El Papas

Came it and was quickly greeted. I came in for lunch on a Thursday and it was pretty slow but had a great vibe with music playing. Asked for a spicier salsa and they delivered. Ordered a carne asada torta.It was good - salsa was good but not hot. Everything was good not great.

First time here for breakfast with family. My wife saw some TikTok reviews so we decided to take her for a ride.Inside very clean and the music is Cumbias, which is a little different from standard Mexican music but was very pleasant to listen to.Now for the good stuff.I had the chorizo and eggs and I enjoyed it very much. The beans are old school homemade and very very good. My wife had the menudo and she liked it but wasn't the best she has had but still good.My son had the chilaquiles with potatoes and they were very good. The potatoes are homemade and very good. My granddaughter had the crepes, chocolate and strawberries and she loved them. Her bacon was cooked just the way she likes them. The service was fantastic and the servers were very attentive and eager to make us happy. Overall, this is a great place to try. Can't wait to try the wings, I hear they are pretty good. Also, they have karaoke on Friday nights that I will have to try.Please give this family owned business a try.

This was our first time here, seems like it has only been open a few months. The staff are all friendly and it was spotless clean inside. When we we first arrived we had a little trouble with parking, all the street parking out front was full, the parking next to the building is marked for the restaurant next door only, and there are signs that tell you park in the back for the previous restaurant that was here but when we went to park there it didn't appear to be public parking but staff parking as there was no way to go to the front. We ended up parking across the street.We received chips and salsa, the chips were freshly made, the salsa was ok, I actually also received a green salsa and I liked that one better. My carnita tacos were good, had pretty good flavor. The carne asada fries and nachos were decent large portions, could use a little more flavoring. The chicharron tacos I ended up giving to my husband I just wasn't crazy about them but he said they were ok. I think this place could be really good, just a little more seasoning. Also the drinks are in a can but they do give you a cup with ice, they also have agua Frescas but appeared to be in a machine. The prices are decent, the tacos are not the typical small taco sizes as you would normally get at a taco shop they are the regular corn tortilla size, for 10 bucks you get 2 tacos.We will go back to give it another try as we typically do when something is just opening.

I cannot say enough good things about El Papas and everyone who works there. My father passed away unexpectedly at the beginning of May and this restaurant was located across the street from the funeral home we used, so when we were making the arrangements for the service we decided to check out the restaurant as a possible reception venue since it would be very convenient for our guests. Our first time in, we were greeted and served by Adrianna who treated us like family. It really felt like we had been friends forever and she took the best care of anything we needed. Her service was some of the best I have ever received and to top it off, the food was delicious and freshly made. We had a variety of food, but the big hits were the enchiladas (not pictured) and the torta ahogada. The salsas and aguas frescas (especially the maracuyá) were also super yummy. After approving of the food, we spoke to Adrianna about the possibility of hosting our reception lunch there and she introduced us to her husband Jose who gave us more information and options. Once we had an idea of what we wanted, he gave us a quote and we told him we would get back to him since we had more errands to run. Later that evening, I got a call from the owner, Jackie, who said she wanted to offer us a discount on the price Jose has given us because she understood what it was like to lose a parent and all that goes in to planning a funeral. She also told me she wanted the community of Tolleson to know that the restaurant is proud to be a part of the community and wanted to help serve its people during their time of need. I was floored. Her genuine generosity moved me, and we agreed on using the location for our reception. The day of the funeral, we arrived and to our surprise there was a flower arrangement for my father on behalf of the restaurant, another beautiful and unexpected touch. The service was too notch as usual, the food was delicious, the beers were cold, the music was perfect and most importantly all of our guests had a great time celebrating the life of my dad. Overall, words can't express the gratitude I feel to everyone at El Papas who allowed us to end such a hard day with a beautiful memory. It will definitely be a staple in our lives from now on and I can't recommend them enough. In this day and age, it is rare to feel valued as a customer, but the El Papas crew truly goes above and beyond to make sure it's patrons feel like family.

Loved this place. Our server was super sweet and very attentive. Amazing service and would definitely recommend. We had the carne asada fries and churros and were so delicious. They even put sound on a soccer game we requested. Muchas gracias por su amabilidad!

Los tacos de chicharron estan pa chuparrse los dedos. Son super amigables y limpios. Tienen karaoke y banda los fines de semana.

Great and delicious Authentic Mexican flavors !! Burrito big enough to share and chicharrón tacos are delicious. Service was great friendly! Clean restaurant and bathrooms which to me is important.

Such a cute spot! They had some good food that I really want to go back and try! I was there super early because I was meeting some people there and the waitress mentioned she had just finished a batch of champurrado. OMGosh, it was delicious! So perfect for the cold morning and I even got one to go. Staff was very helpful and just super nice. Great find!

Service was slow and the food wasn't that good I think they forgot about us because we sat outside and the salsa wasn't good either

The service was good. The waitress was super busy but she was doing everything and doing it well. She was taking care of the dining room, being the cashier while washing stuff down. Enough about service though.Food: food was delicious. The salsa was the perfect amount of heat. The chips were tortilla chips. Good but nothing special. My fiancé had a carne asada burrito bowl. It doesn't look like a large serving but it was filling. The meat was very good. I had the Barbacoa and it was very tasty. I eat slow so my tortillas got a little hard by taco three, but they did offer more which I didn't take as I just ate the meat plain. It was that good. The beans were delicious too! The only reason it was 4 stars and probably strictly on taste preference was the rice. It was still a little hard and bland. With that said, I would definitely try it again. They even have live music in the evening and I'm sad we were not here then. Give it a try. It's a chill little place and super clean!
