This is as close as one can get in the Valley of the Sun to a traditional Cuban Bakery well known in Chicago, New York, Tampa and Miami. The heritage and history of which now goes back quite a few decades. Nice to see one in the Valley! The setup Owner Maikel Cuello Valladares has created at this spot is so very reminiscent of the non-descript, local, street corner Cuban Bakery/Deli Shops I would visit in Miami as a Youth, Teenager and young adult. Nothing fancy, to the point, offering Cuban baked goods, sandwiches and of course varied styles of Cuban coffee! He's added more than the corner store offerings of yesteryear, you can also get traditional Cuban fare like ropa vieja, platanos maduros, Cuban Tamales, Pan con Croqueta, Moros y Cristianos, and much, much more. Coming here, the aromas, textures and flavors of enticing Cuban goodness is a must. The exotic yet moderate flavors of Paprika, Garlic and lime-based Mojo are fascinating. Stop in and get your hit of Cuban - you won't regret it.

This place is okay. Haven't tried their pizzas but as far as Cuban food goes, not impressed. Some of their items taste homemade - which is great - but very inconsistent. The one item I keep going back for is their Guava pastry and it's a big hit with regulars because every time we go in, we buy the last ones if they haven't already sold out for the day. I thought I had a sweet-tooth but all the other pastries I've tried are WAY TOO SWEET for me. They use a Keurig type of machine to make their espresso for their "cafe con leche" which tastes good but then I wondered why they take the milk in a separate styrofoam cup to the back... turns out they have to put it in the microwave to warm it up. So that was the last time I ever bought it. I plan to go back to try their pizzas. I've been told they taste just like they make them in Cuba. Other than that, I'm still looking for a good spot to satisfy my Cuban food cravings.

Well I really appreciate Cuban food, love it but was disappointed with this place on so many levels. The amount of time we had to wait for our food- was 35 minutes. It doesn't take that long for a Cuban sandwich. This place was not crowded enough to wait for such a long time. There was one other couple eating and of course another person waiting forever for his food. The other thing is that I specifically said no mustard on my sandwich and it had mustard. The sandwich was good once I used a napkin to get rid of the yellow globs on each side of my sandwich. My friend ordered a tamale and it was bland, as I was offered a bite. Then the the papas rellenas is what really disappointed me! This had absolutely no ground beef inside! I took a picture of before and after I sliced it open- looks good but where's the meat? Where's the taste? No garlic or peppers- it was a fried mash potatoes ball- yep and it was something that I told my friend oh she's going to love this! Wow, yeah I didn't know that it was going to be missing ingredients and taste. Also, be prepared to use your Spanish in this restaurant, not English. Your best bet is to drive 10 more minutes to 43/ Peoria for the best Cuban food in Phoenix.

Empanadas baby! Yummy This place is by my work. It is a small place. I found it to be pretty good and Phx does not have many options when it comes to smaller Cuban places to eat at. The folks who waited on me were very kind and gave me great service. I had a few treaties from their stash and an Empanada. I love Empanadas. Everything I had was very good.

This is a new Cuban Cafe in the valley. Run by cubans. The croquetas were amazing. The tamale was really good. They have basics, Cuban sandwiches and pizza cuban style. Yummy traditional desserts. Try it out. Super casual, no table service. Order at the counter, eat at one of the high tops. Enjoy! Your fellow cuban stuck in Phoenix!

We drove all the way from Fountain Hills for this placw and could not even stay to eat due to the horrible smell when we walked in. The best way to describe it was like a sewer smell. I could not believe that anyone could actually sit and eat there. Since we had made the long drive we decided to at least take a couple of empanadas of Guayaba and cheese and cortaditos to go. The empanadas were so fresh hot and flaky just perfect! Really good enough to earn a couple of stars. The third star is for the Cuban style Cortadito. I was disappointed that it was made in a keurig and not the old fashioned Cuban way but it actually taste good. The restaurant was clean it just smelled bad. I would go back if in the area and hopefully the stink was a one time thing.

How is this a torta cubana? 2 stars because the lady that took my order was nice. The cook didn't have his nose covered and then put on gloves and He made my torta and then he put it on the panini maker and then I turned around he had his mask on properly and then gave me my torta. So he definitely touch that mask and then my food Yikes! The meat should be sliced thinly and the bread is not the one it should be, it also tastes like it's been refrigerated too long and it even has a hard outer shell.

I have come twice just for the coffee but the food is so good I have gotten that also.Their coffee is from Cuba, either espresso or espresso with milk. Rich wonderful flavor, in the same category as Italian or European coffees (rich full bodies without any bitterness) but the flavor is a little different. Their flan is the thick style and tastes very good.Cooked plantains are wonderful - a touch crunch in spots from being caramelized and nicely tender. We had the Ropa Verde tonight. It was heaven and pleasure noises escaped our mouths the first few bites. It came with a large serving of rice and black beans and 3'pieces of plantains. We definitely will back.
