expect a modern room with all the amenities. The place's charm more than makes up for it.Good coffee is ready at 6:30 am along with pastries, with a hot homemade breakfast served at 8:30. Fruit and juice are available. Linda Lundeen visits with everyone during breakfast. At age 86, she is sharp, spunky, and has a positive outlook. She reminded me greatly of my sister. We would stay at Lundeen's again in a heartbeat."
"We were delighted to see how funky and sweet this spa was. We mid century decor so this made my day. We had the mandarin suite and it was spacious and comfortable with everything we needed. The soaker tubs were a great way to end the day. We will definitely be back!"
"Loved this lovely Inn. We arrived late and was offered dinner and wine on the house. The hosts Alice and Celeste was so nice and friendly and made you feel at home. The tour of the Church was so interesting. Truly a place you want to stay when passing thru Hatch."
"A friend and I stayed here overnight about a year ago on a road trip. As we drove up, we were greeted by a deer, so that was really cool (we're from phoenix, so that's an unusual sight). We had an upstairs room that was comfortable enough and huge. Plenty of space for me to do yoga in the morning. This place is also about as close to Carlsbad np as you can get, which was great. The price was high for what you get, but it's probably just for the location. I'd stay here again."
"My good friend and I decided to meet up in El Paso, since we hadn't seen each other in over 2 years. I chose the hotel, because I had read great reviews and was impressed by their Covid protocols and how their staff was fully vaccinated! It had absolutely Lovely amenities like bathrobes, steamer, impressive minibar, and a beautiful wardrobe. Each room, hallway, and common area had neat artwork and some was even local! The design was modern and upscale with marble showers, Art Deco pieces In the lobby, and beautifully mobile lights in their restaurant. Oh, and the best part was the location-downtown and close to everything (with a security guard, Victor, who greeted us and helped us find places to patronize)! So, why the 3 stars? Sigh. I wanted this to be a 5 star review, really I did. I was so excited. So, here's a breakdown of what didn't work out for me. 1) The room I booked wasn't available at checkin, so I agreed to upgrade to a higher floor at the suggestion of the front desk staff member even though I mentioned the floor on which my friend was staying2) Poor sound insulation - heard a loud party and doors slamming until 3am3) My reservation included breakfast but I was charged for my cafe purchases both times 4) The pillows were so uncomfortable and I woke up with a sore neck each morning 5) When I checked out, I was informed that the staff knew about a bachelorette party on the floor (where my room was) but assumed I was part of this party. I'm not sure what caused such assumptions when I shared I was visiting with my friend. I had really high hopes for a Design Hotel in Texas, but I'm on the fence about staying here next time I'm in El Paso."
"Old reviews and pictures for Chase Suite Hotel made me a little weary about a stay here, but my boyfriend and I won a night here and they said it was in their newly renovated rooms so I was all on board. We made it to CSH shortly after check-in started and I was helped as soon as I walked in the door. In just a couple of seconds I had two key cards and a map. We drove over towards our building and realized we wouldn't be able to park in front of our actual building, but on the side of a different one. I will say there is adequate parking for the lot though. If you actually had a lot of luggage that you needed to haul to your suite, you can pull on to a tiny road they have that follows the back of the lot and unload. The renovations are great! As far as I could tell, they're not done with all the rooms so you could end up in a room that has yet to be redone. The outside of the buildings looked like they needed some renovations too, but nothing crazy... just a new coat of paint. Our room was pretty nice and they did a great job of sectioning off the "bedroom" from the "living room" and kitchen. The bed was a king sized, clean, and adorned with down pillows... just the way I like it. The kitchen was equipped with all the plates, glasses, silverware, and utensils we could need as well as a new stove, dishwasher, microwave, full-sized fridge, and two bar stools at the oversized counter. My only gripe about the whole room is that the drawers in the kitchen aren't on a track. I nearly dropped all of the silverware on the floor. The "living room" is a small sitting area in front of the fireplace. Nice! I really liked the bathroom and it looked like they redid the floor as well.I didn't try out their wi-fi because who uses their phones and laptops