Yesterday's El Paso Citizen Police Academy had CAP and a Texas Ranger speak to us about crime scene investigations. On my watch list now is Lonesome Dove and on my read list is Empire of the Summer Moon.To be honest with you, since the training is at Safety Town at Bassett around dinner time, I've been disinclined to eat there since the food court has really terrible Asian food, they just give you a lot to make up for it. BUT yesterday I found a hidden gem, literally it's in the far right corner of the food court. I think it's called Mr. C - Snack Shop which is really odd because it has everything from burgers to tortas, to loaded fries. They also have all the agua frescas, and fresh fruits alongside the snacks like elotes and chilindras. This carne asada torta was the bomb. So much flavor, they weren't stingy with the meat and I only got one gristly piece of meat. It's filled with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and avocado salsa. It comes with hand made fries which I normally don't like since they're limp and have skin attached, BUT these fries were covered with cheese sauce! Omg that just brought it to the next level... Best of all, it was around $10 which is a deal for the food court and in these inflationary times. Oh and all the movies at the mall on Tuesday are $5.75 all day! You want a safe place to play for your kiddos that they can climb? There's a kiddie area in the food court and I saw them sanitizing it pretty regularly, alongside the Easter Bunny pics. I admit I never really go to Bassett mall unless there's a big event, like this weekend's Kids Fair, or shop at Costco, but there are still local stores doing their best to survive and we can go and #supportlocal

Since the first time I ever venture to this mall they have done some renovations. They have worked on a new food court, which is decent. Other than that it's not much going on here. They have a Dave and busters, express, target, few other stores and even a movie theater. The movie theater is the reason I normally come back. Since it's one of the smaller ones I have noticed it's never packed which is really nice! So shopping doesn't get as crazy as it would at the other malls. There are several people mainly seniors that are walking together as a exercising routine. One thing I would caution anyone is that Costco is right close by and their gas station is over by Dave and busters entrance, with that being said be carefully when going in and coming out because the gas station is always packed with cars in line.

Made a trip down to Bassett today to visit their target! The mall as a whole was crowded today but I am glad to see them enforcing the mask mandate! I also saw many areas for hand sanitizer which is a plus! Always a great trip to Bassett!

This mall a little run down. We walked to it so it was a convenient location near our hotel. I loved that it had a Target, Kohls, and FYE. However, I was very disappointed to find that none of the food establishments could accommodate my daughter's allergy. She cannot have dairy and no one seemed to have a dairy free option. There was also too many pay to ride machines. My littlest 2 kids really enjoyed the play area. It was a neat little area that is a rarity in most malls nowadays.

Overall, not a bad place. They've done renovations over the years and have added a few venues, like Dave and Buster's and stores like Kohl's. It is a very small place, but very convenient for people who work/live around the area. There's a Target in there! They used to have a larger dining area in their food court. Which was very nice, space wise. Now they upgraded to this box like space with less seating space. I can't imagine how it gets during weekly lunch hours. They also have a movie theater, which less gets crowded than the other ones around the area. Good spot to stop for a movie, a quick meal, and some shopping.

Its full of flies and its burning hot im sweating waiting for a burger. If you like hot suffocating foodcourts with flies all over the place this is it. For the love of god it's 106*F degrees outside. I came here to get away from this burning hot weather. Guess back home it is.

This would probably be the smallest mall in El Paso. Although it's small, there's still some pretty good options. The stores I've shopped at most are: Target, Victoria's Secret and New York and Company. I'm a sucker for Victoria's Secret lotion and body mists, especially when they go on sale for $2.99. They make good Christmas gifts. NY and Company always has good sales on women's apparel. I love blouses, jeans and purses from here. There's also a Kohls I've been to a few times. A good thing about Bassett Place is that they offer a lot of kids and family events. This means free snacks and goodies for the kiddos! Awesome! We also like coming because of the IMAX theater. I think the theater needs some remodeling but it's the only one we have in El Paso at this time. We've also been to Dave and Busters a few times. If you're looking for more store options, I'd go to a bigger mall in town. Bassett is alright if you only need a couple of items and/or a bite to eat. Besides Sunland Park Mall, it doesn't get as crowded as the others. I forgot to add...they also have a food court and are near a Costco.

Bassett Place is a smaller mall that is next to Hwy 10 and Costco. A few name brand stores with a couple of eateries in the food court. Great place for preschoolers to have fun on mini toy vehicles.

Bassett is the most modest of the malls in EP. It doesn't have as many different stores as Sunland Park or Cielo Vista, but Bassett Place's charm is definitely in its simplicity.Sure there's Victoria Secret and Express, but it's power stores are Khols and Target. Strangely enough the food court is larger and more diverse than any of the other malls. There's you typical food chains like Subway and Wendy's (I think I'm remembering that right) and then there's places with sushi, Mexican food, German food, pizza, ice cream...the list goes on. The Ramirez Pecan Farm is probably my favorite. It's not exactly where you would go for lunch or dinner, but they have tons of treats, pies and breads. And they're all very delicious. I always forget to ask them if one can go to the actual pecan farm. The movie theater here is comparable to the Cielo Vista theater, although this one is smaller. They don't tend to have movies on opening night (so no dressing up for the midnight premiers) to avoid over crowding since they are inside the mall. They recently started serving beer too so I think that will keep them relevant when these newer theaters open. This theater is a little more aged than the others, but its still in good condition and they're the only theater with Dbox seats (the seat moves with the movie, so if the scene is on a ship your seat sways side to side). Tickets for Dbox are about double the price of a regular ticket, but once in a while it's fun to do. From the outside it does seem like they're in the process of adding on to this theater, but I could be wrong.BP is kinda low key and doesn't have all the hustle and bustle the other malls do so it's ideal if you want to casually stroll from store to store.
