We found Burro Mountain four years ago and fell in love with this place. We now have a space there and try to go every few weeks for the weekend. There are many great people who live there, visit, and also go for the weekends. The scenery is beautiful. We get to see deer, squirrels, hummingbirds, blue jays, woodpeckers, cows, donkeys, javelins, and more. Others have seen bears and mountain lions. I high recommend you come visit. If you do not have a trailer or RV, no problem. They rent lodges, RVs, and cabins. There are also many trails to ride on or to take a walk. The Homestead also provides events each month to have fun and get to know others, always optional. Come and enjoy nature at Burro Homestead.

There is a new crew in the office now that are very pleasant to interact with and never did see a camp host. This last trip over labor day it almost seemed like everyone was more relaxed and enjoying themselves more. Had a great time and we are going back!

We found out about this place from our usual ATV trip we do in Springerville, AZ. Decided to take our new toy hauler out there for a test run. As soon as we pulled in the campground and started setting up, some people stopped by and offered to let us tag along on an ATV run in the morning. Since we did not know the area at all, we ended up riding with their group all week and had a blast. If you are into ATV's and are looking for a nice place to camp, this is it. Everybody was super nice and friendly there. They have pot lucks and events at the corral (covered picnic area with a big firepit in the middle). The full hookups and option to use their showers and toilets was nice. It seems a lot of people lease the camp sites long term and leave their trailers there. Still plenty of overnight sites. And the fact that you can access the Gila National Forest from the campground on your quad is a huge bonus.

This is a really nice RV Park, set amidst lots of trees. Very friendly people, many who live here full-time or who leave an RV here so they can visit often. We don't travel with an ATV but saw lots of people with them, and heard there are tons of trails around here. We hadn't been set up for an hour when 3 deer wandered just behind our large window to graze. Our dog was very excited to see them so close but he didn't bark, so they hung out for several minutes before moving on.The only downside is that this park is at the end of a 7 mile dirt road. It's worth it though - just make sure all your gear is well-stowed!

A group of us were looking for a new area to ride our atv's. After the power of the internet, we decided to head to BMH. Our group was a bit hesitant because we almost never camp at a park, but as usual, they said what the heck, let's go. We were greeted by Wayne and Dewey. Those guys made us feel at home right from the start. This place has a central firepit with wood stacked nearby, showers, ice (very important), etc They have many events if you choose (don't let your friends sing at Karaoke, unless they know how to sing). There many deer that roam in and out of camp also. This place rocks and is a great hidden secret!

Good place to camp short term. Not good for annual sites which I have. High association fee of 800.00 which is required and resident must be voted in by board members yearly ( so be nice and don't complain ), as well as a 300.00 yearly fee. Not friendly to my wife and I who are full timers but are friendly to overnight campers. This full timer not treated well as I refuse to join their clique. No diversity as far as race goes and were unfriendly to my disabled wife who has bi-polar illness. No handicap ramp into office. Speed bumps are too high for cars causing them to bottom out. Roads not well maintained and management will not take responsibility for any damage incurred by roads. County road to get into park is dirt and is 7 miles long and not well maintained (washboard). Office becomes retaliatory if you complain, threatening to terminate your lease with one office worker stating, " We checked with our lawyers and we can do it "! Much favouritism toward preferred residences. Not very many things to if you do not own an ATV. No pool but there is a horse shoe pit. Rest-rooms and showers are clean and there is a laundromat. Park is pet friendly but no aggressive breeds allowed. No Saturday mail delivery. Regular power outages and power hook-up boxes for permanent residences in desperate need of upgrades. I have personally seen blackened and burned boxes. Has 30 amp and 50 amp service. There is no store or propane sales. There is ice but cannot get to it unless people are in the office. Nearest store is 23 miles away. Most overnight sites are not shaded. There is one cabin that has everything including coffee pot, radio, silverware, microwave, and small refrigerator as well as a toilet and shower, but is a bit expensive. There is a pretty nice lodge with two rental rooms, an exercise room, small library, and a pool table but needs new pool sticks. Also has a full kitchen, but this is locked most of the time. This is an adult park with no children allowed if full time. Would not recommend full time residence here but is quite beautiful for short term stays with lots of ATV trails.
