First time at Don Roman Taco Shop and ordered the following Taco Tuesday Special:-2 Pork Carnitas tacos 4.5/5-2 Adobada TJ tacos 4/5-2 Carne Asada tacos 3.5/5We added a shrimp cocktail on the side and two soft drinks. The Shrimp cocktail gets a 3.5/5Our favorite were the pork carnitas and definitely coming back for these tacos. The pork tasted a bit like carnitas Uruapan (Michoacán, Mexico style) with a lot of flavor. I can tell these carnitas were cooked in pork lard why they tasted so good!LOLThere's plenty of indoor seating with street parking. There's a park across the street where you can also park and walk off the tacos like I did.The service was good!Happy Yelping :)

I went to this taco shop on July 5th at around 9:40pm, they have on their doors that they close at 10pm. Once I was ready to order, they told me that they only had Carne Asada fries, and rolled tacos because it was the end of the night and that's all they had left, which I totally understood. However, they closed their doors right after I came in and they didn't realize that there were still some teenage kids inside, then another customer came and asked the kids to open the door which they did because they didn't know it was closed, even though it wasn't 10 PM yet. To make the story short, one of the ladies in the taco shop named MARTHA was upset at the kids because they opened the door for the other customer, and the kids were waiting on their mom to send them money so that they can order. This is when I got upset because as a Spanish speaker I understood everything they were saying. The lady very rudely told the two African-American teenagers to order now because they were going to close, when he started ordering she was rushing him to order while he was on the phone with his mom, and was annoyed because mom wouldn't send the money quick. Then she said in Spanish to her coworker that she wasn't gonna serve them even if they had the money anymore because they were taking too long. This is when I got upset and I got in and I told her that I would pay for their order if that was the issue, she said that even if I paid, she wasn't going to give him the food anymore because it was already time to close, then looked at my phone and saw that it was 9:55pm so I told her that it wasn't even time to close yet and that if the issue was waiting for the money, then I could pay for them. She told me that it wasn't my issue to please step out and leave because they were ready to close, I got upset and I told her I wasn't gonna leave until I knew that they were going to give them their food so then she agreed that she would give them food but that I needed to leave. This was my first visit to this taco shop ever as I just recently moved to the area, and I honestly thought the food was good, but their service was way below average, and it's sad to say as a Hispanic but I honestly believe this lady was being racist, after everything she still said you can call the owner, or call whoever you want, I don't care. The reason this situation bothered me was because as a mom of a teenage kid as I would not be OK with anybody treating him this way for no reason. Needless to say that I will not be going back to this taco shop thanks to Martha, and I hope the owner does something about her behavior and talks to her because that is not how you treat your customers or anyone period.

Another good little hole in the wall Taco Shop that I like going too. Portions are good & more affordable than other Taco Shops in Chula Vista. They have many options to choose from which is good but also for a small Taco Shop might not be a great idea because some of the items might not be to focused on or they don't have, a couple times they didn't have a item I ordered. But for the most part most of the food items here are good. My fav items are the loaded Roll Tacos, one of the better Roll Tacos I've had. Also love their Carne Asada Quesadilla or tacos, they have a real good flavorful Carne Asada here which is important for a good Taco Shop. The main reason I come here is they have the best Chamango & Tostilokos in Chula Vista no lie! My kids love them too, the portions are big & so affordable, they never say no to come here knowing I'm getting them that. We do like eating there it's spacious & customer service is nice just wish they be a bit more attentive in cleaning some of the tables. A lot of people do take out here so they can be busy but their pretty fast with their orders. Overall a good Hole in the wall Taco Shop that I will continue to go to especially in the Summer for those Chamangos & Tostilokos :)

What a great spot here by me. This is my new favorite place for Tacos and more!!! Fast is plus!! And friendly and delicious tooI got home and could only eat 1 of these huge carnitas The Carnitas Taco it was larger than my hand it came with 2 large tortillas. And fresh tomato and white onionGuacamole is very tasty too not greasy is but fat plusI love tacos but they have to worth every bite Well these surely do. The buenos Dias Burrito was humungous and tasty for $9.95! What Mexican food restaurant is more generous than Don Roman's, eh? You get a load full of eggs, bacon, potatoes, cheese and awesome spices. And, the service is second-to-none with a nice warm greeting and big smiles!

I've grown to enjoy the food at Don Roman's. When I'm craving Mexican food, my go to is usually Lolita's or El Pollo Grill. But throughout the years, Lolita's burritos had significantly shrunk that my picky 7 year old can finish his burrito and still be hungry. I like the convenience of this taco shop. It's literally down the street from me and i can just walk there. Their carne asada fries are pretty legit and I've had their diabalo shrimp burrito here and it's pretty fire! I like spicy so that burrito packs on the heat! I do wish they'd put a little more shrimp in the burrito and less rice. Overall, a fast food Mexican restaurant and the burritos are pretty good and big enough that you can save half for later!

Service is fast when you call ahead. Parking is limited and challenging during busy hours like lunch and dinner.The carne asada chips is one of our favorites. I also ordered the Cali burrito, the fries look old though.

Visited this place while here in Chula Vista, California.Absolutely enjoyed the delicious Fish and Carne Asada Tacos and Don Roman burrito we ordered.Friendly service of staff including kitchen personnel who greeted us while waiting for our order.The store is clean and tidy and conveniently located near the bus stop. Lots of parking space in front of the store.Definitely we'll visit this shop again5 star for me.

I picked up my fresh king burrito today at 12:44 ORDER:078 cashier Linda this is the third time she didn't give me the discount for paying in cash. When I asked her why I didn't get it she said that sometimes the register doesn't work and also the price changed. I noticed it only happens to me when she works. If I don't hear from anyone today Yelp and instagram will be next.
