This is one of my top favorite African restaurants. When we had the snow storm a few years ago everywhere in the area was closed but they stayed open and it was made perfectly. I usually get the meat combo 2 and beef sambusa and the beef tibs and stew is so tender. They have good portions for the price and although they vary on the time it takes to prepare they are a family run black business that takes pride in the food they make. They give you more than enough injera. This is consistently delicious East African food.

This was my first time at this restaurant and I only came here to hang out with some friends who were already there having lunch. So I ended up eating some kitfo and shiro and to be honest I didn't enjoy it as much. Maybe it's because the food took way too long to come and I was already annoyed and tired but I didn't like it. I heard from friends that this was an off day so I will have to try it again some other time and update the rating.

On this trip I ordered their special kitfo. Previously I ordered the fish cutlet. Not my usual choices so it's hard to rate them based on other experiences. The fish cutlet was ok, bit they did let me know before hand the other fish dish is preferred. I would say their special spinach kitfo is very good, but not better than special gomen kitfo I've had elsewhere. It is how ever more filling and comes with more spinach so you don't need to order a veggie option with it. I did order a side, but my date and I could not finish 1/3 of the food we ordered and we tried our best for maybe 45 minutes of digging in.One thing I noticed is their injera is very thick and not as even as other places but tastes like it was made with healthier ingredients so I liked it. Just not it's not as spongy and consistent as a lot of other places. Not good or bad, just something I noticed.Oh yea. And their water. 4 of 5. Had a bit of background taste. But barely. Our glasses were clean and yes their give you glass. Some places have dirty glasses or more more refreshing water, but im haply they are very clean here. More clean than most 4 and 5 star places, they will swear they have clean utensils, but still dirty looking. Smh, but not here.

I really wanted to like this place, but the injera and the meat combo were both painfully dry. The kitfo came cooked as well -- this dish is much better served raw! Probably won't come back here again unless it's to shop for raw ingredients at the market.

I don't think this was my favorite Ethiopian restaurant. I def prefer Agelgil on cherry st. I tried the meat platter, but also ordered the cabbage. My biggest complaint was that everything was super dry. The meat was dry and the injera was so dry it was falling apart which made it difficult to eat with. On the plus side, the portions are generous and they used great packaging for Ethiopian delivery.

Super yum ethiopian food, out the back of a supermarket esque place. Fun little family owned joint. The food was fast and good. And we got a free injera since she thought we were running low.

really great vegan Ethiopian food. we did delivery via Uber Eats. of all the Ethiopian options available, they are the least expensive -- to the extent that I was certain injera wasn't included in the platter/combo price (spoiler: you get 2 pieces of extra injera with the veggie combo... no need to order extra). I will say I haven't really ever had bad Ethiopian. what I liked about this place was that there were more than the usual suspects in the combo! like 3 different kinds of lentil dishes, which I can't recall getting at other places. the platter/combo is way more than enough for 2 people. probably good for 3 people. you will have food coma at the end!the injera struck me as more tangy than that I've had at other places. not bad or good, just an observation. This is our new go to for Ethiopian in Seattle, particularly for delivery. We we're impressed enough that I want to eat at the restaurant in person (and peruse the East African imports as well!). (an aside -- I still haven't received a satisfactory explanation why every Ethiopian place includes a salad of iceberg lettuce and a few wedges of tomato. seems out of place)

Food - The veggie combo was a 5/5 for me! I thought the portions were really generous. You definitely won't need extra injera (we did take out so we weren't sure). My partner got the Meat Option 2, which he liked but thought was a bit too spicy for him. I think if you are a meat eater but don't do spicy, your options might be a bit more limited. But otherwise I thought it was great and the right amount of spicy in my veggie combo. Service and Ambiance - N/A because take out but it was packaged well!

This is my absolute favorite Ethiopian restaurant in Seattle, and I have tried them all. I love the portion sizes and the level of spice they used. We had the veggie combo, and it was so delicious, and the injera was perfectly moist and sour. The restaurant sits in the back of the store, and the staff was so lovely and attentive. I will be coming back here for sure.
