excellent beer & wine selection. creative menu. excellent food, well made & delivered quickly. cool artsy vibe. not a tremendous amount of room, but not too tight.this is a quick walk from the USS Constitution Museum & probably wouldn't even have noticed it if we hadn't been looking for it. glad we didn't miss it.

Dovetail is a Charlestown hidden gem. I've found most food in Charlestown to be uninspiring, but Dovetail came through with a great breadth of options with some unique flavors. Whether you're at pier 6 and can't get a table or looking to try something new in Charlestown, this is a great place.They have a nice patio protected from the wind due to it being tucked between two buildings. With a bit of wind off of the ocean this could be very nice on a summer night.Our table of 4 got a bunch of plates, and split everything. No one left hungry. What we ate:- Carrots: Really good! Highly suggest. - Focaccia: Amazing, must get!- Fries: Not sure how they made such great fries, but they did. Must get!- Scallops - A really nice main to split. Highly suggest. - Campanella: good but not great. A different pasta dish than I would typically order, but was full of flavor. - Asparagus: Fine, but could skip. - Red Snapper: I was excited by the asian inspiration for this dish, but disappointed as it lacked flavor.

Went with a large party for dinner and they were very responsive in helping us confirm our reservation, which needed to be done over email instead of OpenTable.The ambiance was very cozy yet spacious, with warm-toned wooden tables and chairs and soft lighting.However, service was extremely slow. After delivering our first orders for drinks and small plates, our waitress did not come back for our entree orders until we flagged her down. The same happened when we asked for the check.The food itself came out in a timely manner, but the portion size on my scallop dish was disproportionately small for the price. At $40, the dish only had 3 scallops, so I left dinner hungry.My other dining companions had better experiences with the lobster roll and pasta dishes, so I would suggest getting those instead.Ambiance 5/5Service 3/5Food taste and execution 4/5Portion size 1/5Overall 3/5

Traveling from Texas to Maine and came across this place on way back home for lunch. Food was great! Atmosphere was nice and peaceful and service was good. I dii ok recommend eating here!

I always love coming here. Great food, great service and cute indoor and outdoor eating options. Their sister restaurant Brewer's Fork is also awesome. I'd love to see another restaurant from this group in Charlestown!

Excellent food! Really nice service. The hosts were knowledgeable on the extensive wine menu. We sat outside on s nice warm day, and the string lights added nice effect to the evening. The menu is fresh and tasty. Portions could be a bit bigger, but the quality was top notch.

Really can't say anything bad about this place. Great selection of wines, quality service, cozy and modern ambiance. Everything was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The apps were more creative than the main courses - so I'll be happy to focus on those when I come back.

One of my personal favorite spots that is near my work. You can't go wrong, everything I've had from menu i've liked. Personal favorites are the rigatoni and DT burger!

I really like this spot. The food is delicious and the ambiance is great. They have a nice wine selection and the prices are reasonable. We found on street parking quite close by. For a nice treat you can stroll around near the USS Constitution after dinner. I would give it 5 stars for sure except for one slightly odd thing. . No desserts and no after dinner coffees. Our very nice waiter offered no explanation- just said they don't do that. I do like to finish off dinner with something, so I found that strange. Come on guys get us some little desserts or a cappuccino !
