I had a great experience bouldering with Blue Lizard Climbing and Yoga in Hueco Tanks. They provided guiding services for my partner, two friends, and me (4 people total). Our guide Steve support us with hauling pads and setting up below climbs. He shared beta (only when we wanted it and without spraying), taught us about the historic significance of the park, and helped us respect the land's integrity while we were climbing together. Steve has a positive spirit and love for climbing that made the experience extra special. I recommend Blue Lizard Climbing & Yoga to anyone who wants to boulder at Hueco Tanks.

Excellent guide and tour! Steve really took the time to get to know our climbing experience and abilities to provide a very individualized tour for our entire group. After inquiring about our favorite climbing styles he not only took us to perfect, classic problems but even came up with a list of recommendations for us for the rest of our time (self-guided) in North Mountain. He was extremely attentive and respectful of the park, very knowledgeable abut the area, its history, and culture, and was just a fun/cool guy to spend the day with. Beyond that, his pad placement was impeccable and every problem we tried felt very well protected despite what would otherwise be sketchy landing areas. His ability to fluidly shift between spotting and taking pictures and pointing out beta was pretty remarkable. He is willing to share microbeta or keep it to himself depending on what your group wants, but he helped half of us break into a new v-grade on our tour (a v5 and a v7)! Lastly, the pictures he took and shared turned out pretty phenomenal. Definitely plan to hang out with him again on our next trip!

I cannot stress enough how top notch Blue Lizzard Climbing and Yoga is! Myself and three friends went out bouldering with Stephen in Heuco tanks. I have worked previously for guide companies, so I say this with a certain level of authority. Stephen was knowledgeable, professional, personable and an over all incredible guide. He went far above and beyond what I would a have expected of a single guide. I fully expected to more or less just be paying for access to the park and maybe someone to show us where certain problems were. Not only did they manage all permit issues, but Stephen joined in humping pads, knew not only where the climbs were but also about the geology and history of the park, knew where the cave art was, was knowledgeable about beta when we got stuck, led in managing pads to ensure safety, and on top of that he took pictures and was a fun guy to spend a day with. Superb service! I'll be looking them up again next time I'm around.

What a great experience! We have been to Hueco a handful of times and have been on guided tours each time, this was the best guide we have ever had out here in Hueco! We had Steve as our guide and he reached out to us when we booked our private tour to get a feel for what we wanted and had plenty of suggestions for us too! Steve took us to East mountain and East Spur over the weekend and he was awesome! He knew the areas and climbs very well and had plenty of beta to share. I gave vague descriptions of climbs I had been on before and he knew exactly what I was talking about. Steve even had a video of every climb we hopped on, in case we wanted to see video of someone climbing it. Steve helped us move all of our pads and bags around whenever he could, arranged all of the pads in the best/safest way for each climb, and took tons of super awesome photos of us and emailed them all to us. Steve was very professional, yet still extremely friendly and fun. He even brought some homemade sending cookies for us! The price for a private tour was very reasonable, especially for all that you get - extra pads, professional photos, and a great guide with tons of knowledge! We absolutely loved our experience with Blue Lizard and will book our next tour with Steve when we come back to Hueco!

We could not have asked for a better guide of Hueco Tanks than Steve. He was knowledgeable, professional, fun (and patient!). Steve came recommended by our Airbnb host, who lives in the area.He exceeded all of our expectations. He came prepared with suggestions on what we should do but was also open to any of our requests. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area--seemingly knowing the name of almost every route in the park and able to provide beta based on how he'd done it himself or seen it done--and generous with his time. As an added bonus, he took photos of us climbing with his professional camera and shared them with us shortly after the trip. We would recommend him for climbers (or general adventurers!) of all ages and skill levels. Our only regret is not getting to try one of his wife's yoga classes!

We hired Steve for a private bouldering tour at the end of March. Even before arriving at Hueco Tanks, Steve was prompt and helpful before the tour was even booked, often replying to email communications within the a few hours. The day of the tour went the same - Steve was very prepared and got us into the park without a hitch ( even accommodating our unplanned bathroom breaks). Touring the park, Steve was very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna, giving us insights we might otherwise have missed. He is extremely passionate about the preservation of the park and retaining access to the climbing areas, and helps you do to the same. While climbing, Steve makes sure everyone is safe, and was often doing the large majority of pad placement and guided us to spot correctly and safely. He also takes awesome pictures throughout. Lastly, Steve was a cool guy to spend the day with - we all had a good time bantering and chatting while resting. We were all very appreciate to have Steve as our guide, and look forward to coming back to Hueco soon. I would recommend him as a guide to everyone.
