Eccentric International Chefs

Hurry, quick! I need a bakery! That was me a couple of weeks ago, looking for a bakery close by with good reviews. I found Eccentric International Chefs on Yelp, and I thought to myself, "What sort of name is that?". I mean, I appreciate eccentricity, so I figured I would give the international chefs a try.I visited on a Saturday morning, pretty early at about 7, and I met the owner, Chef Carl. I told him it was my first time there and he pointed out some goodies(pastries and cookies) that he had out for sale. They do a lot of cake here, but they also have some pretty darn good pastries. I knew what I wanted because I`m a Yelp stalker and I know ahead of time what looks good to me. I chose a filled horn, a chocolate éclair, and two of their cake/cream/jam parfaits. The shop is clean, the cakes on display creative and interesting, and I found Chef Carl to be an absolute delight. He is nice to chat with, friendly, and takes pride in his business. I also heard him answer a phone call from his wife and it was adorable. *heart eyes*Pricing is fair for the quality. The horn and éclair were delicious, learning towards the éclair being my favorite of the two. I like that the cream wasn't too sweet. It was all balanced very nicely.NOW, let me tell you about these parfaits. I had never had a cake parfait and I am a convert now from regular parfaits and regular cake. Why have either of those when you can have it all, in a cup, with a lid, to go. I dug in right when I got home because the parfaits looked very enticing. SO good. Moist(I hate that word) cake, delicious not too sweet cream, and the jam(I`m sorry if it is called something else. I am but a humble dessert consumer). I brought my mom one and also ate half of hers and I am NOT sorry.Get yourself to Chef Carl and get a parfait or two. I want to order a cake from here just because. 5/5. I will be back.

This bakery is my go to for birthday cakes or just simply a delicious treat. Everything here is baked fresh and you can tell made with love. It's a cute little bakery with staff that have huge hearts. The owners are so appreciative of your business and make you feel at home with a tender loving smile.I have gotten a few birthday cakes here but got a special made one for my son. He wanted a large intestine/ tornado cake. I didn't think they could pull it off but they exceeded my expectations! Not only with the design but also with the flavors! You honestly can't go wrong with any of the flavors, they are all magnificent!

Imagine if you go into a bakery where everything looks, smells, and tastes like it's straight from the Cake Boss but instead of being in a weird Vegas or New York showroom, it's your local Santee bakery and you get perfect local down home customer service with all of the high quality you expect from a fancy crazy expensive bakery at a fraction of the price without sacrificing quality..... NO NEED TO IMAGINE!!! That is exactly what Becky and the team at Eccentric International Chefs provide and even better! They came highly recommended by other bakers in the area for my very special order and now i see why! Their cakes, cookies, and everything else I've tried (don't go near those cakes in a cup unless you're trying to start a new habit, they're too good!!!) have the best flavors and are so affordable, I am so happy I found them for my daughter's custom birthday cake! I was SAVED by the price, DAZZLED by the deliciousness and absolutely AMAZED at the wonderful customer service which was so above and beyond that this would be a 30 minute read if I told the whole story but let's just say, black red velvet rock band cakes aren't in season in February but Becky made it happen for us and I'll never be able to express my gratitude enough! Between her, the team, and a fellow customer, Santee epic legend Chuck who might just be the Saint of Santee, we had an inedible experience and will certainly be back! 10/10 highest recommendation, 5 stars, 100% shout from the rooftops, TRY THIS PLACE FIRST!!!

I have ordered cakes from this fantastic bakery multiple times & have never been anything but delighted with antthing they have made. I ordered a variety of 3 cakes for my daughter's wedding some years ago & I received many compliments about all 3, especially the red velvet cake which was gone before we knew it! I've also ordered other wonderful pastries from Eccentric & recommend them highly. The service is always friendly, helpful & they are professional & punctual as well.

I called 2 days prior to my mom's 90th bday and the cake came out delicious and beautiful. The folks are so nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this bakery!

I was gifted an assorted box of cookies. My favorite were the jelly filled kinds (crunchy cookie and chewy jelly works so well). All the cookies were not too sweet.

Carl and Molina are top notch when it comes to custom cakes and flavors. We did a custom cake for my daughter's 10th birthday. They did a marble cake with a chocolate mousse that did not disappoint. My favorite part of it though was watching my daughter working with Molina to have her dream cake come to life. They are family owned and they are our go to bakery. They are a great husband and wife team. Our family and friends will be checking them out since yesterday they couldn't stop asking who made our cake. Not a piece was left. Thank you Carl and Molina for always taking care of the community you serve.

Recently got a birthday cake, was delicious. Marble cake was divine and the Bavarian chocolate layering with raspberry was fantastic. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Fast turnaround time. Will definitely be returning for future cakes and pastries.

I'm a guy and don't know anything about cakes. I called to order a cake for my wife's birthday and they walked me through the variety of options...flavor, style, size, cream, design, etc... there were very helpful and I wound up with a marble sheet with whipped cream frosting. It looked fantastic and tasted great and everyone enjoyed it. They have some pretty neat designs in the shop and I'll be ordering all my future event cakes from them as they nailed it. Very happy and highly recommend.

I always come here for birthday cakes, I recently ordered my wedding cake and I was not disappointed. It was so beautiful and matched the picture I gave them perfectly. Not only did it look beautiful the taste was OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!! I do not hesitate to recommend this bakery for all your cake needs! They delivered the wedding cake on time and placed the pieces I made for it perfectly! I am about to order my new husbands birthday cake from them!!
