This is my grandmother's favorite place to eat when she's in town. It's very authentic and it feels like home made food.Everything here is delicious from the tacos to the soups. My brother always goes for the pina colada , it's delicious. They have freshly squeezed orange juice. The molcajete salsa is soooo good. Spicy but addicting. The service is a little slow, but it's because everything is made fresh so I don't mind it. They do have limited parking and seating. And don't forget to try the ice cream, it's one of the best I ever had

Haven't sat inside to eat but I've done take out and it's been immaculate every time. The meat quality is fantastic and so is the flavor. I wish they were closer but maybe I don't because I'd be eating their food too much.

Came in here for casual dinner with the in-laws. I am very impressed by the quality of food that they serve here. I am a huge fan of mole and they are making it homemade, nothing from a jar here guys. The hubs usually gets the posole (they have both verde or rojo). We were fortunate enough to try both and they are both fantastic! They have a huge selection of Mexican favorites. The service was excellent and they make you feel like family. They even make natural Mexican ice creams made in house like mamey , chocolate, strawberry, etc. My son loves coming here because of this reason alone. In summary, great restaurant that makes you feel like family. Great food and fair prices. Parking for a couple cars in the rear but its mostly street parking and the restaurant can fit about 50 people or less.

I use to come to this spot when it was actually a small cafe, of course they are.m now long gone and El Karporal has landed. The waitress was as nice as can be and that made for a better experience of course. We brought out own beer and they mixed up their Michelada mix that was quite tasty. They charge less of course if you bring your beer and they mixed up drinks for you. Next time I think I will ring a margarita mix as they charge only $2.50 to create it.I had the shrimp cocktail since I was not too hungry and it was well prepared but needed some spice so a nice hot sauce, added to it. We also order a torts which was really crammed with meat! The chips and salsa also was nice in it that the salsa was in the molcajete, that made me smile and gave it a tea authentic feel which of course it is. I can appreciate an establishment that really wants you to have a good experience as our waitress was very attentive, I like that. Now although the I parked in front, they do allow for parking in the back and have a separate entrance, nice!

I haven't been to their restaurant however I learned about this place when they were hired to cater my brothers baby shower. They came out with a grill and cooked tacos. The staff seemed really nice. I really enjoyed the chicken and chorizo tacos they served. Although the chorizo was a little dry it was good. They also served a steak taco but since I don't like steak I didn't try it. After trying their tacos at the party, it has tempted me to check out their restaurant.

I found this place on yelp when another restaurant I wanted to try was closed. This was a very good dining experience. I can tell they made my food fresh. I had dinner combination number two and everything was delicious. Very homey atmosphere and friendly people.

I reviewed this place a few years ago and recently got the chance to come back. I was excited to come back and try this place again. I was not disappointed. I noticed new items such as hand made ice cream being an option for desert. there barbacoa tacos were seasoned and delicious. I ordered their taco dinner with rice and beans. the rice was a traditional tomatoes based sauces rice. the tacos had hand made tortillas and were thick enough to not break when salsa was poured on them. I will be coming here more often. It is easy to pass by, but keep an eye out for the Kaporal.

I've had a lot of Mexican food around Chicago and this is one of the best. It's small but mighty. The salsa is the best and try the birria tacos, totally amazing!!! You will be craving them once you have them.

Ordered a burrito and was disappointed because it had little to no meat. It was all rice and beans.
