Alamo Transmission

My light engine came on. Took it to Alamo. The guys got my car up and running within the 3 days promised.. Thank you

Well the story ends here , 2-1/2 yrs later , I finally returned home to Florida with my RV , I was relieved I made home , I thought for sure I would break down somewhere in nowhere's ville but I didn't . This review is both good & bad , so I'll start with the bad : the cost to repair the transmission and other items was a lot of money (10,000$) Gas an Hotels X 3 trips ( 3,000$) Failure to repair on time and accurately was frustrating to say the least, Covid thrown in there was not helpful or a complete scam we all fell for! Also the lack of maintenance on the RV causing a lot of issues due to its stagnant use ! Sam also needs to do what he says or promises if not , compensate his customers. The Good : Sam the Owner n operator of this place seemed pleasant n helpful but just couldn't deliver by fault of his mechanics or him not supervising adequately, but always answered his phone most times, The free storage of my RV saved me a few bucks ( 55$ avg no.cost X 30 months = 1,650$) Warranty for the items replaced but will see if he honors any of his claims . Summery : Knowing what i know about the place of business I would not be returning ever again and would advise the would be customer to seek repairs elsewhere, I don't take pleasure in trying to give a business a bad name but this place needs to revamp its reputation and work harder for its customers.

They're not even worthy of ONE star. Such a SKETCHY establishment. The owner is never around nor answers calls in regards to questions. I payed for an engine swap and after careful examination I noticed it's the SAME motor, same serial #, all that was done was a wash and engine spray paintStay away, save your money and timeNi siquiera son dignos de recibir UNA estrella. Absolutely no Covid Precautions being taken as well as shady business. They stop answering the phone when you call with questions.

Such an excellent place. I recommend it to everyone and anyone. This place works very well and their prices are some of the best. If you're looking for mechanical work look no further. I'm grateful to this company and I'm upset at myself for not having taken my car there to get the clutch installed but instead I took my vehicle to have the c/v axles and something else that has to do with the axle.

Woe to the traveler than finds himself dealing with these people between point a and b. Overcharged for a transmission rebuild that I didn't need and that he didn't do .. after overcharging me he then told me it was adapter plate between the transmission and a transfer case .. not one time showing me burned out clutch pads not one time showing me a clogged particulate filter in the transmission pan .. not one time showing me that he did anything at all .. I did not have time to argue or quibble at the time so I just paid this ...man" .. I was also told that he's pretty quick to call the police if you don't pay your bill .. I was told that is just easier to pay this .. man . Anyway less than 6 months later transmission starts giving me trLtouble not even a year has gone by- but I trust that his warranty is as good as his word or competency as a technician .. so I'm out here on the island with a 02 Chevy yard ornament awaiting my new transmission to be installed for less than a third of what he charged me .. stay the hell away from this guy .

Charged me 10,000.00 cash just to have my truck break down 30 miles later with same problem. 10 days I waited for transmission to get fixed. Never was the transmission it was a speed sensor in the transfer case cause buy a common problem with 2001 Chevy 3500 called " pump rub". Alamo didn't fix anything. They lied about work performed. Spray painted torque converter to look new. Installed cross member upside down. They're hacks. They new I was from out of state and screwed me out of a total of almost 20,000.00. that's includes 2 weeks hotel another 5,400.00 in repairs,towing ect. 3 year warranty we will see. If not small claims court here I come. DONT GO THERE ESPECIALLY IF YOUR FROM OUT OF TOWN.

I had been taking my vehicle for the same repairs for weeks because it never got fixed in the first place.On top of that if you take it back with a complaint because of a warranty they keep your vehicle for weeks without even working on it.They cut corners to make the customer think they fixed a recurring problem by using cheap parts or sometimes they don't replace the defective part at all but they tell you they did.In less than a year I've had to take my vehicle 3 times to fix a tranny leak but the problem persists.I decided to cut my losses and took it somewhere else.Stay away.

This is my second time getting my Jeep serviced here. They do the best job and always give me a great deal. I bought them lunch to thank them. 10/10 recommend

I was traveling from Houston to California passing through El Paso and broke down. I called them at 10 at night and they were the only shop that answered my call. They towed my car to their shop free of charge. They diagnosed the problem the next day and they got me going the same day. I highly recommend this shop. The guys were super nice and helpful.
