Don Jose Mexican Food

The food has a gray overall selection! Everything was great and the service was amazing. Gives total authentic vibe.

Good Mexican food at a good price. The salsas and special sauces were very good as well. The green corn tamale was huge and delish! Crunchy chicken crack was yummy.

Oh my!!! We gettin it!!! This place goes so hard it went tamales, enchiladas tacos so fire!!!

The web page opens with lettering larger than life. There is pdf copy you can read, but you have to scroll way down the page. Keep going, it's way down there, just click on all the links, you'll get it. The menu is confusing, but that's only because they offer so many items. There is a breakfast section on the back. Some items are only ala carte, such as Chili Relleno. Inside what was an IHOP is Don Jose's. The pictures on the wall are flagrant Mexican style pictures. Inside it contains well-worn tables and seating. The position of some of the tables & chairs were from a previous renovation. It's only old. It is also clean. We got served hot sauce in a pancake syrup dispenser. There were two of us. We got one bowl. He later asked for his own. It's not cheap, but it's good. The combination plate was filled with food. The Chili Relleno are flat, not stuffed. There was confusion over which table was available. Most tables face out, into the sun or inside. Service was very good and pleasantly accommodating. The mens rest room is clean, and adequate. This is a well-worn place, with good food, and good service. It lacks in atmosphere and value.

Good food. Great service. Cool old school ambiance. Fat bastard stamp of approval. Would be 5 but the salsa was severely lacking. It is tomato sauce with tapatío and crushed red peppers from what I tasted.

This is a nice place to eat. The food and service is great! Always clean, too. I go in periodically. I recommend it!

Have not been here in years! And to my surprise, it's just as delicious as the first time I've gone! I ordered cheese, enchiladas, and beans, but I forgot to take pictures, lol. They have a great assortment on the menu. The food is so delicious and fresh! They have beer on tao, beer bottles, sangria, drinks, homemade and margaritas. I love the red sauce for the cheese enchiladas. The chips and of course the original hot sauce they make is so delicious! I'll be back soon :-)

Always the best! We drive 45 mins each way for dinner here. Their enchiladas are unbeatable and their tacos are to die for! Unfortunately I don't have a picture because I ate it too fast. Thanks for the great service and amazing food!

First and foremost, I never order Pozole or menudo when I go to Mexican restaurants, nothing against it but no one can ever beat abuelas lol. However I took a chance an ordered the red Pozole, and my god it was amazing. So authentic. Kudos to the chefs. After tasting the Pozole and loving it, I think I will try the menudo next. Last but not least our sever Gina was so awesome, kept our drinks full, and always made sure we had everything. She was even sweet enough to help me pack my food to go even gave us a side of the salsa and chips to take home. Thanks Gina for such great service. Highly recommend DJ.

We ordered a party platter from Don Jose for my daughter's celebration and we were WOWed with the quality, quantity, and deliciousness for a reasonable price.Their queso is the best in PHX!! 10/10 will be reordering catering from them in the future and my family will be frequenting their lovely restaurant.
