Black Bear Diner - El Paso

Black Bear Diner - El Paso

Sherman T. "Had been waiting to visit this location since opening and we seemed to have picked a perfect day to do so. We initially tried for Fathers day but the wait was just a tad over what we felt comfortable doing. Also as a recommendation to other people, this is a diner, which means it is not that large of a place and large parties will take time to be seated as the accommodations are a tad lackluster in that sense. Their food as always was as delicious as their arizona locations that we frequent throughout the year. I had their Country Fried Steak eggs benedict and as always the portions were good and hearty. The fruit was deliciously crisp and in season and honestly everything felt and tasted great. The atmosphere is one you would expect and it does feel very active throughout your meal. Please remember they do have fudge as well as other goodies you can take afterwards. This is inside the Petro station where there used to be a Skillet Diner so please don't go in expecting this to be a large establishment like its other iterations. Also shoutout to Petro for awesome amenities while traveling."

This is a cozy/delicious little option that was quite the surprise after having tried a few other locations in SC that were all closed. Food was simple but amazing...all made to order. What a great find! It'll be bookmarked once this review is done! Well done - enjoy."

Abigail A. "If you want a great selection of beers on tap for a cheap price and some decent grub, Single Jack Restaurant should be on your radar. The have a full bar, but if you're looking for good beers on tap, you can get options like Dargoon IPA, Blue Moon, and Orange Blossom. 16 oz will cost you $4 while a 25 oz will cost you $1 more. A flight of 4 samples will also cost you $5. They also serve moscow mules and other speciality cocktails.Single Jack has two menus, where a majority of the options are themed around mining. They have classic options like pasta, burgers, wings, and sandwiches. They also serve enchiladas, tacos, nachos, and some other classic bar foods. If you want something more substantial, there are steak options. When I went to this restaurant, we all ordered the Boss's Burger, which is a homemade beef patty with onions and jalapenos mixed in. It comes with classic toppings on the side, free cheese options, and 2 free extra sides. Any addition toppings will cost $1/topping. It then comes with either french fries or curly fries. I chose the Boss's Burger with pepper jack cheese, bacon and guacamole with curly fries. They give a substantial amount of curly fries with the burger and garlic aioli on the side. The patty was large, cooked well-done, and slightly dry. Service was a little slow, but there was only one waitress. If you have plenty of time and want to grab some beers and food with friends, this is a great option for you!"

From the minimalist interior to the extensive wine list to the comfort food menu, it's a joy to spend time here.My meal of an incredible cucumber salad (that I would eagerly want to make at home), salmon, and key lime pie was a great finish to an amazing day in one of my favorite little towns."

Daniel D. "This is a delicious family owned restaurant with delicious food and HUGE portions. The owner joked with us that we would not leave hungry and boy was she right. The special for that day was chicken fried steak which came with potatoes, peas, salad, and dessert, for very modest price. I also found myself enjoying my friends' catfish, with homemade tartar sauce. This is a great choice for dining for passing by travelers."

I recommend this place completely, it is a little pricey in terms of cost of food but I do also agree it is great food for what you're getting. The service was awesome they made sure to greet us as we came in and left and we patient with us the whole time while we took forever to order. Recommend giving this place a chance and don't think you'll be disappointed"

Karla V. "I had a positive experience at Fort Bliss Rod and Gun Club. They get a 4 out of 5 because of their low prices and beautiful/caring/amazing costumer service. Their Grill was not open. At the counter there was only one employee. Quickly there was a huge line and she was very busy. She listened, she was patient, informative and eagerly took care of everyone. The facility itself is not new yet at the same time is simply fine. You pay, you go outside drive to your range lane, you set up and shoot. The range staff visibly comes by every so often to ensure everything is being handled with care and to ensure everyone has the range badge. Yes, this range is all outdoors. You share the range with others. With proper communication everything runs smoothly. If you are here to improve your game and every so many shots you have to check your card yo have to walk and check yourself, while everyone waits but not a bad deal at all. Affordable and comfortable."

Lisa A. "This is a beautiful, fancy venue with amazing views of Downtown El Paso and the Franklin Mountains! I was invited to a couple of Christmas parties/luncheons awhile back with a previous employer. The events were held around one week before Christmas both times. Everything was decorated beautifully, Christmas decor galore...the works! Beautiful Christmas trees and more! They weren't serving alcohol at the gatherings (unfortunately). I drank some iced tea and water. I had a salad with some type of chicken, rolls and steamed veggies, rice. They had different types of cake for dessert like cheesecake, chocolate cake, cookies, etc. The food was pretty good. I think I'm mostly giving them five stars because of its location and beautiful views. The El Paso Club also gets five stars because the waitstaff was polite and attentive throughout these luncheons. The party hosts gave away prizes and played/sang Christmas carols. This made the luncheons more festive. This would be a great venue for large parties like weddings, company/corporate gatherings. You have to be a member or get invited to a party here in order to visit. You can't just show up whenever. Who knows if I'll get invited again? I'm just glad I was able to go. The El Paso Club is located on the 18th floor of the Chase building on East Main."

The portions are huge, so you definitely get that you pay for. Service was great. It's a family owned restaurant and the history behind it makes you love it even more. It's not as fancy as a Dennys, but you certainly feel welcomed! Better come hungry, this place will leave you feeling like a stuffed turkey on Thanksgiving!"

I let him know that my father and his father would come here after baseball games- as if it were a legend. While he reluctantly agreed - air doesn't look like much from the outside- he knows that places like this can be extraordinarily good. As we say I looked up the history and wow nostalgia and pride for an amazing lifetime the lord has graced me with. And the burger was rated top notch by the best food critic this side of the Mississippi. Thanks to the staff for a great experience!!"
