Allen theaters have, for years, trailed the national standard for theaters. Some of this can be attributed to Las Cruces not being a very large place. However, I can't escape the feeling that if there was some competition in town, Allen would have provided more. Currently, if a movie in coming out that I really want to see, I drive to El Paso. I do catch a movie here and there at the Allen theaters. The mall theater is dingy, the El Paseo is OK for a discount theater, and the Telshor location is the best so far. However, last movie I saw at Telshor, the ceiling was missing panels, and it smelled moldy. All and all, not the best movie going experience.Note: I am a cinemaphile. If it gets good reviews, I want to see it, regardless of whether it will "offend" me or question my views and beliefs. It is my understanding, that Allen ownership has resisted showing features that do not match with the owners own religious and political beliefs. While I cannot directly verify this, I can tell you that a certain film, that just earned Sean Penn a best actor Oscar, is not playing here at any Allen Theatre. WTFUpdate: The cineport is here and it is . . . OK. Nothing great here. The theater I was in was small, but elevated in a good stadium setup (nice and steep). Also, the chairs were great. They pivot on two axis and really kept my ass happy through almost three hours of Watchmen. Based on the access to more movies (assuming Allen stops cherry picking them based on politics) and the great chairs I am upgrading Allen theaters to three stars.

Allen Theatres, Inc.-- www.allentheatresinc.com ....not the flashiest site I've seen but it gets the job done. They're always consistent with updating the latest movie information for all of their New Mexico locations: Alamogordo, Carlsbad, Clovis, Cortez, Farmington, Gallup, Hobbs, Las Cruces, Portales, Roswell, and Ruidoso. Even though the site is for small towns, they manage to get information on their site for any shows that have been sold out during opening weekend.A great entertainment resource!

I've seen several movies at Telshor 12 over the last few months, including Rogue One, Logan, and Wonder Woman, and I have yet to have a positive experience at Allen Theaters. To ensure you don't get shut out of a sold out showing, you have to use their terrible, slow website, and the kiosks for picking up your tickets don't work, and then the box office gives you tickets for seats that are already occupied by someone else. The young employees are very nice and friendly, but I can't recommend Allen Theaters to anyone.

This is the BEST this town has to offer in the form of entertainment, sadly. The sad part is that it doesn't matter what I write in this review because no matter what - this is the ONLY place in town to watch a decent movie. I recommend the 40 mile drive to El Paso (in fact if you want to see a major released movie, you kind of have to). Allen theaters is a dirty, dingy place. The seats are horrible and the floor is covered in decades of squishees, coke and gummy.. things. the most horrible thing is that the clientele have no idea how to act in a movie theater. boo...

Horrible experience!! Bought a ticket online. Showed up on time. Got the ticket from the computer in the lobby. Got all the fixings , popcorn, soda, candy... went to do to the theater, only to be told the theater was "down." My ticket was for the 3D version. Only showing in regular theater was an hour and a half later. So what was I suppose to do? Walk out with all my popcorn and stuff. I sat in their lobby for over an hour like an idiot. Ruined my enter experience. Wish I never came. The online ticket should have NEVER been sold to me if it was not available. Im furious!

For a cheap, second-run theater, it's fine. Always find a seat, concessions decent. Glad it's still showing second-run films and not become a regular theater where you're taking out a mortgage to see a film.

They are a struggling in a business that's slowly dying. Add to the recent cost of the new minimum wage there deal at the Launch pad went from good to terrible. Before it was .25.00 you can have any two items off the menu and two tickets. Now it's 35.00, there selection and 2 tickets. They lost me. They lost me when you are paying for the meal and the tickets, no deal no more. if you add up the items they have chosen for you t there prices, it comes out to around 22.00. Do the math you're buying the tickets then some
