El Charro Mexican Restaurant

Ordering to-go (due to the COVID-19) outbreak one thought that supporting local businesses would be an appropriate thing to do, although the experience left me wanting to spend my money elsewhere. My Dad left to go pick up the food (where being told via the phone that it will take 20 minutes), fair enough, so he went over to the restaurant with about five minutes to spare. As he walked up to the front counter, he asked the person if he's order is ready, the response was that it would take 20-25 minutes more. Now this is when things went from bad to worse. As social distancing is being enacted state wide, there were patrons in the bar having drinks, being served drinks, and eating food relatively close to one another. Obviously not a good combination. Let's pivot to the quality of the food; the quality was okay but the execution was poor, it just seemed thrown together haphazardly and it tasted like it. Very poor service, food quality, and an adherence to state guidance due to a global virus pandemic.

I can't do it anymore. I used to love coming here but last 3 times have been horrible. We usually get to go orders and occasionally dine in. My son ordered chicken strips the first time, we got home and they were still frozen. The last time we ordered guacamole and it was brown (we live less than 5 mins away) so not a long trip for it to change color, and this time we ordered la cream chicken enchiladas we were given red ones and the beef ones we ordered were terrible. It was like someone rolled some beef in a tortilla and put some sauce and cheese on top. No baking it, nothing. And my favorite has always been the salsa and this time it was like eating tomato juice with a small amount of veggies at the bottom. Just terrible!!! I'm so sad it's gone down hill!

Love this place, have patroned it for years. I ordered a grub hub delivery. The delivery was early, driver wonderful. However, I wasn't as happy with my meal. The vegetarian burrito has rice and beans inside- and only rice and beans. Lately it has come with onions and peppers inside. It's not listed on the menu, and when removed takes up half of the filling... I'm just not a fan. If I wanted a fajita style burrito, I would have ordered the fajita burrito or fajitas.

The reviews for the place tell the tale. The food here isn't worthy of being called Mexican food. Taco Bell, frozen dinners and 7-11 burritos are all better choices than stopping here. There was no body else here when we dined. I will overlook the fact that our server was Asian, because all are welcome, but when the stale basket of chips was served and there were French fries in the bottom of the basket, it told me that the kitchen has no quality control. The salsa was nothing special. It was pretty much tomato sauce with cilantro and onion. The guacamole was half brown letting me know they don't even serve enough food for the rotation to be fresh. The rice and beans tasted like they had bee microwaved and the main entrees weren't even hot. When I consider the history of this place, it's clear that ownership doesn't care about this place. How could you allow your Yelp score to be so low and the fact that no one like there meal well enough to take a decent photo let's you know that the focus of this place is Karaoke. It's also the kind of place that attracts professional drinkers, most likely the ones tat Red Robin has asked not to return. Mexican food is cheap and easy, but somehow this place has managed to ruin that experience by serving the kind of food to ruin your appetite and not having enough respect for themselves to work on improving their reputation.

HORRIBLE. Waitress came to take our order and drop our food. We had to ask for more water. My enchiladas were so microwaved the tortilla was rubber. The tacos were so soggy you couldn't pick them up. I put my plate at the end of the table as the food is completely inedible. Waitress walked by 5 times before stopping. Asked if I wanted something else. Since I don't want someone to spit in my food, of course the answer is no. No apologies, nothing. Took my plate and walked away. Still waiting for our check 10 minutes later.....

Go at 10pm or later on a weekend if you want a fiesta. The cantina is hoppin'. They have karaoke, everybody is dancing, and you can still get some food under the appetizer category. We got the carne asada street tacos, and they were near perfect. The plate was hot, the tortillas were toasty, and the steak had a great flavor. The beer and margaritas were flowing, and the staff was friendly and helped fit us in a packed house. We had alot of fun.

Good and service always great! Owner and staff friendly. Been going there for years and have enjoyed karaoke a time or two

the karaoke night isn't safe do not come to this place. there is no security at the place which is not safe. and not acceptable. the service is horrible and food is horrible DO NOT COME TO this PLACE

Love the tostadas. The steak fajitas are my newest favorite. I highly recommend the margaritas. You can't go wrong ordering anything on the menu. Taco Tuesdays!!!

My yelp post history doesn't accurately reflect my love of Mexican food mainly because I tend to stick with the places I love. That said, I've made it a goal to try new places and spread around my business during covid so I ended up here. First, I WILL be back. Probably tomorrow. Good food, reasonable prices (below average prices), and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I have to recognize my waitress, Lucy, who clearly was interested in making sure I enjoying my lunch.
