This is the 2nd time I've used A-1. The 1st time, just over 2 years ago, they were great. THIS time - HORRIBLE - I feel as though they 'bait & switched' me for a tow from the same area to the exact same mechanic as last time.I had a preset 7A appt Wed morning with my mechanic. I called A-1 the day before to set up the tow, with the truck to arrive at 6A for the 45 minute ride.Meagan, the dispatcher, took my call. Since I have a fairly new street address, it does not populate on any mapping services / apps yet, so I gave her detailed (EASY) directions to my place. She even told me she knew exactly where the permanent landmarks I gave her, were.I had the call on speaker phone with my wife listening & she quoted me a total of $248.68 for the tow & the driver would be here at 6A Wed morning. I called the morning of the tow at 4:38A to confirm they would be here at 6A, A-1 said they would be.The driver called me at 5:37A Wed morning, stating he was 'on the way', and would be there about 6A.The driver called again @ 6:08A, saying he was lost & could I give him directions, which I did. I asked what happened to my directions from Meagan & he stated he didn't have the complete directions - that's why he was lost.The driver called again @ 6:11A, still lost, so I texted him my coordinates, which brings anyone directly to our home. When he told me where he was, I knew he wouldn't be here until around 7A (1 hour late), which was the time of my pre-set appt at my mechanic.When he got here, he wanted to show on his phone & explain why he didn't have complete directions - but when he clicked on one of his apps drop-down boxes, I SAW the EXACT directions were right there.Before he hooked me up, he CONFIRMED the total of $248.68 with me, which I acknowledged. He hooked me up & we finally left about 7:15A for any approximate 8A arrival for my 7A appt w my mechanic.On the way there, the driver THEN told me the total would be a little higher due to his being lost, even though both the dispatcher & he had the EXACT location of where to pick me up. I figured a few extra bucks.Once at the mechanic, the driver told me he would get the corrected, updated amount, we would get the invoice paid & then he would unhook my truck.TEN minutes later after watching him pace back & forth while on the phone w his office, while they still had possession of my truck, he told me the NEW TOTAL WAS $462.78 - TWO HUNDRED FOUFRTEEN DOLLARS MORE than what I was quoted the day before from Meagan AND what the driver confirmed with me just 1+ hour earlier.!He WOULD NOT unhook my truck until I paid the new total, and all he could say was 'Sorry'. So I had to pay the bill to get possession of my truck back so the mechanic could repair it.I immediately called Meagan about LARGE invoice discrepancy & asked for a detailed billing receipt, other than the total amount billed, which she emailed me.She stated the new total was due to them not really knowing where the pickup was, even though she acknowledged the day before she knew where I was AND the driver showing me that morning the EXACT directions on his phone. They knew EXACTLY where I wasWhen I looked at the itemized receipt, not only were the arrival & departure times fudged to show what they 'should have been - not what they actually were', halfway down the itemized receipt the EXACT DIRECTIONS TO MY HOME ARE PRINTED AS PART OF THE INVOICE. They knew EXACTLY where I was.I believe due to the fact the driver was lost & arrived here an hour late, they had to 'make up' for that 'lost dispatch' time & held my truck HOSTAGE until I paid the $214 MORE total amount.I called Meagan again early Thursday afternoon & told her what they were doing was not right. She said she would talk to her tow manager & would call me back the next day, Friday, at the latest.No call came - I called at 11:32A Monday morning - guess what - she was JUST getting ready to call me when I called in - what a coincidence.!Manager stated "they would not refund difference since charge already posted, sorry'.

When you are stranded on I10 with a monsoon storm barreling down, the lights of the wrecker are a welcome sight. There was a wait, but they were coming from 50 miles away. The incident that put me there was harrowing, and i was shaken. Tray bought me a soda when he filled up in the next town to take me the 80 miles to Las Cruces. He was so very kind. He had no problem with the dog. He played music he thought this 65 yo woman would like/know. We talked this and that, and laughed a bit. i could relax and finally felt safe. We were able to drop the car at the dealer before the lot closed which was a concern due to the time. They are professional, and Tray is an asset. He flipped my day: part comedian, part psychologist, and "bad to the bone". hahaha. thanks so much.

Slid off the road and was stuck at a angle that could have resulted in the vehicle rolling down the embankment. A1 brought equipment and personnel that were able to get vehicle back on road with no damage to vehicle and in the dark! Thanks guys.

This was by far the best experience after being stranded on the side of the highway for two hours, and the previous towing company cancelling on me, Johnny came within 30 mins. His friendly and calming personality made the experience so much better. if you're needing a tow or a jump please use this place!!!!! 10/10. thanks Johnny for saving us in the middle of the night!!!

Wow, these guys are great!We were towing our travel trailer East on I-10 and had to make an emergency stop on the shoulder for a truck issue. Thankfully, our insurance roadside assistance paid for & called A-1 Towing to help us out! Interacting with both Andy & Danny from A-1 was a great experience, they are very kind & professional. Danny safely loaded our truck on their flatbed truck, attached our trailer to the rear hitch, towed it all to a repair shop, and got us set up for the evening in the shop's parking lot. Overall, Danny went above and beyond to be sure my family & I were safe during the whole process and before he left us for the evening.I hope we never need a rescue like that again, but if we do, I can only hope we find another company like A-1 to help us. Thanks again Andy & Danny, you guys are great!

He hung up on me because I missed a phone call stranded on freeway . Horrible customer service! I went up the road looking for help and when I got back he called screamed at me and hung up on me ! Horrible!
