The presentation of the cake

I ordered a cake for my birthday and was told it would be great and that they could meet my expectations in what I wanted that it would look beautiful. First, they didn't wrap the cake when we went to pick it up. It was just handed too us. Secondly when I saw it they basically had the 2d print of the pictures I requested pasted too the cake it was very basic for $190! I was hoping for something more attractive to present. Furthermore when it came to cutting the cake there was so much cardboard and sticks holding it up that it was difficult to even cut. Unfortunately for the taste and presentation of this cake it was not worth almost$200!! I would have paid the most possibly$100 that's me being generous. It lacked creativity considering that I even showed examples of other cakes to give them an idea. We had a secondary cake and that cake was completely gone in seconds no one was interested in eating this$190 cake. Sadly now we're stuck with an expensive two tier cake that needs to be eaten.

The customer service is horrible. I ordered a cake for my son's birthday in April 2024, about a month and a half before my son's birthday party. I choose this shop since it's closer than another cake shop I use to go to on Mesa St. When I went to pick it up they only gave it to me as is, no box to carry it in. I paid $124.80 with transaction fee for a cake. I would have at least expected to receive a box to carry it in. Aside from that, the biggest let down was that when we cut open the cake at the party, it was the wrong flavor! It didn't even remotely resemble tres leches it was super dry! I contacted the shop owner right after cutting the cake and she only offered her apologies when I asked for at least half of my payment refunded. She claimed they erase the text messages and that she has no proof of me specifically asking for "chocolate tres leches". Now I do have the messages, so I screen shot it and sent it over to her as proof, and again she only gave me "mil disculpas". Ridiculous. I did not pay $124.80 a month and a half in advance for a mishap like this to happen. She never contacted me again after telling me she would look into it. Don't waste your money or time with this shop. We threw out the cake after serving it because no one was eating it. I'd suggest going to cupcakeolgy on the West side, they're worth the drive. Something like this would never happen with the owner of Cupcakeolgy. I'd rather drive the 30 minutes out to the west side for quality customer care than the the 10 minute drive to this shop.
