Addie's Diner

I want to start with this review saying I loved Addies dinner for years, been going on and off since 18 and now that I have moved to midland full time I've been going the last 9 months. Taken the wife, in laws and business associates here numerous times. 5 just in the last 2 months, 6 if you include us stopping by for thanksgiving. Yesterday my Wife ordered her food, She got the waffle meal. Was wonderful aside from the fact they don't have real butter but whipped spread but we have known that since we started coming here together. I ordered my normally meal I get all the time, Texas trio omelette hold the onions and green bell peppers, Add three eggs , green Chile and Chile verde. No hash browns or beans. Just a tortilla because they are so good. Well I guess they (the cook) thought I meant jalapeños instead of green Chile, even though I specifically said it. So I asked to send it back because I didn't want raw jalapeños. Waitress was nice and understood but the cook, she had a huge problem with it and in the back started yelling saying I didn't know the difference or know what green peppers were or anything cussing and yelling. She then started cussing in Spanish saying we were white and didn't know what we were talking about, I'm half Mexican and white, and speak Spanish, my wife has 18 years of Spanish learning including in college with time spent across South America being a translator for her family and friends on excursions. We know what green Chile , green bell peppers (which I'm allergic to) and green jalapeños are. The main cook left and sat in the back of the restaurant talking under her breath while the other cook made my new food, didn't want any discounts just my food made right. Food was great so was my wife's food. I paid with no discounts because I didn't want any. What was terrible, is while I was paying my wife walked outside and the cook was standing out there filming us leave. And once I got back to the car the wife told me she heard the cook cuss saying " ya turn around expletive" towards my wife. I didn't know this until I had already gotten in the car. Told my wife she looked liked she was on the phone on a FaceTime. And the wife said I think she was filming. I let this go yesterday but thought about it over night. I will never patron Addie's again and the 100s of times I've gone over the years won't matter, more the 10s of people I've sent there or recommended to there I will not. I called numerous people and explained to never go there again. It's not correct to treat customers this way. As a business owner in midland this isnt something I would do for my service company. Nor stand if I had an employee do this. Absolutely disrespectful and disgusting.

Food was good but nor out of this world great. service -ok. The big issue is when u pay they have the tips (we always tip) set up at 35%, 45%, and 50% which is completely out of their mind. Would I recommend this place to another, probably not out of principal and I'd hate to have another person come back and say, dude, I got diddied on the bill. What's up with that?

I remember back in the day when you ordered the omelette to go it would take up a whole take out plate..I guess times are hard cause this ain't a 3 egg omelette..

Great choice for breakfast! I got an omelet with potatoes. Everything was very well seasoned and the service was great too. There was even a character appearance by a man in a bear costume. Portion sizes were great.

The absolute best breakfast in Midland! I have been here in town for months and finally found one with handmade chicken friend steak! The portions are huge, so you definitely get that you pay for. Service was great. It's a family owned restaurant and the history behind it makes you love it even more. It's not as fancy as a Dennys, but you certainly feel welcomed! Better come hungry, this place will leave you feeling like a stuffed turkey on Thanksgiving!

Food was awesome. Service was really good. I do not remember the name of the gentleman who seated us but he was a blast! It was a little warm in there but, hey, it's Midland in the summertime. Would ear here again whenever I visit Midland.

We found this little gem on Yelp, but the neighborhood and outside almost scared me away lol! But Addie's friendly staff and homemade delicious food made up for it. Located in an industrial neighborhood this funky little restaurant was adorable. We had a homemade biscuit with gravy, a western omelette with homemade hash browns and a number 4 special, eggs, sausage, beans, potatoes and a gigantic pancake. Everything comes out extra hot through the pass thru in the dining room.It's our first time in Midland Texas and we love supporting community businesses!

Reminds me of Mel's Diner. Everything is greasy. Very greasy. Not my favorite place but I give it a retry once in a while.

Food was excellent portions were good.Waitstaff very friendly and they take their job seriously.Restaurant was clean and what you would expect for a small cafe.All that being said expect a wait for seating but worth it!!

Me and come co workers went here for lunch. It sucked. The servers took 20 minutes to ask us for drinks. We finally ordered. We waited 45 minutes to get food. After we all got our food and ordered different entrees, none of us were happy with our food. After a minute of getting into our food, we all looked at each other and were agreeable that this place is trash.
