The business located at the following address is Dong Sing Market, not to be confused with Dong Hing Market. Dong Hing is listed here on Yelp, but it is actually located at 1001 S Jackson St. which is about three blocks from Dong Sing. The weird thing about this, is that this store used to be called Dong Hing Market several years ago. Got that? I wonder why each store decided on such similar names because it is confusing to Yelpers.Dong Sing is actually not very big, but it is one market located in the heart of Chinatown/I-District. Produce is piled high on the street for your perusal. Inside the market you will find groceries like you would find at Dong Hing or Hau Hau or Hop Thanh, but they carry a smaller selection due to limited size. They do have a meat and fish counter in the back however.I have found the prices here to be slightly higher than a few of their I-District counterparts, but still better than at a traditional supermarket. Overall, Dong Sing Market is decent and the location makes it worth a visit.

Hidden gem. My mom often comes here for certain fruits, veggies, and meats. Small but sometimes they have just what you need and its good quality.

Small, quaint Asian market offering fresh fruit and vegetables, Asian condiments, locally baked bread products and an old fashion Butcher's case in the back. I did not see any dairy products as I looked around and the asiles are narrow, but the prices are good. I shop there everry week now that I've discovered it.

Supermarkets are something I never review but I go here often and there's only one other review on here so I'll put in my 2 cents. Dong Sing is your typical Chinatown grocery store where the selection is more limited, but sufficient. For the mos part, the vegetables are fresh and so is the fruit. While most of the meat is fresh, I tend to avoid the beef short ribs. They also sell fish in the back. What I like about this place is that it has the essentials for a Chinese meal that sometimes I cannot find at Western markets such as Safeway and QFC. The pricing is a tiny bit higher than some other grocery markets in that area but only by a little. Regardless, I still shop here instead of other places like Viet Wah or Uwajimaya because the prices are similar and I prefer supporting a smaller, local business.

I went to by some stuff and i forgot to bring my card. So i looked it up online and the store says they accept apple pay. When i got there and ready to pay the stupid owner said they don't accept apple pay, so i showed him their aite online and he said he doesnt know how to do it. Why run a business if you don't know how every stuff works?! Will never go back to this shitty place

Fun little market in the middle of Chinatown. We ventured in looking for a specific sauce and found a couple! The place is notably small but has a modest selection in the 4 aisles. They have plenty of fruit and veggies out front and a smaller selection inside. The meat selection and frozen goods are present but not overly large. They've got a good amount of sauces and a lovely selection of coconut milk and coconut cream - my best half enjoys it so that's what I came for!Prices were very reasonable, as expected, and the gal at the counter was very helpful! They require a purchase of at least $10 to use cards so plan accordingly.Worth checking out if you're in the area.

Been on the hunt to find cheap and fresh produce in Seattle, and it's been a rather bleak journey...Enter Dong Sing Market to shine a ray of light and hope! This hidden gem has your traditional Western vegetables but mainly offers a selection of Asian (predominantly Chinese) vegetables with the best prices I've seen so far in Seattle. The fruits were mixed in terms of quality, but that just means you have to hunt a little more to get the good ones. Outside of produce, Dong Sing has great prices on poultry, too, and has a pretty good selection of Asian condiments and sauces. That said, this is a Chinese market, and when I tried to find my Korean condiments (for example, soup soy sauce), I found that Dong Sing came up a bit short. Nonetheless, Dong Sing has a pretty great selection considering its minimal real estate!Only wish I lived closer to take advantage of this wonderful little find. The search for reasonably-priced, fresh produce continues!

I love this local market! It's close to my house and has all the fresh produce and vegetables I need for cooking Asian meals. They also have other essentials like condiments, sauces (Korean meat marinade, ponzu), oils, coconut milk, etc. I usually try to avoid going to Uwajimaya just because there is too much variety for what I need on most days and the lines can be long when I go. It's good to go there when I need more variety, but Dong Sing Market makes my grocery regular trips much more pleasant.

Absolutely Horrible. Today, I went to buy some vegetable and ginger. When I was picking a piece of ginger from a whole stem, the cashier yelled at me;" Stop picking the ginger. I saw you do that many times. Stop picking." No one is obligated to buy a full stem of ginger and everyone always pick what they need. So I told the woman: "Do yell at me." She said: " I am not yelling." She was in fact yelling in a loud voice and several people heard her. I told her " "You are yelling now." She said "I say whatever I want to say. If you don't like it, just get out." I asked to talk to the owner. The owner said " You are just too fussy. You just pushed it too far." I said " Your employee yell at customers and you support her." The owner did not apologize for the yelling, but said :" I am not the owner. She is the owner." Knowing them for years, I know his the owner. He told me he was the owner before. So he lied in order to give credit to the cashier who yelled at me. The owner continues to say: " You don't treat our things as things and you damaged our goods." I asked him: "What goods of yours you say I damaged?" He said: "Just stop talking." The cashier added; "Shut up!"As a consumer, I have the right to choose what I want to buy and I am not obligated to buy things I do not want. Just because I do not want to buy a whole stem of ginger, which I do not need, the owner says I damaged his goods. Dong Sing is a shady place with disgusting people.

The pros: -This is actually a Chinese supermarket! Many of the ones in the International District are Vietnamese or Japanese so I like that this one is Chinese.-It's in the heart of Chinatown unlike most of the other stores. Convenient if I'm picking something up after dinner.-Fairly fresh produce. The cons:-Its in the heart of Chinatown with no parking lot which means unless I'm eating here, I don't want to battle it out for parking.-It's smaller than most of the other grocery stores in the International District so between these two cons, its hard to will myself to come out this way when I could shop in Little Saigon. I used to come here a lot more when I worked in Chinatown proper.3.5 stars- worth it...when I'm in the area.
