Smith Bros milk, Hagen Daz ice cream, and a very nice beer selection. This is a corner store finely in tune with it's hood.Which since that is my hood means it has everything I need every time I go. It rocks.

This place is really great. At first it seems dingy and I do think the name is a bit off-putting. GIve it a chance! The selection is very good, a little bit of everything to get you through a pinch and a decent selection of beer and (cheap) wine for the size of the store. The family that runs it and the other employee are great. In the mornings I get to hear classical music bursting out the door and in the evening I hear from Jai and maybe even get to pet the little dog, Stella.Great neighborhood store!

They don't like people, the neighhbborhood or being involved in any way.Long conversations about the history of the store and the family-involved and supporting original owners.. result in stone cold stares. They will tell you that it takes way too much trouble to have a bulletin board or allow anyone to post any neighborhood events.some variety of stuff to buy

This is a block from me and it's awesome.Good selection for a little quickie mart, and the prices are not as bad as you might think from a place like this. But mostly it's the folks that work there - always friendly and smile at me as I walk my dog or come in for a pint of ice cream. Love the dog that gets to run around the place too.

This little convenience store has got a durn good name. Every time I go there, they seem to have exactly whatever little thing I was looking for - buttermilk, bottle of wine, pepto-bismol, moon pies. The wine selection is great for a small market, the beer selection is decent, the coffee is a'brewin', and it's open early on Sundays. Go crazy.

Durn Good is a great little neighborhood convenience shop that knows what it exists to do--provide a good, easily browsable selection of essential bites, drinks, and household supplies--and does it exceedingly well. You don't go to Durn Good to stock up on a week's worth of organic groceries for your family of four or to hunt down bargain basement prices that compete with big box retailers. Rather, you go to Durn Good to grab a 6-pack of local beer (the selection of which is awesome for such a small store, by the way) when you're running late to a barbecue; to snag a bag of ice when your ice machine at home inevitably takes an unplanned vacation; or to grab a handful of snacks on your way out of town for an early morning hike. So yes, Durn Good does what any self-respecting corner convenience store should--i.e., provide stuff you need in a pinch--but it goes beyond that. The folks at DGG have clearly put significant thought into maximizing the quality and selection of their products given their small footprint and have organized the store in a clean, intuitive way that makes it easy to find what you're looking for in about 20 seconds flat. The products appear to be replenished frequently so there are no random patches of bare shelf space, but they also don't overcrowd the space so you can't find what you need. They also sell their own branded apparel which, aside from being legitimately cool and well-designed, indicates that the folks at DGG care about their reputation and take pride in the brand of their small but mighty establishment. Last, the staff at DGG always seem happy to see you and are more than glad to answer any questions or just chat it up with you for a minute before you get on your way. Durn Good is where it's at!

I love this place. In my experience, most small corner stores carry a tiny sampling of brands no one's ever heard of at twice the cost of brand names at regular stores. Durn Good is NOT like this at all. Ben & Jerry's ice cream, an impressive selection of beer given the size of the store, Tropicana no-pulp orange juice ... everything I could ever want. He's even got espresso (ground and whole bean). The guy who owns this place is incredibly friendly, always remembers me, and appears never to sleep.Prices are a slight bit more expensive than, say, Fred Meyer, but for the convenience of being able to get almost anything I could need just by crossing the street, and supporting such a great local business, I happily pay. Most things (like milk and cereal) cost the same as at QFC.

One of those greasy little corner stores where you know that the guy has a shotgun under the counter and has it aimed at your balls in case you make a too-fast move for your wallet. This place sells cigs and occasionally 4 year old boxes of lucky charms.

Nice to have local but please clean this place up! Just an absolute disgusting shopping experience. Not dingy as in charming...dingy as in gross inside and out.
