Came here for breakfast with some family members that live in town. Nice place but I wish I would have had something else. I had a simple breakfast bacon and egg burrito. The machaca that my wife got looked good and I saw another table with a good looking bowl of menudo. Unfortunately, my bacon had a funny smell as though it might have been cooked on a grill with something else or worse a griddle that had not been cleaned in a while. It's funny because when I asked about the 2 item burrito specifically if that included the egg, the waitress told me yes but those were not the right prices. They have gone up. Thought that was kind of odd thing to say. Ever notices those menus that all the prices have stickers because they didn't want to reprint them. I used to think that was tacky but now I see at least they tried.

So happy we went here to eat for our first visit to Douglas! The staff was so sweet & accommodating. Our food was DELICIOUS! I ordered the ranchero style shrimp tacos & I was shocked at how much shrimp was actually in my tacos. My hubby ordered one of the burros & he absolutely enjoyed it. The restaurant itself has the elements of eating at a good friend's home, open & bright lighting. And the restrooms were SO CLEAN!!!!!! Will be returning!

The name is apt - it's located perhaps two blocks from the border crossing! The restaurant was a little hard to find, as Google Maps put us across the street from where the actual restaurant was located. The restaurant inside is clean and the service was very friendly. We ordered shrimp enchiladas and enchiladas with eggs (under breakfast plates). Both came with 3 enchiladas, Mexican rice, refried beans, salsa and sour cream. The food took a more than average amount of time to come out, but that makes me think it was cooked to order! The food itself was excellent: bursting with flavor, pretty spicy but savory and bright. It's a hidden gem in Douglas!

This is a DUMP. We come in as a large party and had reservations, it's 95 here we walk in and the temperature inside feels like 90. Several people ask the MANAGER o please turn the AC up just until we all leave (40 of us. ) He lies and says it's at 74 I walk I over and the AC is set and locked to 81. He has another overhead AC he doesn't even have it on so we asked him to turn it on he got extremely RUDE because we asked to be comfortable while we ate. He then said take your FUNERAL PARTY ELSEWHERE. He came over to the table and complained that we asked him to turn the AC on and yelled at us at the table the he reached into his pocket and turned the ac up to. 78. We will never come back to this filthy place with its filthy restrooms and the horrible attitude of the owner or manager and the servers. Good bye am also calling the health department for them having cheese out on the counter for over an hour. This is OUR OPINION of this place and it deserves less than one star. Get a cleaning staff especially for your restrooms this is our OPINION OF THIS PLACE YOU'VE BEEN WARNED SO ITS UP TO YOU AMBIANCE- Loud SERVICE- horrible FOOD- terrible. Our OPINIONS ‼ SHARE YOUR AIR CONDITIONING WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS OR YOU WILL LOSE THEM. ‼

The location and decor is on point, also clean dining area. I was told that this place has delicious food so we had to try. We ordered 3 burritos and cocido de res (beef stew). We waited 30 minutes for our food. I was just dumbfounded of how long it took since it was a simple order. The asada burrito was just ok, chicken burrito was really dry, and the beef stew was again just ok. No smile or welcome from the staff, it was "what do you want and here it is" kinda experience. However, I would try this place again. I'm a pro small business supporter, but I don't sugar coat my reviews.

Tasty, affordable with lots of choices. I had the breakfast burrito (create your own version). and a chili verde taco. Both were outstanding.

Border Taco has a nice spacious dining area with Mexican Decour. The servers are all very nice and accommodating. The portion sizes are good especially for the price! They have everything from caldo de queso to pancakes, chimichangas, enchiladas, Mexican shrimp cocktail, salads..... This is a great place to go if you have a large party - the menu is pretty extensive!

We almost didn't try this place because of the mediocre reviews. But then some of our Mexican friends gave us a list of places to try this side of the border in Douglas, and Border Taco was one. We've tried almost everything they recommended, and Border Taco has been the clear winner for us so far.How they stand out - real guacamole, and they provide lots of veggies with your tacos.I can't stand fake guacamole and that has made me loathe a few taco places I've tried. But that's for other reviews! Border Taco has real guacamole, and I hope they never change that. When you order tacos from them, they come with lots of cilantro, lots of cabbage, pico de gallo, extra hot salsa, and limes. If the order is "to go" those come in separate containers to you can load your tacos as much as you like. Love that! Maybe some people like the taco joints that serve just meat in a tortilla, but I like more food in my taco.Border Taco in Douglas is most comparable to 143 Street Tacos in Sierra Vista, or off the 10, Taco Mirasol in Deming. I'd also give those 5 stars for their tacos and veggie selections. Overall, Taco Mirasol is our favorite for having the most authentic Mexican flavors, but all are great and I frequent these whenever in the area.

Good menudo & excellent shrimp dishes. My favorite is the bacon wrapped shrimp. The shrimp are big & plump and tasty. Be prepared to wait on your food though. It always seems to come out slow... but it's worth it if you're not in a hurry.
