Alba's no longer exists. It has been replaced by a Taqueria. In a small town, things change quickly.

If you blink, you will have missed the town of Mentone, TX. An oil worker's town, located in Loving County, which used to be the least populated county in the country, before the oil boom. This restaurant sits right on the corner of County Rd 300 & 302. It is open for breakfast and lunch. A lot of options for both. I stopped here during the morning hours and got myself a spam & egg breakfast burrito. $5. Seems like all the breakfast items were in that price range. They cooked it from scratch and it did not disappoint. The spam, although it could have been cooked more, adds the perfect saltiness. The burrito was a good size and cured my hunger for the morning. Even prevented me from eating a big lunch. Hopefully I will get to sample some of their lunch options. Parking is limited. But I would definitely recommend.

Not a lot of options in this part of Texas but we were pleasantly surprised. Food was hot, fresh and tasty.
