I haven't been to El Corazón in years...in fact I'm not sure it had the same name at the time, but my visit this past Saturday brought back a lot of memories. The place is smaller than I remembered, but overall it hasn't changed much. The staff were friendly, the drinks strong, and the bathrooms as dirty as I remembered.Don't come here expecting Madison Square Garden but it's still a great place to see a concert in an intimate setting.

The staff is aggressive and mean. They screamed in my face when I asked what the rules were about leaving and coming back in. It was embarrassing and disrespectful. I watched a lot of people get treated poorly by staff too. Being a smaller venue I would think that you'd take pride in making sure your guest are well taken care of but I can see that is not the case.

I can say definitively that I am not a fan of this venue. The bathrooms are god awful on the women's side. The toilets didn't flush, everything was wet, it was absolutely disgusting. I only gave this place two stars because the staff are rather polite, and they don't take crap from people that want to be obnoxious jerks. I can also appreciate that the size of this venue makes for an intimate experience with whichever performer you are seeing.

Venue was rough around the edges but nothing that was unexpected. All of the employees and security were great people. Drinks were cheap relative to what's being charged at other venues in the nearby downtown and Capitol Hill area in Seattle so that's a huge plus. Can get really hot really fast because of lack of A/C.

My wife and I came here to see a local Cure tribute band called Lovecats and had a great time. El Corazon is connected to The Funhouse and you actually enter there. Everyone at the front was nice and checked ID's, etc. I was actually frisked before entering. Hmmmm....been a while since that has happened to me.There was a local opening band (JV) that had a lot of energy and cool matching silver outfits. Lovecats was great and the lead singer had the look and dancing style down. We met him afterwards and he's a nice guy. El Corazon has their bar on the far end of the venue with one hard working friendly bartender serving up drinks. She did a great job. A full bar offering as well. The stage isn't too big but the bands we saw made the most of it. I like that there are places like these still around and fully support them. The small music venues are disappearing rapidly so I hope this one stays. Of course, the outside area is sketch with street parking, homeless camps and trash all over the sidewalks but I think some of that adds to the ambiance of a grungy/rock/punk type of venue.

This was my first time at a small music venue since Covid hit. I went there last night and saw little miss nasty, Gina and the eastern block, and raven black perform. Everyone was super nice, including everyone that attended and the groups that performed also. Thank you El corazon and I'm hoping to come to another show and have another blast like last night.

I think it's usually a pretty good experience, I see a lot of people complain about the staff but in my experience it's only one guy who's a bit more aggressive but nothing over the top (like he's pretty strict about where people line up at, but to be fair there's not any signs so it's kinda a IYKYK sort of thing) But I'm not there to focus on the staff but rather the music.I don't know the name of the bartender guy I'm thinking of but he's a pretty chill friendly dude, always smiling and making people feel welcome.Other than that, I think the ambiance just depends on who you're going to see. I saw Korpiklaani and that was a really great time, getting shoved around in the pit is always fun. only complaint was since it was all ages or 18+ or whatever you can't have any alcohol on the main floor.. bit annoying but not a deal breaker. The bands are loud as h*** so I recommend getting some high fidelity ear plugs instead of the foam ones.

Aggressive and violent door staff. Obnoxious pole in middle of stage. Poor sound, no lights.

The grizzled grey bearded person taking money at the door is easily the rudest person that I've ever handed money to. I know it's hard, standing at the door, taking money, I've done that job. It can truly suck. But if you are that unhappy, maybe that is not the right job for you?And I know it can be triggering when someone asks a difficult question like: "Is it OK to park out front? The signs are unclear." or "Do I need a stamp?". I feel your pain, having to answer such questions can be too much. Especially right after taking money from that person. I mean, what was I thinking, asking those questions?! You are there to take money and nothing else. I clearly crossed a line by asking those questions. My bad, dude. But I hope your employers find you to get the help you need. There are resources out there. Hang in there, buddy. It gets better.
