I don't understand the poor reviews for ES on Yelp. For one there aren't any hidden fees (as one poor review described). For another the service is fantastic. I've been going to the new ES since they opened and have never had a bad experience. For the record, I go typically 3-5 times a month, whether it's before a game, after work, or on a weekly date with my partner. Every time I go whether it's the bar or to sit at the table the experience is incredible. The food is extremely fresh and delicious (I recommend the burger, the steak, or the schnitzel (served only on Mondays). The drinks are also incredible, offering a variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices. As for the service, everyone is extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive to dietary/changing needs. I am so glad ES is back and recommend to anyone to go and visit.

Visitors in town and hit this spot for drinks post a red sox game, despite it being such a busy night we were quickly seated and served! We didn't eat but our drinks were sooooo freaking good. We went with their fall flavored cocktails - "autumnal old fashioned" (which we liked slightly more) and "into the wild" which if you like sherry flavored wine you may thoroughly enjoy. We loved the vibe and ambiance, dimly lit, cozy leather cushioned seats, and enough space from others.

Eastern Standard's new location is in a bit of an odd spot--definitely not what you'd expect for a restaurant of its caliber. That said, the food is still as excellent as ever, with the same high-quality dishes we've come to love. However, it's unfortunate to note that the atmosphere didn't feel welcoming towards people of color. The service was noticeably colder, which left a sour taste despite the great food. While the food may draw you in, the overall experience might leave you thinking twice.

We came here as a big group so I won't list what we had because I did not taste them all. However I really like this place except it was very noisy (a lot of people). I tried Maine mussels (great), roasted bone marrow (excellent and highly recommended), grilled wild shrimp (tasty but shrimp was not very fresh), and grilled bavette streak frites (excellent). They also have a great selection of excellent wines. Service was also super!

Food is great here. Steak tartare was very delicious. The seasoning was really flavorful, probably one of the best I've had. All the main dishes have amazing sauces: Lobster gnocchi and the pork pasta dish. I hope they offer more bread so I can finish up all the sauces. Ribeye was cooked to the perfect tenderness and juiciness. Oysters are also very tasty and fresh.Service was great. The restaurant is very popular so a little on the noisy side. It's a good spot for friends' gathering.

So excited that ES has opened its doors again! Service was great, though we did have to ask to be seated at a proper table as opposed to a high top for dinner. Food was mostly on point. We all got Weiner schnitzel and I have to say, I've had much better. But the cod fritters and the charcuterie board were great. The bread was delicious and fresh. And I especially loved the sliced picked cucumbers that came w the dish. All in all, it was a lovely experience and I will most certainly return next time I'm in Boston.

Great atmosphere in the new location! The bar area is a really good size with comfy chairs and two TVs for when local sports games are on. Cocktail and wine list were excellent as expected and there were some decent beer options as well. The food is a bit more on the sophisticated side rather than casual, but the dishes we both tried were delicious! It got pretty crowded before a Red Sox game even for a Wednesday, so I'd recommend a reservation to be safe!

Finally tried ES for dinner after they reopened. It was loud, but yummy with a cozy atmosphere, and our server, Noah was great. The vegetarian options were delicious-What seemed like simple bread, salad, and lemon artichoke agnoloti were all great. My husband enjoyed the prime rib with bone marrow Yorkshire pudding. The butterscotch bread pudding with salted caramel and praline icecream is a must!

Server was nice but took about 15 minutes to get drink orders (the place was.....empty) and then almost 30 mins to get drinks. The bartender was filming some sort of content instead of making any drinks. We inquired and she continued making and filming her drink and then proceeded to drink it. Waitress finally came over and filled champagne glasses LITERALLY 1/3 of the way and started to walk away. Again, nicely asked what was going on. She said she would "top it off for us". I've never said anything about a drink in my life but it was preposterous. Cancelled our food orders. Service was bad and slow. Can't imagine what it's like on a busy night. Comped a drink or two which was nice but I see that theme repeating in several reviews. Would much prefer an enjoyable experience than a free drink.
