El Cubanito

Been coming here for the last 10 years . This place is straight gas the hot sauce is mouth watering , the service is amazing. The staff in general is amazing , if you rate this place under 4 star you must just be smoking crack , best sandwich spot in Chicago and the empanadas are to die for . The other day i was 2 dollars short ( because they were doing cash only ) and the cashier (who also been working there for at least 5 years) said i was good to go , i told him they need to get a Venmo tag or someshit so that people leave tip because shit they should , this is one of them neighborhood spots that not many people know , I'll be bringing my kids here and my kids kids here .

food is so good.the empanadas and the chicken sandwich are my go to and they always hit. it feels like a gem that not everyone knows about, except for people from the neighborhood who have been going for years.only thing is that I went one time and the inside seating was closed and they were only open for their service window. not sure where I should've checked to see that but was disappointed as I wanted to sit in and enjoy. but i'll be back, it wasn't enough to deter me from their good food. just check their website and maybe social when you go to make sure they're open ‍they speak spanish and english so no need to worry if you don't speak spanish!

The sandwiches and empanadas here are delicious! Great food, cute establishment with the front part of a Cuban classic car as part of their decor. They make their own sauces too which pair well with the sandwiches. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. Awesome place to go for lunch.

Although I was born in Cuba, I really don't visit many Cuban restaurants here in the city or anywhere else. This is a restaurant my sister loves this place, I bought a Cuban sandwich that was good but needed more dressing like the mustard. The place was nicely decorated by Cuban artifacts, and they played Latin music. The lady that took the order was super nice. I would go again to try other dishes and perhaps give them a much nicer review.

Love the ambiance, love the music, love the café con leche! I also ordered some empanadas. They were delicious! The service was friendly and there was plenty of seating throughout.

I was hungry but was in a indecisive mood. Driving by el cubanito and knew this was what I wanted. I hit the walk up window because the main was closed (it was 830p). Got the steak sandwich and a drink. Definitely hit the spot, huge portion, the steak was falling off because it was piled on. They put the little french fries(chips) on it and it smacks. Definitely recommend this place. Make sure to get a fork because you will need it. This late i think its togo only options.

This spot is very good the sandwiches all of them are good will not be disappointed the cafe on leche on point man stop by highly recommend it in and out and quick

Clean, friendly, high energy. Service was great. All the employees were wonderful. So much pride in this place. Empanada was big and deliciousExcellent coffee. I had one with cardamon and?? Was great piping hot and great wat to finish the meal .

Interior design & general cleanliness were both very appreciated.Asides from this, the staff seemed to have an attitude, I ordered a tripleta with coffee. The sandwich itself was a good size, but it was as if they were exchanging flavor for salt. I'm not sure if I just make strong coffee at home, but the coffee itself seemed about the same strength with only about 8 oz. of actual coffee.The last time I've been was roughly 5 years ago, and it was great. Maybe I'll give it another try some time, but my expectations were not met at all.

Best Cuban sandwiches in Chicago!! The steak sandwich doesn't fall too far behind! Service is fast considering how busy this place always is. The empanadas are delicious, my favorite is the ropa vieja (which translates to "old clothes" ). Last but not least, the cafe con leche is the BOMB!!! I don't know what their secret ingredient is but there is no other cafe con leche like it in Chicago that tastes soooo good!! I can't keep my Cuban husband away from this place HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
