Althouse Restore

When my water heater started flooding my partially finished basement, I called Althouse. Even though we shut off the water fairly quickly, There was an inch or more on the floor. My biggest concern was that the moisture would damage the sheet rock and cause mold int the clothing and files we had down there.They sent a certified water damage specialist who sucked up a lot of water and set up machines to thoroughly dry the area.We had used Althouse several times before for carpet and upholstery cleaning. We always liked their expertise and courtesy, so we called them for the flood. We are so glad we did!Richard in Manhatten Heights

Safeco insurance recommended this company as one that they work with, so I called them for an estimate on some water damage. Todd came out to look at the damage for an estimate, but then never got back to either me or the insurance adjuster, despite multiple calls over the course of about three weeks. Don't waste your time with this company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! We had a fire approximately a year ago. We thought they were a preferred vendor for mitigation but were actually only a preferred vendor for tarping initially. It took them FOREVER to finally start working on our home and when they did, some of our patio furniture went missing and the roofers actually admitted to the foreman that they stole it. I called the owner Greg Althouse and he asked me to "call the cops if I thought they stole something." He was completely rude and condescending. Our foreman ended up getting fired before our home was complete. The new foreman Jose Romero was even worse. Jose yelled and cussed at myself and my husband on several occasions when we questioned their work. 1) They left our backyard a disaster after the repair. 2) They never thoroughly cleaned our home following the fire, I even showed them everything was in the drawers and cabinets and didn't wipe the walls as they were supposed to before painting but they charged us for it and called me a liar. 3) several boxes (new items and collections valued at $800) and items were missing and the mitigation supervisor admitted they were missing and even told me the owner refused to replace them. 4) they attempted to charge us for things they never did (fraudulently) 5) they refused to paint the flashing on our roof even though we showed them it was previously painted and every other home on our block has it painted.... not even a year later and our ceiling is cracking and the lights are flickering and the front step tile is broken. They are a horrible company every one except for one employee was extremely rude. My insurance company had to get involved to settle things. Please do not use this company. Greg Althouse and his staff are very unprofessional.

This company is the worst! They sent a guy named Roberto who was rude, arrogant, & unprofessional with no manners whatsoever! He questioned our needs & what we wanted! He did not meet standards on being able to deal with customers, much less understand his job! Worst person to deal with in getting what you want! At the end, he stated he didn't want to deal with customers or even bother being there!! Would not recommend this company or its employees! This company is super unprofessional. I called because I got a letter in the mail stating I was going to have a lien put on my home for non payment for something the insurance sent them out for but yet they claim they bill insurance directly. Worse thing is when I called to tell them that insurance should have been taking care of this the lady over the phone started releasing information to me without even confirming who I was, I asked her how she know it was me if I never even gave her an address or a name and she said your name came up on my caller ID. I've been a victim to fraud and one thing I've learned is caller ID is NOT a form of verification. Overall the experience with this company is horrible. Do not use them.

I highly recommend you STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Not only did they take items from my house that I told them not to, they threatened me with collections, attorneys fees, etc for a bill I had not been paid for by the insurance company. I explained to the company that I was awaiting payment so I could in turn pay them however they became very aggressive threatening legal action. They also did a terrible job on the repairs.

Can't go wrong with this company! I won't be going to anyone else for water mitigation and fire restoration needs.

I have a property in New Mexico which had a pretty bad roof leak. To be on the safe side I obtained two repair estimates, one from a local contractor and one from a company recommended by my insurance company, that being Althouse Restore. The local company provided me with a very thorough and in depth description of the damage and corrective measures to be taken. I opted to use Althouse Restore, however, since they were recommended by my insurance company. In addition, forwarded the local companies report to Althouse Restore. Althouse Restore in turn sent me a listing of the work they would be doing, which looked equally impressive. As a layman, I assumed the Althouse Repair listing was a re-write of the local contractor's report. It was not long after Althouse Restore completed their work that I received a report that the roof was still leaking. Althouse Restore reinspected their work and advised me that the specific area of roof that was leaking was not repaired ???????? When I told them to repair what should have been done originally, they said :it was not their responsibility." I do not understand how a roofing company, who is supposed to be the expert in roofing repairs, and, was provided with an in depth report from a highly rated (A+ Better Business Bureau) company, would not repair the major problem area of my roof. And then to say "it was not their responsibility!!!!!" If one hires a roofer to fix a leak in a roof, whose responsibility is it to get the job done? It has subsequently cost me an additional $2300 to have the roof fixed properly, by the highly rated A+ Better Business Company. If you ever have a roofing problem check with Yelp and The Better Business Bureau before hiring a contractor.
