I have been to Tick at least 5 times. She is great and takes her time. I had a portrait of my mother done by her and it looks like the professional photo it came from. Perfect job. She closed up both of me sleeves with her imagination. Mentally in need for another tattoo after around 40-50 I already have. Not all done by Tick, but quite a few of them. See you soon. Not sure if you remember me, but I wanted Snow Whie and the 7 Dwarfs. Trying to figure a good place for you to put them on me.

The best shop in Las Cruces! Tick and Sonny can handle any tattoo big or small! Tick did my sleeve 10 years ago, it's still looks awesome! The prices are good, and the quality/experience getting tattooed is excellent!! Go see them for your next tattoo, they are the professionals you are looking for!

This is my go-to tattoo shop in Las Cruces. I've had four tats done here so far. The environment is friendly, with none of that cooler-than-you stuff that you see in other shops.I have gone to see Sonny for all of my tattoo work, and have zero complaints. He is a true artist, and the process has always been very collaborative. I suggest an idea, and he goes to draw, coming back to me with his own spin on the subject matter. He's always open to my input on art and on color.I highly recommend Black Rat and Sonny.

So deciding that I was in need of a tattoo, I yelped tattoo shops in San Jose and came across Humble Beginnings with it's consistently positive 4+ star reviews. Being the slacker/procrastinator that I am I split from work on a Friday afternoon to swing by and check this place out praying I'd be able to get an appointment for that same weekend. All their regular artists were booked for months however as it happened, Tick the traveling tattoo artist (from Black Rat Tattoo) was in town and I was able to get a time for that Sunday. I gave her some ideas of what I was looking at and she took that and ran with it coming up with a nice twist on what I was looking for. Session was great, Tick had a good pace, very mellow, didn't feel as though she was rushing and of course the most important my tattoo came out great and I'm loving it and getting all kinds of kudos on how good it looks. Guess the only reason I would have to give this place 4 stars in lieu of 5 is that I can't really rate the shop as I got it done at a shop in San Jose, but from the pics on their site the place looks to have been done up real nicely. Anyhow, I would definitely recommend Tick and the work she does.

Tick does the best tattoo work I have ever seen. Perfect shading. Perfect colors. Her artwork is absolutely amazing - your tattoos will look like you had them done by someone who charges at least 5x as much. That said, she is very professional and down to earth and she keeps her work space sanitary. I've had 2 tattoos done by her and they both turned out amazing. I'll be going back for another as soon as I can afford it. her work is so good, I don't want to look back and wish I could find an artist as good as she is.

I got my very first tattoo from this shop. I had heard very positive feedback from this shop, Tick imp-articular and was excited to go in to set up an appt. I went in and they told me that she was booked in advance two to three months and was going out of town afterwards. so, wanting my tattoo i looked at the other artists' work. An artist named James told me he could start my tattoo the following day with a 40 dollar deposit. I told him what I wanted to incorporate and he said he would have the sketch ready. When I went in for my appt. the sketch was not ready. He took time out of the appt. to sketch it up. When I told him again what I wanted he contradicted what I said and told me certain things would look better a different way. considering hes been tattooing longer than my knowledge i though his changes would be good. I was wrong I am not happy with them. There are aspects of my tattoo that I do love but others I wish i never got. He would take frequent cigarette breaks and still charged me for the full time. I had to come back for a second appt because he couldn't finish the tattoo in the time we had set up due to the frequent breaks. when I went back and finished the tattoo I looked at it in the mirror and realize HE FORGOT A PART OF THE TATTOO!!!! when I told him he said he could fix it. it was supposed to be music notes on a staff bar, what i got was dinky little 6 and 9 pieces or crap. no staff bar and looks horrible. (fixing to cover up with a different artist) The charge was $100 per hour. due to him taking so many breaks I was charged $550 for a medium sized tattoo. ( too much in my perspective. all in all the tattoo is clean and the color has held well but not what i wanted and forgetting part of the tattoo is a big NO-NO. pricing for this area is normal but with the artist breaking on your time I should not have to pay for that. I have gotten other tattoos at other shops and have had better quality, quantity, customer service and pricing. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS SHOP AGAIN.

Love blackrat! Ive seem some fantastic pieces come out of there. Very professional staff, willing to work with your design ideas. I went in for a leg piece last summer and love it!! Thanks evan! I think i will call Tick today and schedule that cover up i've been bugging her about ;)

I came to visit from California and wanted a tattoo to commemorate my great grandmothers 90th birthday. I contacted Tick because she came highly recommended by a reputable artist in my hometown. Tick was going to be out of town for a tattoo convention but she remained in contact with me to design my piece while she was away. VERY professional. Ended up her flight was delayed coming home so my appointment time had to be pushed back. Tick proceeded to cancel her appointments for the rest of the day because she knew how important it was to me that I got the tattoo before I left town. Tick did the most absolutely amazing work I have ever seen. I have quite a few tattoos from various places and this was by far one of the best experiences I have ever had. I LOVE my tattoo and I would recommend anyone make an appointment to see her. She is so very friendly and easy to talk to. I will certainly be visiting Tick any chance I get.
