I and my husband Robert went there last evening to eat , after Guy F on food channel Recommended this little jewel. The food was amazing: fresh spring shimp & pork rolls, the No1 sandwich, Steaks sandwich, and the outstanding Banana &apple Coconut pudding with a Caramel glaze. We Definitely will be going back soon.

We visited East Nashville only to try this Banh mi place. We ordered for the popular No 1 Banh mi and Veggie banh mi. This place bakes their own baguette so you can taste the freshness in every bite. I love the pickles and my veggie banh mi outstanding in terms of flavor with eggplants and crispy tofu. The No 1 Banh mi was filled with various deli meat, which they brine and prepare themselves. Since it was a hot summer day, we also ordered for a peanut rice milk, which was alright, perhaps too nutty for my liking. The service was fairly quick so we didn't have to wait hungry for too long. The only complaint that I had was the ambiance, it seemed a little shabby, with flies everywhere and an uncleaned table, so we bought a takeout and devoured the sub at the comfort of our home.

First time visiting here, so wasn't really sure what to expect. I had heard great things, so I wanted to give it a try. This establishment was small and seems to be women ran. At least on today the ladies were holding it down in the front and back of the the house. It very chill with a quiet environment. Several areas to eat inside if you should choose to dine in. I opted to get the Pork Banh Mi sandwich. I will give this 4/5. My biggest complain is that the bread is way too hard. I feel like I have cut the roof of my mouth trying to bite and chew it. The pork had quite a bit of fat left on the meat which means as I took a bite I would come across chewing up slimy fat. The toppings that come on it are very light and refreshing. The longer stemmed cilantro caught me by surprise, but it added to the freshness of the slaw that comes on it. The overall sandwich is very flavorful and filling. You won't go wrong with ordering it. The salted plum limeade was really good and refreshing. "Salted" but not salty. More sweet than salty which is a great thing. Their limeades are seasonal, so definitely ask about which is in season if you should go and visit. 5/5I will definitely be back to try something else.

Super cute space in East Nashville! The inside was very clean and bright. The servers were very sweet as well. The food was very good! The rice noodle bowl was extremely flavorful, and the tofu was so good. I will be returning to try more on the menu!

Finally made my way to East Side Banh Mi (sadly took me four years!). They recently updated their interior and it's so pretty inside, with booth seating as well as barstools along their glass windows. There's parking in front of the restaurant but I parked on the street for ease (free street parking FTW!). Decided to try their seasonal limeade which was blood orange. This drink was incredible! Refreshing and delicious! A true 10/10! I also got the shrimp spring rolls, which were really fresh but didn't wow me. The banh mi though, was INCREDIBLE! One of the best I've had outside of Vietnam. I tried the pork but want to order the steak next time. My other favorites were the sweet potatoes, which come with a delicious peanut dipping sauce. Don't skip the chocolate chip cookie, either! I got one to go and it was a damn near perfect cookie. Slightly crispy on the outside, slightly salted. So good!I can't wait to go back and see the great staff, who made sure I was well taken care of during my visit!

Consistently excellent, high in my rotation of favorite places in East. You can't find anything not delicious on the menu. Rice bowls and banh mi can't be beat. I said what I said.

Whilst in Nashville on a work trip I decided to venture towards downtown for dinner. Read several articles that talked about this little gem of a place on Gallatin. It's a small restaurant, about six tables and a bar length seating area. I ordered the shrimp and pork spring rolls and the crispy tofu & eggplant cold noodle bowl. My big complaint many times with spring rolls is that they're bland and the wrapper is pretty sticky or gummy. Not sure what magic they worked in the kitchen because these spring rolls were banging! They also lacked the stickiness I've encountered in others. Moving on to my cold noodles, the tofu and eggplant were seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The bowl packed a punch of flavor. Easy to taste why this place is mentioned in so many must try articles about Nashville. Next time you visit give it a try!Oh, and if you don't have time for a sit down, they have a bustling take away business too. Steady stream of folks picking up while I dined in.

This was hands down the best Bahn Mi that has ever touched my taste buds. I've never been happier then when I took my first bit- no actually, I've never been happier then when I opened the wrapper and got the first whiff of that heavenly sandwich. Thank you East Side Bahn Mi.