during a staycation? But I do know that it's available and they give you the password as soon as you check in. As far as the rest of the amenities go, they have two pools, a jacuzzi, a Continental breakfast in the morning, complimentary happy hour on Monday-Thursday, and free access to the nearest Planet Fitness (about six miles away).Out of all the amenities we did try out the Continental breakfast. Unfortunately, this, I wasn't impressed by. They had a good variety of choices... four cereal options, yogurt, bagels, bread, orange juice, coffee, tea, scrambled eggs, and potatoes. I didn't try the scrambled eggs, but the potatoes were cold. The flow was good, but it honestly just felt like the staff put the least amount of effort towards the breakfast and morning experience. There was one lady that was standing behind the counter the whole time doing a crossword and she would occasionally look up and say "good morning" only to return to her crossword again and never engage in conversation with those standing only inches away from her waiting for their toast to be done. She actually didn't come across as that friendly either. At one point my boyfriend went to get a bagel and the tongs had disappeared (someone had put them inside the bread case on the bottom shelf... not easy to see if you don't bend over) and she started yelling at him. I understand using tongs, but clearly he wasn't aware there were tongs and there was absolutely no reason to yell. A man came over (possibly a manager) and placed tongs on top of the handle (doesn't really seem like a good place for tongs) and within minutes they had disappeared again. I think the breakfast staff could've been a lot more welcoming and involved with those staying at the hotel. Would've been nice for them to ask how our stay was while I was waiting for a bagel or start some small talk or give me some insider scoop about the El Paso area (hey, they don't know I live here). It wouldn't deter me from staying here again, but it also doesn't entice me.I've checked the prices for these suites and they're doable. A night is less than $100. It isn't fancy, but this is a good hotel for someone who is planning on being in the area for a bit because of the amenities in the room. Instead of going out to eat for every single meal, you can cook in your room. And I mean actually cook, none of that microwaved TV dinner stuff. Overall, a good hotel with wonderful renovations done! I'd stay here again for another EP staycation."
"A lovely hotel - used to be the Camino Real when i was younger, and is now Paso Del Norte.... But those same marble steps and the marble staircase is still there. I have photos on it from over 20 years ago. And photos on it from less than 1 year ago. Paso Del Norte is located smack dap in the middle of downtown. It offers luxury rooms, amazing dining options (1700 is my favorite), multiple bars and even rooftop pools and lounges! 1700 is luxury steak dining. The Dome Bar is really neat. The theatre and San Jacinto Plaza are less than a block away. It's a great place yo relax, stay, or just hang at for the evening."
"What an amazingly fantastic overnight! This was my sixth overnight at one of the newest (~1year) mote on my 2-week (15-23APR2023) biketour of central NM/CDT, and it was delightful, with an exuberant welcome from the owner/operator. The bed was firm, the usual/expected flat screen TV/microwave/ mini-fridge and ice was available in reception. Of course, excellent WiFi is a given. I had the pleasure of meeting another (motoring) traveller, Leslie, who resides close to Old Mesilla and welcomed me to visit him there after calling ahead. The small community of Reserve is surprising, an interesting/thriving/growing Catron County seat. I was extremely glad to have arrived with ample daylight as my Gimpwalking took me across the great wide 2-lane bridge into the heart of the ~6-8 buildings downtown. I was very impressed with an elaborate sculpture, depicting historical significance here. The food truck provided me an excellent taco meal, that I ate while resting in my great room in The Mountaineer. It definitely has my coveted "iWheel of Approval!""
"Yes, yet another historic hotel lovingly preserved. Thank Goodness this place hasn't been torn down. Not many of these remain. Ft Davis is a historic army post created to protect travelers along the San Antonio to El Passo Trail. This little spec of a town is well preserved. Being the county seat there is a courthouse, hotel, bank and library not unlike what you may have found back in the day.The hotel is simple and as close to the original s you will find anywhere.Check it out. You wont be sorry."
"So far check-in was easy. I wish I could have checked in before 3 though. I have a nice room with a king-sized bed. Breakfast tomorrow is 6-9 am. Then I will get a taxi to where I need to go."
