I wanted to get some meat à la cart to go, specifically spare ribs. The kind waitress said "we've been slammed today but I'll see what they can do."She ran back out and said we're working on it! 10 minutes later she met me at the counter, and said "$16.00 please."For which I received six huge ribs plus the tail piece. They were delicious, and more than I could eat. Their house sauce is fantastic as well. I will definitely be back.

It's got a surprisingly nice atmosphere for being in a pass thru desert town. Service was friendly if a little inattentive. The beef ribs, sauce, and the fries were great, the salad bar was limited but did the job. The beans were well flavored but a few were pretty tough. I would have given it 5 stars, but the chicken was a serious disappointment. Very dry and the smallest breast I think I've ever seen, smaller than any thigh I'd ever seen. It's worth a shot, but avoid the chicken.

When I go to a BBQ place I usually order brisket so Ive had my fair share of brisket in AZ, GA, FL and of course TX.I have to say their brisket was okay. Definitely not bad but not the best either . This place smelled so good from outside so I had high expectation. This place is ideal for a big party, family etc... They have a salad bar, which is a nice touch. And of course, the exterior of the restaurant is super cool and will definitely draw your attention! For a busy restaurant, the service was good and fast.

Want to eat the best Texas-style BBQ you've ever had? Better than the famous joints in Texas? Come here. Eat enormous portions of perfectly smoked meat. Eat scrumptious beer battered fries and the best cole slaw I've ever put in my face. Service was friendly and quick. Not a single bite was disappointing. The converted train car was an unusual and lovely setting. I don't come through this part of the country often, but we'll be back. We'll plan trips to get to town when we're hungry, too!

First of all, we loved the look of this place and creative decor. Waitresses could've been more welcoming and attentive. We had to interrupt their conversations a couple time to get refills and additional items. We ordered two plates of "The Texan" that were said to have 2.5lbs of meat. We ordered premium sides for additional cost which included mashed potatoes, onion rings and Mac n cheese. If I'm completely honest, the Mac tasted like KFCs and mashed potatoes like instant. The onion rings were very good and possibly made fresh. The brisket had no smoke ring and appeared to have been possibly reheated and the pulled pork was flavorless (not smoked). Their BBQ sauce was okay and only had 1 type which bothered me for a BBQ place. Overall okay and cheap for a small town, but will not be returning.

Big Tex must be from New Jersey. My wife and I agreed that the brisket was inedible and the Eckrich sausage was straight from Safeway. The brisket must have been cooked in an oven as there was no smoke ring nor smoke taste. Even Okies would have at least used liquid smoke. The brisket was so dry, tasteless, and tough that even the bbq sauce couldn't help it. We both decided not to waste the calories on the meats and just covered the plates with the napkins It is sad commentary that the best part of meal was the beans.Native Texan

The food was just amazing. We ordered the five meat platter with three sides was for two adults and two kids. We had massive amounts of food. Plenty to come home for the next day and the taste of the food was just fabulous. The the waitress was very attentive.

We stopped by for lunch after visiting Chiricahua National Monument. Fast, friendly service, excellent salad bar and good food. We had the brisket platter and brisket sandwich. Both were excellent! We got some cookies at checkout for the road, and they were very good.

I'm from Texas. I've eaten a lot of barbecue. This was the worst brisket I've ever had. Fatty and tough.

If you like flavourless barbecue and the taste of disappointment, this is the place to go! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, and my sister ordered the BBQ beef sandwich. The sauce was thin and watery and lacked any flavour component. It needed vinegar and or mustard to add some tang and flavour to the sauce. The meat in both sandwiches were completely devoid of taste. A bit dry and very disappointing despite paying over $15 each. The salad bar for an additional $2 was just OK. Nothing great or outstanding. The server was kind and polite, but the service was lacking. We had to track someone down to get extra napkins. In the end we packaged up the sandwiches and took them home. Added some Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce so they wouldn't be so challenging to eat and add some missing taste. They also charged us $1.53 to use a credit card. Nope. Never going back to this disaster again. Wayno
