Very hard to find authentic Chinese food and also delicious. Quality- the beef noodle soup was spicy and flavorful. The broth was thick and thy were generous with the vegetable and beef. The double fried pork intestines are delicious. It's got the perfect level of crisp and the intestines is seasoned well. The green peppercorn dish soaks up the flavor very well. Quantity- you get a good amount for the price. Atnosphere- nice hole in the wall place. Service- fast

Dongpo Impression is one of the best Sichuan restaurants in the city with a no-frills family-style vibe and very friendly service. Among the dishes we tried, the Sichuan wonton, Dry Chili Chicken, and Sichuan string beans were our standout favorites. The smoked tea duck was also very fragrant though with a slightly lighter flavor profile. It was a satisfying meal overall, and the flavors of the dishes were spicy yet well-balanced.

This restaurant is one of my friends' favorites and it did not disappoint! PLEASE get the sichuan cold noodle, I am still dreaming about that!! And the lamb cumin beef was so flavorful and perfectly spicy and pig ear and other cold apps were refreshing. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated, it's usually not too crowded so you're very likely to be seated and served quickly! A quieter restaurant for sure which is nice compared to some others nearby where you can barely hear what the person next to you is saying

This is a hidden gem tucked in china town right by the red line station. We walked in here on a random weekday afternoon as it was suggested by some people on reddit. To our surprise, this place has some of the best Sichuan food we have ever had. We ordered the dan dan noodles and sichuan dumplings and they tasted heavenly. The ambience was like any other asian restaurant & thankfully the restaurant was not too crowded when we went, so we were served our order very promptly. I am definitely going to come here regularly for my Sichuan food fix.

Love a good Szechuan place and this one is definitely a stand out. I've had plenty of boiled fish (水煮鱼)from Chinese restaurants and this one is definitely my favorite! The chili flavor is so fragrant and special idk what they added to make level it up but it's delicious. And they don't skimp on the fish! The dry chili chicken I don't think is particularly special, lots of Szechuan places make a really good dry chili chicken and this one doesn't stand out above the rest. Not sure what the service/ambience is like inside since I always get takeout from here and can't speak on that.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Chicago!Authentic Sichuan food with different spicy levels (you could always tell them to make it a non- spicy version and they are very accommodating).Favorite dishes:- Xiao long bao (pork buns, home made by the restaurant, not the frozen ones from Asian market, and it tasted much better!)- spicy beef noodles (the chili oil was really spicy and delicious)- cumin lamb (yummy!)- taro chicken (braised chicken, flavorful)This place is also a BYOD!Service was above and beyond too. Thank you!

YUM! Everything thing about this space screams family-style. The seating, the dish portions, the prices. We ordered the Kung Pao and the Seasme Chicken dishes and we're thrilled to see their portion sizes. Large plates, easily will feed 3-4 people. The Kung Pao has a kick and Seasme was sweeter. Out of the 2 dishes, definitely would recommend the Kung Pao though both were good. Oh yeah and the service was quick, attentive and they serve looseleaf tea instead of water.

The food was amazing, one of the few restaurants when you ask for spicy, it is actually spicy! Loved it. Such great service and, the staff was so kind and even gave us a sample. A hidden gem in Chinatown for sure. Would recommend the chicken and eggplant cannot go wrong with them
