First time. They replaced my starter and were both accommodating and genuinely sincere. I had a positive experience and felt that Cliff (manager) treated me fairly and respectfully. They always have customers; a good sign that they do a good job. I will use them again!

Best automotive center anywhere, ever! We're a military family, we've lived all over the country and world. Bernard's is the best we've ever found! We're so lucky they're only one mile from our house. We feel like we hit the jackpot. This is a small, unassuming, local business, but as soon as you start asking Las Crucens where to get automotive work done, the overwhelming majority will recommend Bernard's. Everyone here is knowledgeable, skilled, and personable. They get to know their customers (they remembered us after not going there for over a year) and they're always professional. They have saved us from being without a vehicle many times. And they're fair. They don't make up stuff and they don't try to upsell you. They tell you what is actually wrong with your vehicle and they fix it for a fair price. On this particular visit, we thought we were having a transmission leak and another place had told us that was the case and it could mean thousands in repairs. Bernard's did a thorough inspection and diagnosis and told us it was a radiator cap, that was it. We appreciate their honesty and reliability. Don't hesitate to get work done here, Bernard's is the BEST!

Went in with headlights not working and they replaced the alternator and told me the headlights was just a relay issue that was now resolved. Later that week, I had company in town and while they were using my car, lo and behold the headlights go out while they're trying to drive in an unfamiliar area at night. Yikes. Take the car back. They then tell me (with no apologies regarding the initial mistake) that the problem was the blinker switch in the steering column. Fine, understood. But they also charged an extra $110 for 'shop labor - front headlights' - which I imagine was the diagnostic work? Because it was a separate charge from both the part and the replacement labor. But...why charge for a full hour for diagnosis when, A. They had looked at the car before specifically for this issue, and B. The fix implemented is literally the top answer on google when you search "Car make/model headlights not working'. All in all I paid over $1000 on a car barely worth that. I genuinely would have appreciated a better explanation of the work to be done before they did it, or at least an explanation of why all the extra time was needed to diagnose.
