Barrazas Transmissions

I took my Corvette to Barraza's after taking it to another mechanic, who was supposed to be an "expert" on Corvette transmissions, but screwed it up royally. Isaac Barraza, not only quoted me a much better price, he installed heavier duty parts and the car feels like brand new again. Isaac and his Dad know their stuff and I would recommend them to anyone. These folks are "old school" and keep their word when they tell you something. When Isaac was test driving the car, a rock hit the front bumper and damaged the paint. When I arrived to pick the car up, Isaac took me right to the car and showed me the damage and made arrangements to have the bumper repaired at his cost. Like I said, these folks have integrity. So... if you want quality work at a fair price, these are the guys to go to.

Stole a transmission from me. Brought my truck here for a simple transmission swap (I supplied the new transmission) & lo and behold they "lost" my original transmission. My first mistake was when I came to pickup the truck he waited until I already paid to tell me I would have to come back the next day for the transmission since he was still "draining the fluid". I gave him the benefit of the doubt but the next day he then claimed he didn't know where it was at that moment and asked if I could come back the next day. After that day he quit returning any of my calls. The company that sold me the new transmission required me to send in my old one (for a core charge, a common practice) and since I couldn't they charged me an additional $300 and voided the 30k warranty I purchased. They didn't adjust the shift cable properly on install and it ended up breaking the plastic assembly on my shift cable a week later while I was at work. These guys got lucky I was in the middle of moving out of state when this happened or I would have had the time to stand outside their shop making sure every customer saw the absolute headache they were causing me. If you are the owner of this shop and want me to remove this then "find" my phone number and see if you happen to stumble upon my transmission for me to pick up.

Broke down off-roading out in Las Cruces NM, the transmission just gave out a bit far from home and I had to trust Barrazas Transmissions to help meget it back to El Paso in one piece. They did an awesome job, especially finding some parts not to commonly found for my old Jeep. Some stationary parts not commonly replaced when rebuilding had broken. Isaac was very professional and did a great job re-building my transmission, he even drove down to El Paso for some hard to find parts to re-build my transmission. The shifting of gears on my transmission is smoother than ever and it's running awesome out in the desert as well.

This isnt your run of a mill review ~ this is honest and to the point of what a customer from "out of town" can expect from Barazzas transmission. I own a RV rental Agency in Arizona - Unfortunately the transmission failed while on rental, I googled Transmission shops in Las Cruces NM near White Sands Missle range ~ found several on Google and Yelp . Read the reviews, and contacted Issac at Barazzas because his reviews were good. It was a friday afternnon and after I explained the issue and the need for urgency since the renters were on Vacation, Issac said he would stop what he was doing and take a look at it right away. I called my renter and dircted him to take it into Barazzas which they did. Unfortunately the front seal at the Torque converter had blown and was leaking bad. Alot of fluid had been lost and Issac informed me that it wasnt going to be an easy fix. He went out of his way to diagnose the issue and also to assist my renter in finding alternative transportation. Sometimes things dont aleays cooperate and go as planned ~ such was the issue with this transmission! After replacing the seal and testing, it went to leaking again. Issac kept me informed through the process via texts. The Torque converter was rebuilt by a place in El Paso, an new pump and seals wer installed, it was road tested - NO LEAKS, but was throwing some TCC codes. Appreared to be functioning OK until put under heavy load and high RPM on a steep uphill. Issac did some research and found that my particular Motorhome Transmission (FORD 5R110W) was known for doing this and what was needed was a TRANS GO Shift Kit which includes a stainless steel hardened pressure regulator valve. It was about then that "the bastard Murphy" raised his head and the entire Barazzas trnsmission shop staff caught Covid...But as soon as Quarintine was over Issac had my rig fixed with a Rebuilt upgraded Torque Converter, Rebuilt and upgraded my pump assembly , replaced the seals and installed the shift kit. I picked the RV up - purposely drove it hard on long steep grades at 75 mph and at 80 on the open road and it performed superbly some 250 + miles without a glitch. It shifts great (much more positively). Because it had taken a bit longer than expected (what with having the torque converter rebuilt and Covid affecting the shop) , Issac stepped up ~ ate the additional costs to repair the transmission installing the upgraded pressure regulator valve and filled the RV with fuel! After speaking with my Transmission repair guy in Arizonna it became very apparent to me that the repairs were more expensive than I was charged for and that Barazzas stands behind thier word to make it right. So in closing if you need your transmission serviced or repaired just know this Issac is a man of his word and he will do you right! Paul @ Southeast Arizona RV Rentals & Storage

After the transmission on my 2003 S-10 went out, I called the usual places around town. The prices quoted were almost more than my truck was worth. A friend recommended Barrazas so I called Isaac. He got me in immediately and quoted a price that was a quarter of any other shop. He got the job done when he said he would, and his father did the test drive out to White Sands Missile Range and back. Truck runs great. I now recommend Barrazas to all my friends!

this place will scam u stay away took in truck an they took out good parts replaced with bad . took it too original mechanic confirmed it with part numbers looking to sue

I had a rear seal engine leak and these folks not only repaired my vehicle but had the best cost but an awesome guarantee . They are my transmission peeps for life!!!!!
