It's a small restaurant with plenty of seating. Lots of menu items to choose from. They have Gorditas, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, fish, soup, rice/beans and lots of meats. I have to be honest and say I wasn't impressed with the service. Could be that we arrived at around 845 and they closed at 9 but we didn't feel welcomed. The girl that took our order appeared to be annoyed we wanted to order. When we ordered the tacos plate we asked what comes in tacos. When she answered the first time with her head down and we couldn't hear hear and asked her again she held held head down and rolled her eyes looking at us and answered again. The service barely got 3/5.We ordered tacos plate and the Gordita and taco combo. The carne asada was very tasty and well seasoned. That gets a 5/5. I personally would not call a gordita what they refer to as a Gordita. Gorditas are stuffed with meat inside and held together in one piece like a pocket. They serve you two thick corn fried tortillas which were very delicious btw, with meat mixed with beans that sit on the bottom. To be honest I was very confused. Am I supposed to eat it like a taco or tostada? Either way, it's not a Gordita but that tortilla gets a 5/5. The al pastor was 2/5. The seasoning was okay but not impressed because the meat was too soupy for me and the overload of beans mixed with the meat, in my opinion is not necessary. Rice and beans was good 4/5. The avocado salsa tasted good 4/5. What's interesting is that they have a salsa bar but you are limited to just 2. They have a sign that says anything over 2 sauces you have to pay $1.25 and that's for the little bitty sauce. This is the first time I've ever seen a Mexican restaurant with an open bar do this. In my opinion this is tacky and ridiculous. I understand they cost money but if this is the case, they're best just personally handing he salsas at the counter. Overall, I would recommend because they have good food but I'm not sure if personally go back due to not feeling welcome and the charging of the salsas.

Tacos - asada was okay, less charred flavor and more of the ground beef flavor which I don't like. Pastor was marinated, but not in the usual red achiote flavor. Pollo was the braised style. Salsas - the green and red chip salsas were spicier than the red hot. Hard to appreciate any spice in the red hot, though nice subtle toastiness. Soup! Don't usually like soup but the shrimp soup was a nice surprise - with the lime, cilantro, and onions, it made for an ongoing appetizing experience. Nicely cooked & tasty celery, bell peppers, and potatoes- like a Mexican minestrone. Not too fishy, and nice flavor & texture of shrimp. Would have the soup again.

Came here to Scottsdale and was craving some tacos, this spot was definitely good! So we went in and the space was extremely clean and the front counter hosts were really nice. We ordered 2 different plates, and the food came quickly. The taste was good and the price was also extremely fair for what u get. I would definitely come back purely because of how clean they keep the place.

Decent food and the service was fairly quick. Tried the carne asada plate with a horchata. The plate will definitely fill you up. There is a small self serving salsa bar with 3 choices. The horchata was great. It's a small shop and there is space for tables for dine in.

I got the 3 taco plate with 1 carne asada taco, 1 al pastor taco, and 1 carnitas taco. The carnitas were pretty dry, but I did enjoy the carne asada. I got double rice and it was pretty good, just standard mexican rice. I also tried the cheese quesadilla and that was the best thing I had from here.

This place was pretty good! The season was a different to my liking! Which is understandable this Arizona and I'm from California. The tacos were excellent! The carnitas could been grilled a little longer! The beans were great!

Hungry for lunch and don't want to wait? You better get there early. I arrived at 11:25am and the line was out the door!El Original Tacos Jalisco is located in a tiny strip mall. Parking is limited and cars are plentiful, so you may need to park on a side street during peak hours. The service was as fast as could be expected, considering the size of the crowd. After about 10 minutes waiting to place the order, the food arrived about another ten minutes later. Not bad, considering they also seemed to have numerous take out orders to fill. The dining room was tight. Every seat in the house was occupied, so consider yourself lucky to nab one. They have MCC on the tellie if you're into that sort of thing. (Volume is rather loud.)I ordered the #10, a Quesadilla and Taco Combo (drink not included). The Carne Asada taco was spicy for my taste, but may be welcomed if you like to kick it up a notch. The refried beans, shredded iceberg lettuce, diced tomatoes and chips were all fine. The standout was definitely the guacamole. It was prepared simply. I'm not sure what was in it, but the flavor was outstanding! I also enjoyed the carb- loaded goodness of the fluffy rice. Also, the quesadilla was "muy bien"! It could have been heated another minute or two to help melt the ample cheese portion, but I would definitely recommend it. A bit of minced onion gave it just the right texture.I hope to revisit EOTJ soon. The price is right, plus the guac, rice and quesadilla were unforgettable!

Overall solid for $3 a pop. The pastor was better than the asada. Asada was just ok. Service was just fine for a fast food joint. Nothing special here but it's not bad at all either. I'd come back if cruising around the area. Can't go out of my way though for it. I give it a 3.5 outta 5 star rating.

The tacos here are straight gas. Well portioned, great prices, tasty protein options cooked fresh and come out of the kitchen quickly. Everything tasted great. If you searched street tacos this is exactly what you were hoping to find. Only thing keeping them from 5 stars is the miserable chicks at the cash register and the fact that they put TEN tacos in one to go container?! It's like your high maintenance gf packing clothes for a weekend trip in her carry on.. impressive but just give me another container it's going to cost you all of 7 cents lol
