Alert Muffler & Brake Service

First off, these guys are super knowledgable mechanics and do more than mufflers and brakes. I was on a cross-country trip when 1987 Toyota 4Runner had some issues so I towed it to Dana and crew, and they had me continuing on my roadtrip in less than an hour, giving me an honest assessment of the simple issues and what I needed to fix now and what could wait until my final destination. If you're traveling through Las Cruces and run into to issues, run to these guys.

I've been meaning to write this review for a month. Okay, so I drove my 27 year old Jeep down from Albuquerque and right as I turned onto the 70, my muffler blew out. We didn't know anyone here in Las Cruces, let alone a trustworthy auto shop. We took the Jeep to Dana at Alert after reading the positive yelp reviews. He replaced the muffler quickly and for a very fair price. Heck of a nice fellow--took the time to tell us about Las Cruces, tips on where to go, etc. Excellent service all around. Highly recommend Alert!

You can tell that Dana has a passion for fixing vehicles. He's always honest with me on how to take better care of my car and get the best deal. Recently, I got in an accident and my brake light shattered. He told me to buy the part online & provided me with the link for the best & least expensive option. When I took it to him to fix, it took 2 seconds, and he didn't even charge me. He's awesome! Best mechanic in town!

Dana and his team at Alert Muffler & Brake are top shelf! They do custom fabrication at reasonable prices. I will definitely use them for automotive services again!

I brought in my 2016 Versa the shop one morning because it had something loose I remember it was cold outside but Dana himself came out and fixed the problem it was a loose bolt on the exhaust it took him five minutes to start the compressed air and one minute to tighten several bolts under neath the car, he did not want any money he just told me to have a good day. This Friday I left the same car with him because I thought it was a motor mount that was bad and needed it fixed. I left the car for a transmission oil change. Dana called me around three o'clock and said the car was ready. I was totally surprised because I thought he would not be done for a couple of days but he said it just needed a transmission oil change motor mount are good. The price for the oil change was reasonable and the car runs good. Dana has done work on my sons Mustang GT exhaust and he is very happy with the work.i trust Dan with my vehicles because he is honest and will tell you what's on his mind and sometimes it's not what you want to hear but he has a lot of experience and it is evident in the work performed.

I was driving back to the west coast in a sprinter van I had purchased out east when it started dragging and making a horrible sound whenever I braked. I had a timeline to be back and You can imagine I was thinking... will I be able to find someone to deal with this, how long will it take, how much will it cost, etc. Based on reviews on Yelp and desperation I drove into their brake shop. Looks a bit run down, but I prefer to think of it as a working shop. Dana immediately identified the problem... the person who had installed the new brakes hadn't tightened the caliper bolt tight enough so it came loose and fell out. Not good! And since it was a sprinter not a standard size bolt. Dana immediately went through the options and started working toward a solution. He suggested I relax next door at the taco shop and he'd let me know if he could find a bolt that would work. Within 5 min he was over at the taco shop saying he was able to make something work. Yeah!! I enjoyed my tacos and was back on the road in less than 30 minutes. If I had gone to a fancy brake place they would have needed an appt and it would have been some 20 year old that only knew what he'd been trained. Dana was a life saver! If you want fancy waiting room, not the place for you. If you want personal knowledgeable service, 100% recommend!!

They were able to get a new muffler and pipes put in the same day. Price is reasonable and great customer service.

Absolutely awesome service!!! These guys know what they are doing and the have excellent customer service. They hooked up my Ram 2500 Power Wagon with Flowmasters and I've had zero issues. Best in town for sure, Highly recommend for any exhaust/muffler service.

Dana is very honest . He has worked on my daughter's Lexus and both of my Shelby gt350's that I've owned and has also called after finishing the repairs to follow up to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. His customer service is awesome !

Dana did an awesome job!! Went in for a Flow Master and was taken RIGHT in and they had it done in an hour!!
