Whenever a big event gets shown, a few times it gets shown here at the theatre. I've seen Bill Cosby, Steve Martin and Martin Short, and recently Kevin James here.It may not be state of the art but it gets the job done. Parking is directly below. It can get congested so make aure you plan enough time to arrive before the event. Give yourself at least 30 minutes to an hour. If there is a baseball game it can get really busy coming down Santa Fe Rd.

Disney princesses came to El Paso tonight and I washere for it! I haven't gone back to Disneyland in 3 years and I didn't realize how much I missed it until they brought the magic and wonder with them. I was given tickets to give away as well as to go see the show. I Disneybound as Snow White and my little was Cinderella, but people mistook her for Elsa because she was lit up and glowing. The theater was super easy to get to and parking was $10 downstairs in the garage. *Pro tip* You might want to use the 2 right lanes since they have attendants at the garage entrance and you don't have to wait in the one long right lane. Once parked you can just walk or take the elevator up to the main lobby. Security will wand you and the box office is to the right. Once inside each level will have individual bathrooms, men on the left and women to the right. *Pro tip #2* use the bathrooms upstairs, the lines are far shorter. It's a beautiful setup with the chandeliers lit up and the aisles were clean and at any angle you will have fabulous views. The seats also shift backwards and tilts and the leg room was generous. The attendants were helpful and knew their stuff. The Princesses sang live in concert and these were the original Broadway stars from Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Anastasia, and Aladdin. They sang all the princess songs and then some! From ALL the princess songs to some originals that were on Broadway like Nala's song and Live action movies like Aladdin (Jasmine's song) to movies like Enchanted and even non canon Disney movies like Anastasia! They accompanied the music with funny and lovely stories and anecdotes from their time on the shows. My favorites were actually "I won't say I'm In Love" Megara's song from Hercules and Mother Gothel's "Mother Knows Best" from Rapunzel. Both were incidentally sung by the incomparable Sugar Egan. I especially loved when they sang duets and harmonies. If they land in your city, book the tickets and get ready to be transported into the movies that you know and love. They brought the Disney magic that has been so missing for the past few years. You'll see sooo many littles dressed up and dancing in the aisles to the music and adults singing music from their childhood movies. I loved every minute and am so stoked that Disney magic is back!

We went for a concert and took my in-laws who are in their 80's. We thought since it was in a theater we might actually be able to watch it comfortably without people standing up in front of us and being rude. In a bar we expect everyone to stand up, but in a theater we pay to sit!Toward the end the people in front of us stood up again and my husband pointed his flashlight at the people in front of us hoping that they would sit down. instead they told him "f... you old man" and the girls with them went and told the police. They came and led my husband out but before they did the kid said the same thing to my husband while the cop was there. my husband stated "and you're kicking me out?" My husband wanted to talk to someone in charge but the cop stated "you're not talking to anyone old man"we don't drink so that wasn't the case. But their is no respect anymoreThe seating was uncomfortable, the bathrooms were dirty and out of toilet paper and the acoustics were bad.We will not go back and certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I had never been here and I finally got the opportunity to on Friday as we received tickets to the Pink Floyd's laser spectacular show. (thanks Yelp) We arrived about an hour before the show and we began to look for the box office. There is a huge courtyard in front of the theaters entrance and it's well lit. We found finally found the box office (it's a little hidden) as we didn't realize we had walked by it like 36292 times. The ticket lady was friendly and she handed us our tickets. Doors opened about an hour prior and there was plenty of security checking bags and body scans. There are three levels to this place and it's shaped into a big C? The building curves around and there are stairs and elevators. The bathroom on the second floor was very clean and there is a separate section towards the entrance of the bathroom with comfy seats. We got pretty good seats in the theater but for some reason the seats feel very crammed and little. I was lucky enough to not have anyone in the seat next to me so I had some room. The chairs are very uncomfortable and in no way can you get comfortable.... sorry if you have somebody sitting on both sides of you cause oooo you will be uncomfortable..Overall we had a pretty neat experience and we got pretty good tickets. This place definitely needs new seating though!

I've seen two concerts here which were really good but there's just some things that are extremely annoying that really distract from the show. One is the lighting from the hall. There's always a person getting up to go out to the bathroom or to get a drink and the light is so bright while you're sitting in a dark room. They need to figure something out. Maybe put up a curtain or a different lighting system. The other thing that really annoyed me was the damn photographer! I know he's got a job to do but he was on every square inch of the stage taking a million photos. Dude needs to tone it down a bit.

First time and it's been great. The venue is grand in the photos but it's quaint in person. Still the atmosphere is wonderful and the facility is clean. Streets leading to the parking garage were closed due to outdoor events but other than that it was worth the $10 parking fee.

Last night I hit up the Abraham Chavez Theatre with local comedians Kitty Commando and Otis Hicks (remember these names!) to watch one of my absolute favorite comedians, Damon Wayans. I think the turnout was less than what the booking company and Damon were expecting, but almost half the venue was filled and that didn't deter him from putting on a hilarious show complete with some character bits (most people wanted Homie, but I live for Major Payne). During his set, Damon dropped (okay, really he threw it) the mic a couple of times, but the sound system never wavered...wired mics, man. Wired mics.I hadn't been to this the ACT in years (the last time being sometime during my senior year of high school) and I had completely forgotten how much I dislike the seating here. The small red chairs need a major overhaul and I think the very middle chair of every row should be taken out to create a pathway for those getting up during the middle of the show for refreshments. I dislike these chairs because it is impossible to get comfortable in them, you have to sit at a 90 degree angle at all times and the space between the rows are rather small, like airplane-isle small.I appreciate that this theatre does serve sodas and alcohol. I wish that popcorn was an option too though. The prices are a little high considering it's mostly just Bud-beer products, but you can always pull an Otis and take a few shots of Tequila beforehand. This overall design and flow of this theatre is very interesting. The entire building is in the shape of a circle which somehow makes walking around more fluid than most venues. Staff is posted before each door and will direct you to your seat if you get lost and need help. The one policy that kind of kills me is "No re-admittance". You can leave your seat and go to the bathroom or get a drink, but if you leave the building they will not allow you back in with your ticket...kind of sucks if you show up super early or you're watching a performance that has an intermission. This is such a cool venue with awesome shows so definitely check-out VisitElPaso.com to find out what's happening. And since it's cater-cornered to the Convention Center if you're checking out a show on a Friday during the summer you can probably catch Alfresco! Fridays (a free music series put on every year).

While the Abraham Chavez Theater lacks the retro elegance of the Plaza, it is still a very nice and classy venue, with much better seating accommodations than across the street. The AC will usually be the place where the more high-profile acts that come to El Paso perform, like Broadway plays, major music artists, top comedians, and for some reason, George Lopez. Now I could tell you all about how George Lopez is not funny, but I would rather tell you about how wonderfully organized and helpful the event staff is here and how seamless the entering and exiting processes are! The convention center parking is also super convenient. I should come to more events here and so should you! (just not George Lopez)

We recently attended the Aaron Watson concert at the Abraham Chavez Theatre. It was very clean, the women's rest room was also very clean, and the temperature was just right - not too hot & not too cold. We enjoyed the show, the venue, and the vendors.

Sound in theatre was horrible. Bought a drink with double shot for almost $30, no liquor at all. So overpriced!! Get a sealed beer instead
