El Charrito Authentic Mexican Cuisine

Tried this place for the first time because my sister raves about the menudo, so here we came. First things first though: the chairs. Chairs have small seats so a wide bodied person like me won't find it comfortable after 30 minutes and it's stressful wondering how long the chair will support a big body before breaking apart. There are booths with tables that move so I HIGHLY recommend that big and wide bodies sit at a booth. They started us off with the traditional chips and salsa. I loved these! The chips are thick and don't scratch your gums, the salsa is spicy so take care if you're not into spice!I ordered the ground beef enchilada combo with rice and beans, my sister ordered three tacos combo. My enchiladas were on the bland side but the rice and beans were fantastic! My sister's beef tacos were tasty so I don't know where the discrepancy between her food and mine was, but it's not enough to deter me from a return visit. Food portions are big so you won't leave hungry. Wait staff cleaned tables immediately after departing patrons, even removing our dishes while we chatted. I REALLY like that attention to detail. This will be a great place to eat during Glendale Glitters, where we can eat then walk around seeing the holiday light shows. Y'all enjoy!

So it's been pretty rough in downtown Glendale losing a couple of Mexican restaurants that had been around for decades like La Perla and Pedros so when we discovered El Charrito we had to check it out. Beware that parking is pretty limited here. Their food is excellent and definitely challenging to finish because there is just so much food! Also, the margaritas plenty strong! We have gone here a few times already and it's never super busy for a Friday night when we usually go. Service is alright, they are nice enough but not perky like an Applebee's.

Best Mexican food in the valley! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise!! My family dines at El Charrito ALLLL the time and we keep coming back for a reason. Everything is always 100% and never lacking. My favorite part is always the rice and beans though.

The Menudo tho! We went for a casual (read: rolled outta bed) weekend breakfast. The restaurant is small and is located in downtown Glendale. The isn't much fuss about it, and they're isn't a need, the food was great. I did catch sight of an ad for a $7.50 bucket of Corona (we'll b back for this)!Only downside for me was, the huevos rancheros red sauce had an aroma of seafood this morning. Also, there is an additional charge for extra chips & salsa. If this is how the business can offer the above referenced buckets of Corona? This is just fine with me. Thanks for the Menudo!

The menudo is always so fresh and very good. The service is always on point. I've have nothing one negative experience here.

One of my all time favorite Mexican joints. True to the name, authentic and so rich in flavor. In fact I went with a group of 8 and each one of us got a bowl of menudo. White and red, they serve it everyday. So yummy! Even in this Arizona heat, it'll keep you craving menudo & something light; ceviche. And the ceviche is up there with my boyfriends grandmother... it doesn't get any better of it. I highly recommend.

Well first the service is not great... Mostly because it appears to only have 1 main waitress and the other girl seems to clean tables and serve chips. But the waitress is friendly, it is bigger inside than what it appears outside... A little on the dark side. Restroom needs upgrading but it was clean which is always a plus. The food is good, I love the rice and beans the food was hot when it arrived... Red chili was flavorful. I'd go back if I was in the area not to sure if I'd go out of my way for it but I would go back.

First time here. Red Enchiladas was very good. Wife had the Nopales. Very good as well. Got a little busy but ok. Food was so good we added red menudo to go! Try tomorrow morning. Will be back.

Tamale had no flavor and hardly any meat in it. Ordered toast (or pan) with butter and some jelly. Pan came with no butter or jelly and then the waitress ignored me and wouldnt come back to our table after several attempts to call her over, which i KNOW she saw. The only thing I consumed all of was my iced tea.

My daughter recommended this place. The food is good but beware of what they are charging you for. I've been there a few times and always wondered why the ticket seemed higher than it should be. This time I questioned it and I was charged for food I didn't order. I won't be back to El Churriro Glendale with the way inflation is I don't need to ripped off as well.
