I visited Don Pancho because it had great Yelp reviews. It's a "hole in the wall " Mexican restaurant in Avondale. As I came in, most of the tables were full and all had at least one bowl of menudo. I ordered a shrimp burrito and a Mexican coke. They gave me a number and I took a small empty table. They brought complimentary chips with beans and salsa to my table not long after I sat down. A few minutes later my burrito was delivered piping hot! The shrimp, beans, grilled onions and peppers were stuffed inside a homemade tortilla. Outstanding!!! When I finished my food, someone was there quickly asking if they could clear my food. (I think they want to turn tables)It's a great restaurant. I'll be back!

Ok, 3 stars to update the last review. Bit because of service. It was great. Not because of food selection, it was amazing. It had more to do with the taste. A bit bland this time around. It seemed to be missing some salt, and maybe a bit more. I think we might just have gotten a bad batch. We've been there multiple times. Totally cool place to stop by, Now.. those tortillas and salsa.. are the difference makers!!

My family and I came here for Father's Day and we were really craving soup. This place has 4 different soup options to choose from and each one are very different from the other so props to this restaurant that they get down like that. Very hard to do and this restaurant did a great job showcasing their soups. We tried the pozole, caldo de pollo and birria w/ Chivo meat. The birria was by far the best dish out of the three but the caldo de pollo and the pozole were so flavorful and had that homemade touch to it. The spices worked well together and the meat were so tender I wanted to keep eating but ran out of food. The interior felt like I was visiting my grandma's house. The people working here were so attentive and efficient . They also have agua frescas and Mexican coke if you're craving it. My family and I will definitely be back. Strongly recommend.

Tons of potential. Realistically it's a 3 star diner. Ordered a menudo con pata, corn tortillas. Was served a lukewarm bowl of hominy and chopped boiled beef stomach swimming in a tasteless tomato based broth that resembled watered down Clamato. Menudo is so much more than it's individual parts. The hominy, the boiled beef, and the broth all work together to make menudo an amazing culinary delight. This place here falls short. Menudo here is a "why bother" proposition. If you really really want some menudo, then you come to this place and enjoy a so-so bowl of menudo. Even if you are really craving menudo, the menudo here is equivalent to the canned variety. Tasteless.Pros.ConvenientFresh tortillasPata/foot was available for purchase Cons.Tasteless broth Hominy was hard Boiled beef stomach was cooked with zero spicesPata/foot portion was a dismal little piece of bone. Recommendation.Perhaps the cooks should start preparing the menudo the day before and allow all the hard ingredients to cook together and build flavor before the Saturday morning rush comes in. Food was great especially the handmade tortillas and we had the menudo. The service is great and clean place. It also has an outdoor patio instead of inside. The tacos were also good as well but this place can get pretty busy. People are helpful and great.

I have been in AZ almost 10 years!!!! Why and how I missed this place? I don't know! Absolutely the best Mexican food in the West Valley. I ordered Posole. My hubs order carnitas burrito. We shared taquitos. Amazingly tasty and all the salsas were delicious. We will be back! I believe the cook with Lard instead of vegetable oils which is truly a win win!

Their food is always consistent and delicious ! I order the chicken flautas. Plate. The rice is fluffy with just the right amount of seasoning. Love the chips with refried beans and cheese on them.
