I have been a patient here for 15 years, and I always appreciated the fact they are very fast and friendly. I never had to wait on appointments for more than a few minutes. The appointment itself was quick and efficient. The best part is the prescriptions were accurate. I am busy so it's great getting in and out with no hassle or drama. I would still go here if they accepted my new insurance company. If you have Davis or VSP, this is a great option.

We had been to this dispensing optician several times before our most recent visit. We were never completely satisfied with the results. My wife waited several weeks for an appointment. The optometrist was polite and seemed proficient at his tasks. The glasses they produce were beyond useless. My wife could not see to drive or to use her computer at work. After several weeks of phone tag she was told she could not see the optometrist again. Even when we offered to pay the full price of another exam. We finally called the insurance. The insurance convinced the office manager to have another set of lenses made, but refused to allow measurements to be made to insure the second set would be accurate. We finally demanded, and after several more days, received a refund. We then went to another clinician where the service vice and treatment were accurate, polite, professional and they treated us as if we really mattered. I have also contacted the state board of optometry. I believe Advanced Vision Care should be shut down. I will warn everyone I know to seek health care for their eyes elsewhere.

The optometrist on staff is very nice and the exam was very quick. He also has some advanced equipment so I didn't have to go thru that uncomfortable blow-air-into-your-eye test. The only thing I could complain about is that the front office staff is a lot abrupt and I felt rushed through the selection process for my newest pair o'specs. Being concerned about my style, I felt awkward. So, if you're easily swayed by someone's opinion, be cautious. Bring a friend. They came in really quick and since I don't have insurance, they take CareCredit, my medical expenses credit card. Overall, not terrible but not amazing either.

Everything was great! Really do like how the office is run. Very professional staff. The young man that did the eye test was super nice ! I'm so happy that I returned back to Dr.Matthews . Love my new glasses! And my prescription!

Dr Mathews is very professional and has the latest equipment to conduct exams. He is a pleasure to speak with and informs his customers of their health care and what to expect.This is the second time we have taken our family to this office because of Dr Mathews. Our first visit was unpleasant because of the front desk staff and we thought perhaps they were just having a "bad day". We returned with our family again this year and I was shocked to walk back in to the unpleasant front desk lady who did not greet us but instead rudely handed us our paperwork. The "office manager" never once acknowledged our presence and seemed to be bothered when we asked to take our prescription. We were charged for an exam that we didn't request and was told that when we made the appointment it was "explained". I asked for clarification as to the reasons for the charge and was told that it was "other tests", much to my surprise i was told that the exam had already been done so we would be billed for the exam. The issue is the rude unprofessional front desk clerk and "office manager" who seem to be burdened by incoming customers. They do not explain cost nor out of pocket expenses before exams. I notified the front desk clerk that she was not courteous and was unprofessional. She began yelling at me in front of other customers and then called me "ridiculous" and asked me to leave the office. We are very saddened because Dr Mathews is a true professional, however the front desk staff and office manager need to find jobs they would be happy in because customer service is not for them!

Dr. Matthews is one of the friendliest optometrists in the Las Cruces area. The staff is super helpful and the atmosphere is very calm and comforting! Will be continuing to go here and recommend it highly!

I have been patronizing Advanced Vision Care for a number of years. I have always been frustrated that neither the employee administering the "machine tests" (cataracts, glaucoma) nor Dr. Matthews will tell me any results without me asking. My visit last week was no different, but I also had new issues. I told Dr. Matthews I have been having issues with a watering eye. He replied he'd been hearing that several times each day (due to smoke in the air), and I should buy a certain eye drop he would write down for me. He never even checked my eye to see if it might be a different issue. I will not buy a medicine recommended by a doctor who did not even examine me. Dr. Matthews only spent a very brief time with me and at one point said "this won't take long." I was in no hurry but obviously he was. I felt like I was practically shoved out of the examination room. Of course, he told me nothing, and I had to ask how my eyes were and if I needed a new eyeglasses prescription. This isn't any way to treat a customer who paid $110+ for an eye examination.

Dr. Matthews and staff are just the best. I actually come to Las Cruces once a year to visit and get my eyes checked. I won't go anywhere else! Highly recommend!!

I was a walk in patient because everyone else was booked up for weeks. I didn't have to wait too long and the staff was friendly. The Dr. was nice and helpful too. Very professional and no hassles. Also, their prices were as good if not better than anyone else (I had a contact exam).
