Draft Republic San Marcos

They don't take reservations but luckily they were not busy when we went on a Thursday evening and needed a table for 10. At least half your party needs to be there before they will seat you. We were given a table fairly quickly and we were served by Alicia. I thought she was great. She was really nice and helpful. I ordered the Loaded Supreme Pizza and a Moscow Mule. Pizza tasted great. It has thin crust and a variety of delicious toppings including pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, red onions, and bell peppers. The Moscow Mule was also really good. I'll definitely coming be coming back here to try more food and drinks!

I will start by saying the food we ordered (two salads) was delicious.I'll will now tell you why we won't go there again: we sat down at the bar right in front of the bartendress, she looked at us dead in the eye, no greeting, no nothing, then walked away for about 10 minutes. When she finally came back and said hello, I ordered a water with lemon. Did not get lemon. The bartendress watched me take my husband's lemon and said nothing. Ordered a double whiskey neat with an iced tea back. Bartendress asked if I'd like ice in the tea, I said sure. No ice was given. She then watched me take ice from my husband's drink, said nothing. I asked her what one of the ingredients was in the salad, she had no idea. When we got our food, my $25 citrus chicken salad was missing the chicken, had to send it back. To me, it was totally obvious it was missing yet the chef that made it, nor the food runner noticed. Again though, once I got the chicken, it was delicious and I ate every bite. While she was nice enough, the bartendress really didn't seem to care a whole lot about anything. As for the ambiance - just FYI: it's very loud. There were kids everywhere, running around, screaming, running into us as we made our way to the bar, screaming and playing at the table behind US and dogs everywhere, even inside. And I felt the food was VERY expensive, I was a little shocked by the pricing of the appetizers.Also, side note, there was a drink machine churning what appeared to be Pina Colada and like Mai Thai mix in the corner with no lid. I could see flies buzzing around it (all the doors were propped open) and all I could think of was, well, you get the idea.

I came here the other week for the first time and it was a pleasant surprise. The parking is a little different, they have a parking garage for everyone since street parking is limited. It's right by CSUSM, but wasn't too crowded since school hadn't started yet. They have a bowling alley, a small arcade, and regular seating in addition to the bar. There's also an outside area with benches and some other lawn games. I didn't order any food, but it did look so delicious. The beers on tap were cold and refreshing. Bartenders were super nice and adjusted my tab to outside when I met up with some friends. Draft is also located by other restaurants in case you want something else. I will definitely be back and highly recommend checking out Draft Republic if you haven't yet.

Started going to Draft Republic back when Urge was using the spot. But really nice area for with so many possibilities for events. You have the bowling alley, the large outside area, an arcade area and a bar area. Last time I visited here, I ordered the BO Beau's Famous Crispy Brussels Sprouts (pancetta, shaved parmesan, balsamic reduction). These were the best Brussel sprouts I've ever tasted. I mean not sure how healthy they are but wow I could definitely eat this ever day. Amazing taste, crispiness, and flavor. Would recommend this place!

What a fun place to visit. Wether you want to do bowling, outdoor patio games, enjoy arcade games, grab drinks at the bar, or have dinner at a table they've got all the choices here for you. Happy Hour is daily 4-5:30pm with a lot of great choices. We took advantage of the Happy Hour on this visit and enjoyed the Brussel sprouts, Ahi tacos, Buffalo cauliflower, and the sausage sampler. The Brussel sprouts, Ahi tacos, and Buffalo cauliflower kept us wanting more and the sausage platter was just eh. They've got a great tap and cocktail menu if you enjoy drinks.

What a great place to just have a beer, or watch a game, or bring the kids. I saw all kinds of folks just eating and having a good time, including me and my girlfriends! We had a really good server, and our drinks were very decently poured. But I was surprised over how tasty the food was for such big location that has arcade games and a bowling alley. It was nice having actually good food for a place with all these amenities. Definitely one of the best spots in town!

I love love Draft republics burger! After having a disappointing burger at Copper Kings, we needed to have a redemption night. We're super fond of DRs burger. We came on a Wednesday. This place is huge!! Definitely looks like a fun place for adults and kids, especially in the summer or game nights. The bar area was super nice. Cohn group sure went all in here. The menu is different here compared to our usually Carlsbad joint. We're closer to this one now so it's our new joint! We get their draft republic burger with white American cheese, 2 patties, bacon, bun and veggies with their extra crispy fries. And it comes with a salad to make you feel not so bad for eating a high caloric burger. Fries are addicting. This burger is the best. We also go their wings, naked with sauce on the side. It was delicious as well. So crunchy. Their garlic ketchup is delicious, but I don't think they have to us this time. We'll ask for it next. Service was friendly and we had several people ask us if everything was good.

This place is okay on several levels yet not much more than that:Parking: There is none close by. If it's a Monday night (other restaurants closed) you might nab a lucky street spot. Otherwise your only parking opportunity is the covered parking building at least a block away. BRING YOUR PARKING TICKET TO YOUR WAITER FOR VALIDATION. Otherwise you will be forced to pay to park here.Their menu is limited to several sparse salads, burgers and pizzas. We've ordered their Burrata cheese pizza with a cauliflower crust twice now. Both times this pizza was brought to the table looking burned yet inexplicably cold---as though it was overcooked and then left forgotten in the kitchen until the cheese had congealed and hardened. I'm not a fan of two income generating tricks they use here:1) They surprise each guest by adding an extra 5% "Surcharge" to every tab. I get it---Covid provided an opportunity for some restaurants to pad their guest's tabs with "Surcharges" and "Service Charges" that have not evaporated after the Covid shutdown. I can promise you none of the income generated by these charges goes into the pockets of the wait staff. To make matters even worse this restaurant then taxes their guests extra on the "Surcharge" they've required us to pay.2) Rounding up. Yet another way to fatten their coffers. Guests who pay cash are never given any coin change. They keep the change that should be paid to the customer using the excuse that "it's just coins!" Really? Well if it's "only coins" and they make no profit from this habit why wouldn't they simply round off the coinage of every check and round it down (in favor of the customer) rather than up? Sport-centric atmosphere which can translate to fun. Lots of pay to play games to entertain the youngsters.PRO TIP: If you park in the structure make a hard left turn as to exist the building. Cut off about a block of walking by documenting the street walk and heading straight to their door. Remember to present your parking structure ticket to your waiter for validation. They will likely not bother to remind you to do so.

When you head out here, you have to be aware that your GPS will take you to the restaurant, but parking is actually on a different street. The next thing you will notice is the large outdoor area and the extra large front door. You pass a foosball table when heading past the host counter and see the dining area, bar and arcade. We were seated quickly and met almost immediately by our server. We ordered a couple appetizers (pound of wings - dry, and the bang bang shrimp), which were both amazing. Our main dishes were pretty good as well. I had the fish and chips, which were okay. The fries were really good, but the fish had a thicker batter and they use rockfish instead of cod, so that could be why it wasn't what I am used to. I was told that the other items ordered were great. We also had dessert, which everyone seemed to enjoy. I had the brownie which was really good, except the edges were a little dry. One of the best aspects of the night was the service. Our server was awesome. He and the team brought out everything quickly and refreshed our drinks regularly. I would definitely visit this place again.
