Bowlins Mesilla Book Center

One of the other shops recommended this bookstore so I decided to stop it. Unfortunately, I left empty handed because of their lack of customer service.When I say customer service I'm not asking for extraordinary white glove treatment. I walked and the gentleman behind the counter looked up but couldn't be so much as bothered to greet me and carried on reading his own book. My friend and I were the only people in the store so he wasn't helping anyone and we made legit eye contact so he definitely saw us. I saw a few interesting titles that I purchased on Amazon. I would have much rather given my money to a local small business but in this case they didn't earn it. The whole interaction just left a bad taste in my mouth.

I love supporting local bookstores. Therefore, I stopped into Bowlin's Mesilla Book Center today while visiting Mesilla. The books are largely organized-ish, but I left unsure as to whether it was a mix of both new and used books or largely new books. Nonetheless, the Center's slight disarray is part of its charm. Unlike many of the surrounding kitschy t-shirt shops, its gifts have character and are unique. I found a new copy of Miller's A CHILDREN'S BIBLE. Both the owner and young lady who rang me up were engaging and personable. Support local businesses, especially bookstores!

Cute little book store with a good sized selection of books. I love the feel inside of this location, they have soaps and lotions available as well. I didnt have as much time as i wanted to check out all of the books they had, but my friends all found a book to purchase. That's a plus!!

Crammed with books, fantastic store to browse in. Really well-chosen inventory. Nice children's' section; also has some gifts. Located on the main plaza.

I love this bookstore-a great selection of books & especially writings about New Mexico . Before moving here, we were informed by friends to visit this shop. We did & found they also have a great children's section. I was teaching music at the time & found several books to integrate in my classes. Super choices& very knowledgeable sales people. They will answer questions & give u as much info as u want. Go visit this place. We want to keep our special small businesses continuing to exist!

Made a short visit to this most delightful, petite, grand little book shop last Fall while visiting family in Mesilla. Huge treasures are often found in the smallest of places... and this bookshop had plenty of them. Armed with limited funds and limited time I still managed to walk out of the store with four exciting books on the Mexican Revolution. Looking forward to a better equipped visit in the near future. This was a remarkable find. We went there because of the children's books, of which we bought several. I also spent time exploring the remarkable stacks of well organized history books. I doubt there is a better bookstore in all of Southern New Mexico for local and regional history.
