My family came here for dinner to celebrate my sister-in-law's brother-in-law's birthday. As always, the food was excellent and the service exceptional. We made a reservation and pre-ordered ahead of time, so the food were brought out to our table shortly after everyone arrived and got situated. All of the dishes were delicious! This restaurant never disappoints in the quality of their food and customer service. It's nicely decorated too, so perfect for group photos!

Sadly the hype didn't live up to the experience at Eastern Dynasty. It is in the same lot as Bonchon and the former China Max so parking sucks. We went on a Wednesday night so we had about 15 min wait for a 4 top. Service was surprisingly decent for a Chinese restaurant. The waiter was friendly and checked in on us a few times. The failing was the food, food value and acoustics. The food portion was ok, but our pan fried noodles was super salty. The chow fun noodles tasted like the rice noodles were old. The pea shoots was the only good dish. The worse was my dad's chicken hot pot. The pot was only half full, very little mushrooms and the chicken was mostly bone. Kind of like they deboned a chicken and saved the bones for the hot pot. There was something weird about the acoustics for a small Chinese restaurant, no insulation or something, but it was crazy loud like a busy bar. The server had to yell and lean next to our head for us to order. It was really uncomfortable and hard to have a normal conversation.I would not recommend Eastern Dynasty. Noble Chef or Jasmine is much better.

The food came out quickly. Moderately priced and authentic, however it just was not all that tasty. It will suffice if you are Chinese and missing some Chinese food in San Diego, but nothing special. Decently large portions though! The owners and servers are all kind and the restaurant is nice.

I recently tried out Eastern Dynasty and decided to order food to go for the first time and unfortunately, I wasn't too impressed. The salt and pepper pork chop was a bit lacking in seasoning, and the roasted duck in the combo platter was mostly bones. The crispy pork belly was also a letdown as it was tough instead of crispy. However, the pea pod leaves was a standout and delicious. The guy was helping me was rude and rushy. The restaurant is not too spacey. If you're in the mood for Chinese cuisine, give Eastern Dynasty a try and see what you think! Personally, we probably won't be back.

This place is small so it gets packed, especially during weekend dinners. We arrived around 6pm and a line was already forming. Beef chow fun - Delicious, but not better than any others I've had. It's hard to get this dish wrong. French style steak - This was surprisingly really good! I enjoyed the smokey flavor and tender beef. I'm not sure what the bed of iceberg lettuce is for though...Salt and Pepper pork chops - Idk if I just came on an off-day but this dish was insanely over-salted, to the point that I couldn't eat it. It tasted like someone dumped a cup of MSG and salt on it! I wouldn't recommend this. I took off 1 star because of the bad pork chop, plus portion sizes are quite small and the inside of the restaurant was not fancy enough to justify the $$$ I paid for each dish. Also I did not like that they used Costco green tea bags in their tea. Most authentic Chinese restaurants will give you complimentary loose leaf black or herbal tea. My hunt for the best Cantonese restaurant in San Diego continues.

Interior is elegant and airy. Perfect setting for a casual family meal or a date. We arrived at opening on a weekend, and the tables were already half occupied. Service was attentive and efficient. There is a single unisex bathroom with automated soap dispenser and towel dispenser.Tea is included for free. Food was good to try, but not necessarily to make my go-to Chinese restaurant in San Diego. I think they were a bit light on the salt for our tastes. - Beef chow fun: Beef is tender enough, although the noodles didn't particularly pick up the seasoning of the sauce so tasted plain. - Pan fried noodles: Crispy noodles that maintained the slight crunch when mixed with the sauce. Pretty good to try if you haven't tried crispy noodles like these. However, there wasn't enough salt in this dish, so it tasted a bit bland. -Fried Squid: Tender meat, but no intrinsic flavor, so the large sizes of the squid pieces made the dish seem somewhat underseasoned. Light crunchy batter. Despite the abundant slices of jalapenos, it was not a spicy dish.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for so long now that I have I regret not trying sooner. Food: Amazing!!! So far the best Chinese food I've had took me back when I visited Hong Kong food tasted so fresh. Service: We waited for a little bit just because the place was small but once we were seated service was fast and efficient. Ambiance: minimal decoration has a ChineseWall decor. Also, this place has been voted best restaurant in San Diego back in 2023.I am going back to try the roasted duck

We came for their Peking Duck and left completely satisfied. This place is small and can get very busy with a wait, but it's worth it. The staff were attentive and the restaurant was clean. I really liked how the roasted ducks were displayed to see in a glass enclosure, a traditional way to hang such a wonderful item. We had their hot and sour soup to start and it was great too. Not too peppery or thick with corn starch. Then came the duck! Lots of big breast pieces with that crispy, caramelized skin that's to die for. It was served with lotus buns, green onions, cucumber and a savory sweet hoisin sauce. We were happy to dine here. The only issue is finding a place to park in the tiny lot. Maybe the street is best.Truth...

Ummm..so many great reviews of their various meats and I love duck! First visit: delicious moist duck, beautifully seasoned. BBQ pork belly that was flavorful and tender. Pea sprouts which turned out to be my choice pick because I loved Eastern Dynasty's version.Second visit: Pea sprouts again! I added the Won Ton soup and oh, is it ever delicious! Scented broth and homemade seasoned won ton pillows served separately. Such a good idea to add won ton as you eat.Third visit: (via Golden Panda delivery app) Won Ton soup again! I also ordered the Honey Pork and I enjoyed this pork entree more than the BBQ pork I tasted on my first visit.I am looking forward to more delightful Eastern Dynasty items!Large, free parking lot;bus, bike. The Golden Panda delivery app brought my food hot and fresh at closing time for the storefront. The service is friendly and informative.Give the kitchen a little time to make your food. The restaurant is somewhat casual to dressy.
