Had a delightful stay at the Adobe Agave. Apartment #1 was just right for me, my husband, and our teenage daughter. Ellen is a wonderful host and her historic house is full of character and fabulous personal touches. The charm of the space definitely added to our visit. Great location, easy check-in and check-out, well-appointed, and comfortable beds. Thank you. We'll definitely stay again.

Loved staying here for a week. Love those warm muffins delivered every morning in a basket and tea towel. Very good Silver City location for walking to the historic district.

Ellen was a very gracious and helpful host. She is very welcoming and had tons of information for us. I only drink decaf and she brought me some beans that I could grind each morning. The charming stucco apartment had a fully stocked kitchen and just the right amount of room. We are birders so Ellen got us in touch with a birding expert and we enjoyed spending a day with him. We loved Silver City and Agave Adobe!

I would not stay here. Holes in the wall by the door, toilet did not flush without removing the top of the tank, dust on walls, ceiling fans and bed is on floor, not on frame. Overall, not a good choice for a short or long term stay.

Escape from the mundane, homogenized hotel/motel experience. Step back a decade or so when life was less hectic and people actually smiled and said "good morning" as you stroll down the street. My seven day sojourn in Silver City, New Mexico has been nothing but enchanting. So much so that I have now transplanted myself here - to a new world, full of warm colors, flavor and history. My three friends and I stayed at the Adobe Agave, a historic adobe B & B, (vacation rental) located in an established residential neighborhood - within walking distance of the "old" downtown's restaurants, galleries and my favorite gelateria, Aloto Gelato (try a combo of sour cherry and chocolate). Our completely furnished, fully equipped kitchen gave us the option of preparing picnic lunches for our day trips to the Gila, the City of Rocks and bicycle touring or the comfort of knowing we could walk home after enjoying a great meal at Diane's and burn off that last bite of homemade cake.As you may have surmised by now, I am a "foodie" wantabee. On a quest for the simple pleasures, no pretense and good value and Adobe Agave provided me and my guests all of that and more. I have made new friends here, have gone to wine tastings at the Esperanza Winery in the Mimbres where we spent a most enjoyable day, sans email, phone, etc. After a full day's adventure, returning to a hot bath - an extremely comfortable bed, I sleep. The humming birds outside my window slowly bring me back to consciousness, and the sun starts to warm the garden wall. I pour my coffee, go out into the garden, sit and thank the "stars" for bringing me here.Silver City has a vibrant arts community, hosts a variety of annual events such as the Tour of the Gila (bicyclists), a Jazz festival, Gem and Mineral show and more. Check out www.silvercity.org for more things to do or just simply "be" and enjoy the hospitality.
