Budget Rent A Car

It's a budget car rental, but the guy working the desk knew what he was doing and was helpful AF! Even went as far as pulling the vehicle around for me. Just be sure to honor your set appointment (5-10 min prior) & he will not give you any troubles.

DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR AND DO NOT RENT HERE, or if you do MAKE SURE TO GET AND CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE LEAVING ! Can't remember the woman's name but she for sure played me ! I had an entire conversation with her about prepaying for gas as Budget's gas prices are $1.75 and currently we're sitting at about $2.17. We laughed and joked about it. My email confirmation said $144 for the rental. I was charged $159 (never looked at the receipt but I figured I prepaid for gas so it sounded about right) fast forward 4 days now it's time to return. I don't fill up cause hello I prepaid lol. I hand her the keys she asks if I need a receipt I say no (WISH I WOULDN'T HAVE DONE THAT)I check my CC before I was even in the car (I got an alert within 30 seconds of her running my card ) and I see an $89 charge it's pending so in my mind I'm thinking the rental was less than I was originally quoted and the larger $159 will just fall off because remember I said I got an alert 30 seconds after she ran my card. But she never followed me outside. Never checked the car/gas gauge never left her seat so how would she know if I filled up ? So I don't think anything of it. 5 days later both charges are still there so of course I call Budget and the same woman who helped me is who answered. She remembered me and everything about me EXCEPT the conversation about me prepaying for gas !! ARE YOU KIDDING ME !!?? So when I asked why was the total from my email confirmation different from their total she than stated they add an EXTRA 10% fee on top. Mind you that's stated NO WHERE ON THE WEBSITE, EMAIL CONFIRMATION NOR WAS IT TOLD TO ME VERBALLY! I honestly feel like she saw that I didn't ask for the receipt and jumped at the chance to charge me more. So of course I called my CC company and told them what happened. They gave my a temporary credit while they "investigate" will update with results as they come in. Smh

The website says they pick up but when I called to confirm, the man on the phone said they don't. The office is literally just a desk in a hotel room that smells like mold and rotting carpet. They wouldnt honour my corporate discount because they said they were just a franchise and not a corporate office so they had a completely different system. I came to this place because it had the highest rating of all the Budget Car Rentals near me but if this is the kind of things I can expect from the highest rated location in El Paso, I can't imagine the shit shows that go on at the other locations. However, it was the cheapest rental car I've even gotten even without my discount so of you don't mind sketchy 'franchises' that stink of rot and need a cheap ride, this is the place for you.

The young lady working the office was not qualified to run the business without supervision. Our truck was dirty upon pickup, no plate (which was corrected), and the car we returned upon driving there was not recorded as checked-in. A $160 rental hit the credit card as $1,100. Wasting time on the phone to now get corrected. Rent somewhere else. Budget Mgt: Take care of your Employee's lack of training in Operations and Customer Service. Also, maybe provide her a better office and lot so the job can be done correctly. Working out of a rented Quality Inn room is not the way to run a business.
