I Love coming out to the Adobe Deli; it's far enough out of town to make it an adventure but not too far for a fun night out. The ambiance is a taxidermist's mother load of stuffed critters of All types & forms! The ribeye was sublime served with baked potato soup or salad. I Always go for the French Onion Soup as it's broth is rich and unctuous with plenty of melted cheese!

Came back a year later for another try. This time our group of 5 started with a large appetizer tray consisting of fried mushrooms, green beans and jalapeño poppers. Washed em down with some cold brews. Very good. I had the NY Strip with a baked potato and salad. Three others had Rib Eyes with baked potatoes and French Onion Soup, and one had the Green Chile Cheeseburger with fries. The soup was outstanding. The burger also had 1/2 lb of quality meat and needed to be cut in half to eat properly. All in all this is a must go experience if you're ever in the Deming area.

If you're looking for a rustic hole in the wall with characters from all walks of the earth, good food, cold beer, this is your spot my friend. Upon driving down the road, we weren't exactly sure what we had gotten ourselves into. Tucked in the middle of the desert and full of antiques sits this fine establishment. Once we cozied up to the bar, we were amazed with all of the walls covered in years of amenities, trophies, craziness, and greeted with a bartender who provided us with a tour of the establishment. If we could recommend anything, you've got to try the New Mexican Chicken Rolls as an appetizer. Additionally we ordered ribs and steaks which both came out to order & homemade. We actually went here twice in two days. All outstanding. P.S. if you're a fan of the "Fallout" video games or Amazon series, this IS your spot.

Overpriced, defrosted food in a dark cave covered with taxidermy and layers of dust. We went on a Sunday which ended up being the one day they don't serve deli sandwiches. We waited 20 minutes to order drinks. The beef on the $18 hamburger ended up being frozen, preformed patties so I went with cheese fries. Steak and fries was near $40. Deli sandwiches $18. My sons corn dog was tough like it had been microwaved on the wrong setting straight out the freezer. My daughter got Mac n cheese that was Kraft style (nearly $10 a kids meal with fries and water) And to top it off, no hand soap in the bathrooms.

What happened to this place? Sure, it's in a rundown impoverished area, but.....! The stale smoke smell slaps your nostrils entering. Thought smoking in public had left a while ago. Have eaten here over time for the unique decor and menu. Duck, tilapia, lots of beef. Not super busy, yet not quickly acknowledged. A staple has been the French onion soup & it was wonderful yet watery. Meals come with choice of soup or salad and choice of starch. Was pleasantly surprised with tender fresh asparagus. Went with ossu bucco (meat fell off the bone) and chicken cordon Bleu. Bird was thick, tough, dry, & greasy. They also forgot to remove a large bone from the cutlet. Oops. This might have been a low 3 star, but the real insult was the addition of a hefty surcharge for credit card use. $66 for an only ok dinner in the boonies is crazy. Correct- 1 beer only. It was interesting seeing a dollar bill covering the crotch of a life-size Melania trump cardboard cutout.

Interesting place. Food was good, a little pricey. But I really went for the experience and that was awesome. To hear about the story of the location, the ghosts tales, and the customers were super friendly. I would return again if in that area to try their French onion soup. That looks soo delicious!!

This is the second time I've dined at The Adobe Deli! On This trip, I brought had to bring my adult children & two besties traveling from Southern California! My sister lives in Las Cruces & brought me here to dine about 5 years ago! Although it's a little off the beaten path, but it definitely is worth the drive! The food is so good & the staff are very friendly, outgoing & give great service! You won't be disappointed! The building used to be a school & there's rumors that it is haunted! Even Ghost Adventures from the Travel Channel did an episode about the Lewis Flat School which is now the Adobe Deli!

This place was the coolest place to eat I can remember ever being at. It's about 10 miles southeast of Deming in the desert. I heard about it from several different people, the first being a gentleman standing in a grocery line at Walmart when I was discussing a French Onion Soup. He brought up Adobe Deli as having the best onion soup. I heard about the soup from multiple other folks along the way. I looked it up on Yelp and enjoyed looking at the menu. However, it is costly. The portions are huge. I wanted a Ruben sandwich but some sandwiches were only served between 11:00-2:00. It was already 4:00 so I was very disappointed. But I did have a cold roast beef sandwich that was huge. My husband had a French dip sandwich. He said it was great. We both brought half of our sandwiches. The place it had quite an atmosphere of the old west. Almost a museum. It had a huge big screen TV that was running rodeos. Several people were enjoying the pool table. There was plenty of eating space available. Our waiter was super friendly and constantly available to us and our needs. It was a super place to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary! But the soup! Worth the trip alone! Go there, ASAP!!!

The service was great and the Bloody Mary's were good. The eclectic atmosphere is also worthy experience. I ordered a T-bone steak. When it arrived at my table, the T-bone came without the loin. Also the steak had NO flavor whatsoever. It was a true disappointment since I had been told that the steaks were great there. It will be a while until I visit again.
