Really beautiful scenery and good picnic areas and restrooms. It is just a quick drive from Las Cruces and it's worth seeing as the mountains are beautiful.

I initially scoped this place out on my trip from la to Texas, I was really looking forward to it... then every address I tried, every app including my vehicle, none could seem to find this place. I had given up hope.. that's when I went to go see the white sand dunes.. low and behold, look what I pass on my way there !! So glad to have taken that trip and found this site, it's very cheap and has such a good view ! Not only that but every camp site is strategically placed so each one feels like you're the only one out there. We stayed right near the pay station and there were large rocks on the site that were perfect for star gazing and catching the sunrise ! If this place had a shower it would be almost perfect. I do warn, careful on the drive up to the camp site, happened to come across cattle just chilling on the road, I didn't want to honk and scare so we patiently waited and then drove by slowly, also did see quite a few grazing in the hills. Very cool !

A beautiful hike minus the little snake encounter me and my family had but everything went well and I would love to go back. If you're a avid outdoorsman/women and enjoys a challenging hike this places is perfect for you.We didn't camp at the park but all campsites looked clean and enjoyable for all future campers.

I camped here for a change of pace while driving across country on I-10. I found this place by searching yelp for campgrounds from my iPhone ap while on the road. Great find! There are a couple of things you will want to know if you find this the same way I did. First, note that the map/directions that this yelp site gives you will NOT take you to the campground (it takes you to what must be a BLM office in Las Cruces). UPDATE: I submitted the correct address (Aguirre Springs Road) to Yelp. If that is the address that shows up, it is correct. The Marquess Street address is the incorrect one. These are the directions copied and pasted from the Aguirre Spring website:Location / AccessThe Aguirre Spring Campground is located on the east side of Organ Mountains, east of Las Cruces in Dona Ana County. Take U.S. 70 for 14 miles east of the I-25/U.S. 70 interchange in Las Cruces, then turn south on the Aguirre Spring Road (1.1 miles after San Augustine Pass) for six miles. At mile 4 the road becomes a one-way loop and climbs steeply. Next thing to note is that the only facilities are toilets. They were clean and well kept. These restrooms do not have sinks or mirrors. There are no showers and there is no water at the campsites. You can fill up your water containers at the campground host's site which is right on Aguirre Spring Road as you start driving in. The sites have picnic tables and grills and some have fire pits. There is a loop of campsites that are off to the right of the camping pay station. Those sites are pretty close together, and there were several families camped up there, but they are right at the base of those gorgeous rock mountains. I bypassed this loop and drove down the road a little further and camped in a spot on the left a little ways passed the hiking trail (which is on the right). I loved my spot. I pitched the tent under shady tree. A restroom was close-by. I went for a trail run/hike the following morning. A very well spent $3!

We camped out here during a road trip to california. It was HOT!! but it was also extremely fun. I'm not a real country or one with nature girl, in fact I'm more of a city girl who loves her technology more than anything but this was a breath taking place, great view of the desert. It also has fenced off areas with signs complete with bullet holes that it's near a firing area. (sweet for my boys, the thought the bullet holes were cool) It doesn't cost much to stay, $5 parking, plenty of campsites for tents and parking areas. Beside the bathrooms being my least favorite part there's some good trails to check out, and campsites that accommodate groups of 50+ people down hill.If you're forgetful like I was, the nearest walmart is down the road about 25 minutes towards Las Cruces, there's also little mini marts along that main road but hehe like I said I'm a city girl, I stick to what I know. If I wasn't too allergic to bug bites I recommend an open netted tent, my tent was made for two people but the rocks under the tent had been heated so much during the day that it clearing wasn't going to cool down for us in the evening. Plenty of restroom areas, closed off garbage cans, and nearby bbq and fire pits at each site. next time I'll plan better, because this place is just beautiful. The address listed still doesn't get you to the campsite, just google map it, if you're by Holloman AFB it's literally just down the road. Also, for all active duty military, they're giving away 1 year's worth of memberships into all the national parks, we got ours at White Sands New Mexico but it's valid with the military member and one sponsored person on the card. Great find for camping out. :)Plus in the early mornings we got to watch the cows walk thru the crazy desert terrain.

Great place to visit. Like to there and visit the many different trails. Always different depending on the time of the year. Great views of the Organ Mountains and Tularosa Basin.

!!!IMPORTANT!!!I have not been here so this really isn't a review. But I felt it worth mentioning that I did check the website and called the ranger station about this campground. It does not mention this on the web site but there is no electricity here and much, much more importantly there is NO WATER at this site!!! If you go here you will NEED to pack in all your drinking water. They do have pit toilets though.

One of my favorite places in Las Cruces. There are several trails and tons of off-trail potential. Pine needle loop is 4.5mi and 900ft gain loop with great views. Baylor Pass is 2 mi to saddle and another 4 down to Baylor pass trailhead. Indian hollow is a an out an back that gives you access to Sugarloaf or a remote saddle. Picnic areas are abundant as are camp sites and parking. $5 entrance fee or get an annual pass for 20 or 30...

Aguirre Springs is a hidden gem. You feel like you're out in the wild west, but it's only minutes from Las Cruces. The Pine Tree Trail is the best trail I've hiked in the El Paso/Las Cruces area. Great high country vegetation, ponderosa pines, pinyon pines, etc... The trail is extremely well maintained and for the most part easy hiking. The trail climbs 1,000 feet over 2 miles and then loops back to the trailhead. Great views all the way along the trail. Highly recommended!!
