A mama kitty abandoned her litter on the West Mesa...it's getting hot and we wanted to take a couple of them home...but we are nervous because of our other two kitties possibly catching a bug. I was desperate to take them to a vet to get a couple initial vaccines (and a look over) but every local clinic I called had at least a three week waiting list. So I stopped by, pretty frantic, to see if the shelter could recommend what to do. Turns out that not only did Alaska put my mind at ease- she gave me a flyer for their drive through vaccination event being held tomorrow! She even looked at a video of the babies wrestling and gave me the thumbs up. I appreciate this so much because I just couldn't leave them out in the heat. Thanks again and we will always recommend this shelter in the future....because of the help, advice and encouragement- these five babies are going to their forever homes tonight...and we will all be there for the vaccines and chips tomorrow!

Few days ago, I adopt a German shepherd who was previously owned by a patient of mines at the hospital. She got really sick and she couldn't take care of her anymore and was forced to surrender her at the shelter. This place gave her a time frame to where she was able to pick up the dog with a discounted price, still stuck at the hospital she vented to me about her dog and needed a home for her. She cried and was so worried about her. I asked how old and what kind of dog. Told me she was a 7 year old German shepherd female. I immediately told her I would take her. She was relieved . Next day, here I am with this beautiful dog. I did think Long and hard if this was going to be a mistake. If she was trained and if she would get along with my Doberman Pinscher male. Surely they do. First day, she seemed a bit confused and most likely had anxiety. She was crying her eyes out. I bonded with her finally she got comfortable. Had a bath, played and ate. We connected and she's in our home comfortable as ever like she belongs here. We are 2 peas in a pod.

Somehow Sydney lost her Las Cruces City License. When I realized it I called and talked to the lady that answered the phone and expanded the problem. Maybe I'm just a stickler for being compliant. Or maybe I just don't want to get caught and have to pay some ridiculous fine. Since I can't remember names I will have to just to refer to her as 'the lady'. They aren't letting to many people come by because of COVID-19 so without any hesitation she took my name and sent a replacement that I received today. Johnny on the Spot since I called Saturday 11/28/2020 and received today 12/01/2020. Thanks I really appreciate it.

I'm glad I got Lazer , he's still very good....he's been pretty alerted haha, but he's chill. Plus had to get rid of my kitten sadly. But luckily I took care of her and she's way bigger than her brother and twin sister. Also;; very smart and I sometimes can see her walk in the morning ....depending.

I called Animal Services Center of the Mesilla Valley and had the pleasure of speaking with Charlie. I asked him for information regarding transportation for a cat that has been coming to my back patio. I explained that I am no longer driving, and I had posted on Ring pictures of this kitty to see if anyone is missing him with no one responding. Charlie was so nice and helpful, although they do not transport animals, he gave me his manager, Mayura's phone number, and suggested that I text her. As soon as I texted Mayura, she called me and told me that I needed to see if the cat was chipped. She provided me the phone number of Animal Control. Mayura also provided me the number of SNAP just in case the cat is not chipped. She mentioned that SNAP can help with the cost of having the cat neutered and vaccinated. I did call Animal Control and as soon as I am able to get this cat in a kennel. I will call Animal Control to see if he is chipped. I do believe this cat belongs to someone, because he is so well behaved. Charlie and Mayura are truly kind and love animals. I'm sure the entire staff is just as caring. Thank you for all you do for the animals. I will go to your website to donate to your amazing cause.

Sadly, we had a bad experience here today and it was our first time visiting. My wife and I went in about 10 mins before 5 to see some kittens for adoption, and as soon as we went in they put "CLOSED" on the doors of both the cats and dogs. Everywhere says that they are open until 6, so I was confused on why they were open before my wife and I went in, then suddenly "closed" when we went in. They said that "Adoption actually stops at 5:00. Sorry", but it's not mentioned anywhere. What happens in that last hour that people can come in? It just didn't feel right and it really saddened me. We would have left work even earlier if it did....we both work till 5. We were excited to finally go in here and I've been wanting a cat from here since they opened.
